Itinéraire
Nous commençons notre visite de Riyad en visitant le principal gardien du patrimoine et de la culture nationale saoudienne, le Musée national. Aujourd'hui, c'est un lieu d'apprentissage et de découverte qui abrite une collection unique d'artefacts et couvre toute l'histoire de la péninsule arabique jusqu'à l'ère moderne.
Après le musée national, nous continuons vers le palais voisin de Murrabba qui était autrefois la résidence royale où le roi Abdulaziz accueillait sa cour. Le palais a été nommé d'après sa forme carrée de 40 mètres sur 40 et est aujourd'hui l'un des principaux musées de la ville.
Adjacent au palais Murabba, un bâtiment moderne abrite une collection d'objets personnels du roi Abdulaziz que nous visiterons brièvement. Ces lieux sont au cœur de la naissance de la nation saoudienne.
nous visiterons le fort Masmak qui se trouve à quelques pas du vieux souk et dont l'importance est liée à la création du 3ème royaume saoudien, celui moderne dans lequel nous vivons. Le palais fortifié a été construit sous le règne d'Abdullah bin Rashid dans le année 1895 après JC pour servir de garnison militaire pour l'armée d'Abdullah bin Rashid.
nous nous dirigerons vers la célèbre Kingdom Tower et son Sky Bridge pour voir Riyad d'un point de vue panoramique à près de 300 mètres au-dessus de la ville.

Lieux et horaires de prise en charge
Début de la visite : notre visite commencera à 8h30, mais la prise en charge aura lieu 30 à 60 minutes avant Ramassage : Nous viendrons chercher ses clients dans la plupart des grands hôtels de Riyad. L'heure de prise en charge varie entre 1 heure et 30 minutes avant le début de la visite au terminal. Nous vous confirmerons un jour plus tôt à une heure précise par email. Dépose : après la visite, notre véhicule déposera les passagers dans votre hôtel à Riyad

Tour guide was just a driver. Hardly any info on the city. He was good at drop off & pick up. We hardly knew much about Riyadh at end of the day.

Moosa was nice and friendly but bad luck all around as the fortress was closed -he didn’t know- the Souq hasn’t much to offer, the king tower inaccessible till 4 pm (tour ended already at lunch time) and to make up the lost time I invited Moosa to join me for lunch which he refused. Ending up me having lunch by myself with a guide sitting in his car outside. He wasn’t hungry but even joining for a drink he couldn’t, disappointing day and the tour operator just drives you to places not really participates. On top of that I paid for 2 as there’s no option paying for just one person.

The guide is taking you to several sights of interest. They will not walk inside of the sights with me. So, they are more of a driver than a guide in the traditional sense. However, it’s a great way to get to see places of relevance in Riyadh. I enjoyed the tour and my conversations in the car.

We were picked up at the hotel on time, which is not a given with the traffic. Visiting the market and the fortress is interesting, although there is not much going on in the market. The museum is made exciting, but the midday meal is a bit of a bust, bland rice and half a chicken, two sauces with it... You can do better than that. Last we visit the Skybridge and enjoy the great view.
