+ Well maintained path,...

+ Well maintained path, great guide - funny and friendly. The full dark part was my fave, very cool. - No stalagmites or stalagtites; pictures portray it as varied colored rocks, but its actually 99% brown/orange rock surfaces. They had colored lights pointing on the walls to make colors.

Great tour

Great tour! It’s an hour long and so interesting. There are lots of steps up and down all on lava rocks but they’re not slippery at all! Plenty of hand rails For you. Beautiful drive from downtown Reykjavik

Lava Tunnel Tour

It was a great tour. I learned a lot about volcanos. The guide was very engaging.

Hi there, thanks for sharing! The Lava Tunnel is a good way to get a feel for how the volcanic side of Iceland actually works underground, and a guide who can make the geology click is half the trip. Would be happy to welcome you on other tours as well! Arctic Adventures Team

If you have a free morning, do this!

I had an amazing time! The walk itself wasn't very strenuous (though watching where you step is a good idea), and I learned a lot. Our guide was incredibly knowledgeable about the lava tube specifically and about general Icelandic volcanology. She also gave us plenty of time on the way out of the tunnel to take as many pictures as we wanted. I highly recommend this excursion if you have a free morning.

Worth a visit

Visited the lava tunnels when on a break with the family. The guide Javier was very knowledgeable. He made the visit very enjoyable. It’s good to understand more about Iceland, how it was formed and its history. The tunnel tour does not last long. Maybe 30 mins. It was completely fine. It’s cold in there but was not slippy or strenuous. Did climb over a few boulders. But 99.9% of the tour is in a walkway / path. There are steps to walk up and down down. Very enjoyable visit

Great trip / praise to Franklin!

We had a great morning at the Lava Tunnel after our golden circle tour was cancelled due to weather. Franklin our guide was incredible - friendly, funny and very knowledgeable! He filled our bus journey with stories and anecdotes about Iceland and its history which was excellent! He made the trip! The lava tunnel was great and well managed but wish it was slightly longer - another stop or two with some extra information as it was so interesting to be down there! All in all, a worthwhile trip and would recommend to anyone! I learnt a lot
