Description
Cette visite vous emmènera à la découverte de 2 villes importantes de la péninsule du Salento comme Galatina, avec sa fascinante église romane tardive Santa Caterina d'Alessandria, construite en 1390, entièrement couverte de fresques époustouflantes par des ouvriers de l'école Giotto. Castro, qui était une ancienne ville messapienne à une vingtaine de kilomètres au sud d'Otrante, où nous nous dirigerons vers la conduite le long de la meilleure route côtière pour profiter des falaises à couper le souffle. On dit que c'est l'endroit où Énée, l'ancêtre des fondateurs de Rome, a débarqué pour la première fois en Italie à la suite de sa fuite de la guerre de Troie. Ici, vous visiterez le château qui abrite le musée archéologique à l’intérieur avec plusieurs découvertes de colonies grecques, et l’endroit du temple mythique de la déesse Minerve. En bas de la falaise étonnante de Castro, vous aurez une expérience étonnante en visitant la "grotte de Zinzulusa" où nous nous arrêterons même pour nager dans la mer azur la plus claire que vous ayez jamais vue.

Itinéraire
Transfert de Lecce à Galatina 30 minutes. Vous visiterez l'église romane de Santa Caterina d'Alessandria construite en 1390 par Raimondello Orsini del Balzo, comte de Soleto. L'intérieur contient des fresques d'artistes de "Giotto school", qui font de l'église la deuxième en Italie, après la basilique San Francesco d'Assisi, pour ses cycles picturaux.
En longeant la vieille ville, vous pouvez découvrir plusieurs palais aristocratiques construits lorsque Galatina faisait partie du comté de Soleto avec "Giovanni Antonio" le fils de Raimondello et Maria d'Enghien, reine du royaume de Naples de 1406 à 1414. Près de la place principale se trouve l'église baroque San Pietro reconstruite à partir de 1633 sur un précédent édifice byzantin (de rite grec). À proximité se trouve la petite chapelle San Paolo qui abrite un puits qui, selon la tradition, était capable de guérir les personnes mordues par des tarentules vénéneuses (celles mordues étaient appelées tarentati ou pizzicati dans le dialecte local, d'où part la célèbre danse folklorique Italienne). Galatina est également connue pour les pâtisseries produites depuis des générations dans la pâtisserie locale. Dans le plus célèbre, vous pourrez vous régaler en dégustant le "Pasticciotto" avec à l'intérieur la délicieuse crème.
Transfert de Galatina à Soleto avec un court arrêt en chemin pour visiter le Raimondello Orsini Spire.
Transfert de Soleto au phare de Palascia 30 min. Le haut phare cylindrique blanc sur le point le plus à l'est de l'Italie. En marchant le long du chemin, vous pouvez profiter de la vue splendide sur Otrante coût. De là, nous transférerons la conduite le long de la falaise magnifique, en passant par des villages pittoresques comme Porto Badisco e Santa Cesarea Terme, direction la grotte de Zinzulusa (30 minutes environ).
Le nom de la Grotte vient des "chiffons" en dialecte local "zinzuli", car les stalactites ressemblent à de nombreux chiffons suspendus. La visite est divisée en trois parties : "La Conca" qui se caractérise par des stalactites et des stalagmites ; "Le Duomo" avec sa voûte d'environ 25 mètres de haut ; "Il Cocito" avec des eaux très claires le traversent dans lequel il y a des stratifications d'eau douce en haut et d'eau saumâtre en bas. C’est un véritable spectacle naturel. La grotte ne convient pas aux personnes à mobilité réduite. Il y a plusieurs étapes pour entrer dans la grotte, parfois étroite, humide et glissante donc il a besoin de porter des chaussures confortables. La visite de la grotte dure 30 minutes et l'attente dépend de la file d'attente. Ici, vous pouvez également déjeuner en toute indépendance dans les restaurants proches avec leurs belles terrasses en bord de mer.
Transfert de la grotte de Zinzulusa au centre historique de Castro à 5 min. Le nom de la ville dérive de Castrum Minervae (en latin "Château d'Athéna"), qui était une ancienne ville messapienne avec un temple dédié à la déesse Minerve. On dit que c’est l’endroit où Énée, l’ancêtre des fondateurs de Rome, a débarqué pour la première fois en Italie à la suite de son évasion de la guerre de Troie (comme également publié par l’Indépendant en avril 2007). Ici, vous visiterez le petit centre historique et le château qui abritent à l’intérieur le musée archéologique avec plusieurs découvertes de colonies grecques, et l’endroit du temple mythique avec la dernière découverte d’une statue féminine datant du IVe siècle avant J.-C., représentant probablement la déesse Minerve. Dans la salle en bas, un grand panneau vous montrera toutes les étapes du voyage d'Énée, raconté par Virgile dans l'Énéide, avant que vous vous dirigiez vers la tour pour profiter de la vue imprenable.

