Le temps du shopping est inclus, avant notre départ pour Athlone.
Après avoir eu du temps libre pour déjeuner / explorer Athlone, nous nous regroupons au Sean's Bar - le plus vieux pub d'Irlande, d'Europe, et peut-être du monde! Votre hôte vous accompagnera lors d'une visite de ce célèbre pub, vous indiquant tout ce que vous devriez voir, y compris la lettre du Livre Guinness des records confirmant Sean's comme étant le plus ancien pub. Sean a ouvert en 900 après JC, par qui ? Pourquoi ? Le tout sera expliqué autour d'une bonne pinte crémeuse , ou pourquoi pas goûter du Sean's Blended ou du Single Malt Whiskey !
C'est certainement l'une des visites de distillerie supérieures dans le pays. Ils ont pensé à tout lors de cette visite à la maison du numéro 2 du whisky irlandais au niveau mondial ! L'expérience commence par une démonstration et un échantillonnage d'Irish Coffee, suivis d'une visite guidée à travers la distillerie de whisky ultramoderne. La visite de l'un des entrepôts de Tullamore est tout simplement incroyablement spéciale, vous dégusterez un peu de whisky Tullamore simple pot de force de fût tout droit sorti du fût, suivi d'une dégustation tutorée de trois whiskys Tullamore. This tour surprised both of us, the information provided by Vivienne was very complete. The group size was perfect, not too big or too small. There was always space for all of us to see everything about the place and the posters with information while the information was being explained. The tour round we had while Ray drove us around to see different areas of the distillery was very smooth and Ray was very polite. We really enjoyed this tour and I highly recommend it

John picked us up at our hotel and spent the day taking us to the Midlands, so it was nice to get out of the city and into the heart of the country. This tour is great because he has you visit both the old places (Kilbeggan, with it's 18th Century distillery of huge stones and waterwheel that you have to squeeze around) and the new (Tullamore D.E.W., which just opened their new site a couple years ago, and is beautiful fresh wood and stainless steel). You learn a lot, have great tastings, and get to stop for a flight at Sean Bar, the older still-extant bar in the world. A great day, and John is a fantastic host.

Our experience was beyond what I thought we were going to get. We decided to come to Ireland for our honeymoon and this was a perfect full day of "slow tourism". We've been to a few single distillery tours in the past, but never with a guide like this. John was phenomenal. We asked all sorts of questions about what to do in the area, and Irish history and language, not just whiskey but he is so knowledgeable about all things whiskey too. We had so much fun and felt it was truly worth the money. We had found him online on a whim and I'm so glad we did. If you're thinking about booking this tour, definitely do it. A full day of whiskey tasting and great conversation, an experience we will never forget.

My friend and I had the pleasure of doing a few hour private tour of Tullamore. It was our tour guide who made this a highlight of our trip. Frankie not only was exceptionally knowledgeable about the history of the brand, the factory itself but his lively personality and true joy of his job enhanced every aspect of this tour. He was engaging, funny and a pleasure to spend time with. I have done a fair amount of tours like this and wish i had a guide like this each time. If you book this and can specifically request him we would recommend that you do so! Separately the tour is interesting, the plant and facilities immaculate and the whiskey was pretty darn good :).

We so enjoyed our private whiskey tour to celebrate my husband's 45th birthday. The extra attention and personalized experience capped off our trip to Ireland perfectly. We loved the compare and contrast of the different distillery we visited. Tullamore was the highlight of the day with the awesome intimate group that we toured the facility with and the tour guide being so fun and entertaining...along with the absolute awesome whiskey tastings. My favorite whiskey though was from Sean's Bar. What a treat to get to experience that legendary location. Kilbeggan had so much history and was the perfect start to the day's adventures. I would highly recommend this tour or any tours by Whiskey Island!! We had such a wonderful day and would encourage all to go ahead and schedule your tour! The process and service was so nice and easy and comfortable!! And the conversations with John throughout the day left us highly entertained. John truly does love his job, country and whiskey! We thoroughly enjoyed our whiskey tour with John. Our focus originally had been to tour Tullamore Dew since we are from San Francisco and use that whiskey to make our Irish coffees after having many from the famous Buena Vista Cafe; however we enjoyed the juxtaposition of touring a very old distillery (Kilbeggan) with a much more modern (Tullamore Dew). Visiting Sean’s Bar was a treat and we had a very enjoyable lunch on our own in Athlone that John had recommended. The pacing of the tour was excellent and John provided the perfect balance of historical commentary when driving and leaving us time on the individual tours. Would highly recommend!
