Commencez votre journée en rencontrant votre guide sympathique dans le centre-ville de Queenstown. Commencez par une route panoramique spectaculaire de Queenstown à Glenorchy le long du bord du lac, avec des spots photo panoramiques et des histoires divertissantes de votre guide local sur le lac Whakatipu et ses légendes.
Pendant que nous voyageons le long de cette incroyable route, nous nous arrêterons et admirerons la vue imprenable depuis Bennett's Bluff. De là, vous pouvez avoir un premier aperçu de Glenorchy et du parc national du mont Aspiring qui se trouve au-delà.
Le canton de Glenorchy abrite env. 400 résidents permanents et la porte d'entrée vers Paradise Valley et le parc national du Mont Aspiring. Une fois arrivés dans cette ville de campagne pittoresque, vous aurez la chance d'explorer le bord du lac pittoresque, y compris l'emblématique hangar à bateaux rouge.
De Glenorchy, nous rejoignons un chemin de terre, une route à sens unique menant au parc national. La route Glenorchy-Paradise traverse de riches terres agricoles, des forêts de hêtres indigènes et des lits de rivières. Peu de gens sont à la hauteur de cette direction, ses résidents les plus célèbres étant les personnages mystiques du LOTR et d'autres films, séries télévisées et publicités.
Votre guide vous montrera des sites de tournage célèbres, avec même la possibilité de vous déguiser en votre personnage préféré de la Terre du Milieu pour une séance photo amusante. Tout en explorant la région, dans la véritable hospitalité Kiwi de l'île du Sud, nous préparerons un thé matin/après-midi dans un endroit pittoresque, accompagné de petits pains au fromage, d'un gâteau au gingembre, de L&P et de chocolat Whittaker.
Après Paradise, nous reviendrons par Glenorchy, où nous ferons un bref arrêt, avant de vous permettre de vous asseoir, de vous détendre et de profiter des sites touristiques, puis d'être ramenés au centre-ville de Queenstown.

Overpriced for the content. Stopped in a field of flies that bit everyone and heaps in the cars. It authentic experience with a Canadian guide

This scenic tour out to Glenorchy and Paradise was absolutely phenomenal. The pacing was flawless—every single stop was timed perfectly, allowing just the right amount of time to take in the breathtaking valleys and mountains without ever feeling rushed. As someone who relies entirely on guided tours rather than driving, having such seamless logistics made the experience entirely stress-free. Our guide, Shanay, was the absolute highlight of the trip. She went above and beyond in explaining the history, ecology, and facts about the natural landmarks we visited. Her deep knowledge and storytelling really brought the scenery to life, and I especially appreciated that her commentary focused on the fascinating reality of the region rather than just relying on standard Lord of the Rings movie trivia. It was a very lovely experience. Even though it was foggy at the start the weather cleared up later on revealing the mountains of Mt Aspiring National Park. The commentary given by Shanay was very informative and done in a fun interactive way! The snack was also very good!

Standing in Glenorchy felt like stepping back in time. For a moment, it genuinely felt as if I had wandered onto the set of The Lord of the Rings, with the iconic tower and breathtaking landscapes making it easy to imagine the filming happening right in front of me. Looking beyond Glenorchy, I could almost picture Tom Cruise racing through the mountains during the Mission: Impossible shoot. The place has an incredible cinematic atmosphere that makes you feel like you’re living inside the movies, not just visiting a filming location.