My fiancée and I booked a tour with Bob and had a fantastic day out. As our hotel was a little out of the way, Bob offered to adjust the itinerary to make things easier which we really appreciated. He took us to the beautiful towns of Otranto and Castro, both of which are a must see for anyone interested in history. Along the way, he told us so much about the history and culture of the area as he knows the area like the back of his hand. On top of this, his friendly and enthusiastic attitude made it impossible not to enjoy the day. We would thoroughly recommend this fantastic trip to anyone visiting the area.
We had a wonderfull time with Bob our Tour guide. We went along the Coast. Where He showed us the most beautyful places along the adriatic Coast. Due to us not beeing hungry we got even more to see than we expected. Also he recommended a lot of places where you can habe very good food in lecce. Overall 12/10 experience. Would book again. Traveling the territory between Lecce and Santa Maria di Leuca on the east coast is an adventure filled with scenic views and astonishing experiences… Roca Vecchia, Grotta della Poesia, Torre dell’Orso, i Faraglioni di Sant’Andrea, Castro, Otranto… So if you need a transport service from or to different cities of Salento, the best way to enjoy your vacation is asking Bob to organise your immersive tour coast to coast, with no shortage of halts, including some wine tasting or swimming in turquoise Mediterranean beaches for fully enjoying the amazing landscapes that will blow your mind. this is a great way ti see the area. I would HIGHLY RECOMMEND this trip for a few reasons= the tour guide is very friendly knowledgeable and it us next ti impissible to do by oneself. His wife was with us and she is a very pleasant lovely woman. They bith privided an insight into the region that would be impossible ti learn by oneself
Lovely second excursion for me with Roberto who is such a nice guide-driver.We went to Otranto and down the coast, with a few stops (Porto Badisco,Castro Marina...) I can only highly recommend this tour formula which I appreciated a lot as a solo traveler,very convenient

It is therefore with enthusiasm and realism that I express my personal assessment of " at Casa delle Salentine " . position : barycentric to every location 'of importance for a stay in the land of 'Otranto of absolute comfort' and relaxation , I leave out the centrality' in the location 'where' the "House of the Salentine " with the immediate proximity to every Public Service and commercial establishments (to remain there forever) in addition to the friendliness' of the C.E.O. Bob showed up on time. We were within the old city of Lecce and he sent us a picture of where we should meet within a one minute walk of our lodging. He took us as planned to a nice sandy beach on the Adriatic—Lido Circeo. He asked how long we wanted to stay at the beach and he showed back up at the appointed hour to take us to his home for lunch in the garden. We had a very nice multicourse meal prepared by his lovely wife, Sandra. Everything was exactly as advertised. He then returned us back to our lodging. He was so pleasant to deal with that we hired him a couple of days later just to drive us to the city of Gallipoli. At the designated time he then returned us to our lodging and Leche. Highly recommended!
Experience was lovely. The host and his wife made us feel very welcome and treated us as if we were family or long time friends. The garden where we had lunch was private and lovely and the food delicious
