At first on the bus, the guide Mevys Ramos, gave us the instructions in a scolding and tactless way. When we arrived in Baru, we had to wait about 30 minutes for the boat so the tour started late. When I ask Leysner during those 30 minutes that because we were delaying to start, he rudely tells me to "wait," without any explanation. I let it go and wait patiently. At lunchtime, we were dropped off at a different and further restaurant (Polo Beach Club) than we had been told at the start; we were dropped off at about 2:45pm. It took about 15 mins to take our order and another 10 mins to bring us the food. We're talking about at about 3:10 pm we start eating. At about 3:30pm (while I’m eating), the Polo Beach waiter suddenly tells us that he was called by our tour guides that we already had to leave and that if we didn’t go already, “they were going to leave us.” I was shocked at the time because we hadn’t finished eating yet and hadn’t been told where we could change from as we were all wet and full of sand. We asked them where we were changing before we got on the bus, and they told us that before the bus we were going to change. At that moment they began to harass us and force us to get into a boat and walk fast that the bus was already leaving. My uncles are overweight people who can't walk fast and had us rushing to get on the bus. Then when we got to the bus, they wouldn't let us change, and at that moment the driver yelled to my mom that "get on fast or stay." At that point, my uncle told the driver not to yell at my mom, and the driver then invited my uncle to fight. This seems to me a total lack of respect and lack of professionalism on the part of both the driver and the tour guides and their organization. We went wet and sandy on the bus to our destination. My aunt had to change her bathing suit in the middle of the street. Then I tried to talk to someone in charge at the agency and they wouldn't take care of me. I don't recommend scheduling with this agency.
If you do not know Spanish DO NOT BOOK! Tour was okay but could’ve been better had I understood what was going on These tours need to include in the description if they can accommodate other languages etc.
This tour was absolutely not what was advertised. I booked it on a trusted foreign platform hoping to avoid tourist traps and street vendors in Cartagena. I expected a relaxing, scenic experience with snorkeling, turquoise waters, beach time, and a peaceful sunset. What I got was chaos from start to finish. The tour started 40 minutes late — we waited under the sun with no information or shade. The boarding process in Barú was disorganized and stressful. The snorkeling area was overcrowded with boats, and there was no island or beach — nothing like the calm reef setting described. One of the stops felt like a forced consumption trap: loud music, DJ, no shade, no space to relax. At Cholón, our group was one of the only ones without any cover — my friend ended up sunburned and extremely uncomfortable. Lunch was served at 3:15 pm, cold and delayed. Because of the timing, we missed our return transport and had to find our own way back. I spent over 7 hours away from Cartagena and never got to swim or sit on a peaceful beach. Most of the day was spent cramped on a boat. No relaxation. No tranquility. Just stress. Viator takes no responsibility for the tours listed on their platform. If something goes wrong, they act only as a middleman, pushing the issue to the tour operator. I would have been better off negotiating directly at the port.
This had to be the worst experience of my life. The tour guide left myself and well as my 2 young sons stranded on an island with no way to return back. We was 1 and 1/2 hours away from our resort. Not to mentioned we spoke no Spanish. We had nothing to drink as advertised. Then they rush used to eat a whole fish with bones in 10 min. They booked several tours at the same time and just abandoned my tour. We didn't visit the 4 islands as promised. The tour guides were rude and unprofessional. Do not book with this company!
