Jure was an excellent guide on our visit to Piran. He was knowledgeable about Piran and the region and helpful in suggesting an excellent restaurant. His walking tour accommodated our group nicely. I would highly recommend this tour.
The Van ride to Piran can vary between 80-120 minutes each way, so plan accordingly. If there is a full group (7+) the seating can be a bit tight, especially if you are taller. The guide was great and the city is fun with lots to do.
Thank you for the thoughtful review and helpful tips for fellow travelers! We’re glad you enjoyed exploring Piran and had a great time with your guide. You made some excellent points—the drive down to the coast can indeed take a bit longer depending on traffic, and while our 8-passenger minivans are standard, a full group can feel snug for taller guests. We really appreciate your honest feedback, and we're delighted that the experience and the charm of Piran made the trip so worthwhile!
Tour guide was very knowledgable and gave us a lot of good information. We had plenty of time to explore on our own or with guide. Pickup and return were prompt. Very enjoyable experience and way to see other parts of Slovenia
We are so thrilled to hear this! Having a knowledgeable guide who gives you great context while still giving you plenty of freedom to explore at your own pace is truly the best way to travel. Knowing that the pickup and return were completely prompt and that you got to discover more of Slovenia's beauty makes it even better! Thank you so much for traveling with us and taking the time to share your kind review!
The drive and our guide was good! However Piran is so so gorgeous that 3 hours are wayyy too less! Would’ve been great and could’ve really enjoyed the day had it been at least 5 hours!
We really appreciate you taking the time to share your feedback with us! It's wonderful to hear that the drive was smooth and that you enjoyed spending the day with your guide. We couldn't agree more about Piran—with its stunning Venetian architecture, charming alleyways, and breathtaking coastal views, it is absolute pure magic and so easy to lose track of time in! Striking the right balance on a day trip between driving time and exploring on foot is always a bit of a tightrope walk. That said, we completely understand wanting more time to soak in those gorgeous seaside vibes without feeling on the clock. We take notes on timing very seriously, and we'll be sharing your comments with our operations team to see how we can optimize our coastal itineraries to give guests more time to explore. Thank you so much for traveling with us and for helping us make future trips even better!
It was incredible once we arrived at Piran, but what you can’t plan for is Slovenian traffic. Our time in the city felt really short because we sat in an additional hour of traffic and our guide shared some odd anti-immigrant views along the way (making it a reallllly long journey). It was a heavenly city with amazing history; I just would sign up for a trip that’s a full day, not half, in case there are traffic issues and to really enjoy the city.
Thank you for your feedback. While we're glad you loved Piran, we are deeply concerned by your comment regarding the guide's remarks. We hold our team to strict professional standards, and promoting anti-immigrant views is completely unacceptable. We are launching an immediate internal review. We also apologize for the traffic delay and appreciate your note on the tour's length.
Utterly dreadful trip. Lack of aircon in the van + microphone didn’t work. Our guide was terrible and was only interested in pandering to the angry Spanish ladies. The guided walk round piran was a waste of time - would have been better if they just gave you a lift to the seaside and let you do your own thing. Worst trip I’ve ever paid for.
Thank you for sharing your feedback. We’re very sorry to hear that the tour fell short of your expectations. We apologise for the issues with the van, microphone, and guiding experience. Your comments are important, and we will review these concerns with our team to improve the comfort, communication, and overall quality of our tours.
Great tour! Our tour guide was incredible and gave detailed explanations about Ljubljana, Piran and everything in between! We really appreciated his level of knowledge and came away with a much better understanding of Slovenia. Piran was beautiful and we are so happy we chose to book this. Sadly I am not sure of our guide's name (he was previously a journalist if that helps identify him), but he is a legend!
Thank you for your wonderful feedback! 😊 We’re delighted you enjoyed the tour and that your guide’s knowledge and storytelling gave you a deeper understanding of Slovenia. It’s great to hear you loved beautiful Piran too! We’ll do our best to pass your kind words on to the guide—you’ve certainly made his day!
We were very disappointed with the way this tour was handled. Bastian was a great guide who gave a lot of information and was very friendly. We were picked up almost on time, which was fine. The driver/guide could not find any names on his schedule, but we departed with the right amount of guests. Me and my friend were asked to sit in the front , squeezed on the dashboard for hours. There is actually only 1 proper space up front next to the driver, not suitable for 2. Bastian on several times talked to clients behind him, turning his head around, whilst driving over a 100 km per hour on the highway. The van was swerving every time, which was definitely unsafe. He was also on his cell phone, without hands free. The stay in Piran was as promised and beautiful, but the return trip was a disaster. There was very heavy traffic. We left Piran at 12 pm, exactly on time. Because there was so much traffic our driver would not be able to make it for his 2 pm departure from Ljubljana. He therefore arranged with another driver to swap vans at some gas station. This meant an extra detour and a wait till the other van had arrived. . We returned to the city hotel at 3.17 pm instead of the arranged 1.30 pm. Almost 2 hours over time. We were more than 3 hours in the van on the dashboard. We were leaving for the airport that afternoon and with this late arrival we had no time whatsoever to do things in town anymore. With the Lake Bled excursion with Viator the day before we were very happy.
We’re very sorry to hear about your experience. We take safety concerns, seating discomfort, delays, and coordination issues very seriously. While we’re glad you appreciated Bastian’s guiding, the driving and organisational problems you described are not acceptable. We will escalate this to our operations team for immediate review.
Beautiful Venetian city on Adriatic Sea. Lovely seaside dinner and walk. Explored the church and narrow alleyways.
Thank you for your feedback! 😊 We’re glad you enjoyed the beautiful Venetian city on the Adriatic, the seaside dinner, and wandering through the church and narrow alleyways.
This was a good tour to get a preview of Piran. The pick up was on time and our guide catered for people's needs and was flexible with what everyone wanted to do. He provided a lot of interestung information about Slovenia. Piran was a pretty place to wander the streets and walking up to the wall provided beautiful views of the city and across to croatia and Triest.
Thank you for your feedback! 😊 We’re glad you enjoyed the Piran preview tour, appreciated the punctual pickup, flexible guiding, and the informative commentary about Slovenia. It’s great to hear you also enjoyed wandering Piran and the beautiful views from the city walls!
