Some neat stuff but wish they had more to display than just discuss

Some of the displays were very interesting but a lot of the museum is lengthy paragraphs or displays meant for small children. The one room that discussed the history of bourbon was a bone chilling temperature that made me want to get out as fast as possible.

Colder than Siberia

It was a wonderful history of Kentucky and bourbon in general; however, we didn’t stay as long as we would have liked to because it was very cold—the air conditioning was not at a comfortable place and others in the museum mentioned it as well.

All about the Bluegass State

This is a really nice museum focused on the history of Kentucky. Standout exhibits include "The Spirit of Kentucky," all about the science and development of bourbon whiskey, and "The Commonwealth: Divided we Fall," an overview of Kentucky history from pre-European settlement to the early 1900s told through numerous artifacts. Also interesting were the Lewis & Clark displays and the Frazier collection of historical arms, including rifles owned by George Washington and Theodore Roosevelt. The Frazier Museum is right across the Louisville Slugger factory, and while it's not huge, it's a nice place to spend an hour or two learning more about the Bluegrass State.

Not what we expected, pretty boring to be honest

Great location close to the Louisville Slugger museum and a nice gift shop with lots of selections accessible without visiting the museum, but that’s where it ends for me. I like history but this museum did not seem put together very well. The front desk check in was not enthusiastic or welcoming. Some of the displays were interesting but nothing was really organized in a unique spot, things were just mixed together all over the building. Not very interesting overall. Felt like a waste of time, but at least they had air conditioning.

This museum punches way above its weight class!

This museum punches way above its weight class. My family and I visited during the week between Christmas and New Years and were surprised to learn so much about the people and history of Kentucky. We lucked into a short (20 min @ 11:00 am), free staff-led tour with guide Simon, who did a fabulous job telling us about a few exhibits we probably wouldn't have appreciated as much without his good info and enthusiasm. Also, be sure to watch the 30 min movie about KY. At the time we were there, they had 100 Christmas trees each decorated by a different local sponsor, which added to the festive atmosphere. We did this museum when it opened, ate lunch, then did the Louisville Slugger tour in the afternoon and it wasn't too much for us (though my kids ages 15 and 11 have pretty good museum stamina).

Fun museum and Xmas tree display

This is a great museum in heart of downtown Louisville. Not overwhelming, but enough to see and learn about Lou history. Amazing how many items and companies started in state of KY. For about 2 mos each year, local businesses decorate trees a they are sporadically placed throughout the museum. This IS bourbon country so any of the trees are the distilleries' creations. 3 floors promise, nice gift shop. Movie about the state too

Amazing Networking Venue

Our organization was in town for a conference and held an evening social networking event at the Frazier for about 150 people. What an amazing venue and the staff and catering company could not have been easier to work with and more helpful. It was a great building with so much interesting history and everyone thoroughly enjoyed themselves. It is definitely worth the trip.
