Rottnest Island is beautiful and the ferry ride there and back very lovely. Quokka come out in the afternoon and are cute. The bikes are old and locks are not good but the day was fantastic. Viator set it all up and communication on how the specifics of bike rental etc worked could have been a bit more clear. I asked a lot of questions and learned what I needed to know.
Hi Tanyalee, Thank you for taking the time to share your experience. Nice to hear you enjoyed the Island, the ferry journey, and of course the quokkas! We appreciate your feedback regarding the bikes and communication. We'd like to clarify that our bikes are new and are regularly maintained to ensure they are in excellent working condition. We're sorry if the locks did not meet your expectations, and we'll certainly review this feedback with our team.
If only spending the day and wanting to stop to enjoy the scenery, we recommend biking toward the left side of the island because biking was more strenuous, then turn around and bike toward the right side where there are less hills and easy access to beaches so you can relax before leaving.
Thanks for your feedback Sheila, sounds like a good plan to us. We like this idea, also good to check out the wind direction at the Visitor Centre on the island so you can choose a beach that is protected on the day. Thank you for choosing SeaLink!
Booking the package made the whole experience much simpler and easier. I visited this time last year and hired a bike on the island, which was a much slower process due to the number of people. The staff were also really friendly and helpful throughout. I would recommend taking the first ferry over and the last ferry back so you get the most time on the island. The ferry crossings were on time and seamless. Rottnest Island is an absolute must-visit. We cycled around the whole island, which is definitely the best way to take in all the beautiful scenery. It’s such a special place.
Brilliant to hear and we agree, packaging the ferry and the bike hire is the way to go! Thanks for your feedback.
I should have worn shorts with deep pockets to have quick access to my phone/camera whilst cycling. Should have checked wind direction to determine what direction to ride to minimize headwinds. Also should have had some aeroguard for my face to help minimize fly swarm around my face. Other than these details it was a great day and cycling was definitely a way to see the island!!
Sounds like a few challenges with riding on the island but overall a great day, thanks so much Katherine!
Crew were very pleasant and informative. Bike was comfy for the island journey. Good idea to carry food/lunch if doing full island cycle. Cafe at West end offer coffee, cold drinks and toasties
What a great day exploring the island by bike. We agree, always carry water and ideally a snack or lunch when heading out from the main settlement.
À lovely boat ride over and excellent bikes. A bit expensive but worth it for the journey up the Swan river alone. If the wind comes up the journey back is fun for the first half hour.
Great to hear that you liked our bikes as biking is a great way to explore the island! Plus you get your bike, helmet and lock as soon as you hop off the ferry, so you can start exploring straight away (no queuing up).
Very pleasant cruise down the Swan although the commentary was indistinct. Once on Rottnest one of the bikes kept missing gears, although the overall ride and scenery were excellent. Would recommend.
Thanks for your feedback Roy. Sounds like you overall enjoyed your experience with us, apologies regarding the missing gear, that must have been slightly annoying for you! We will make our bike maintenance team aware of this.
It was a perfect ride with super friendly staff. Even the handover of the bike was professional but still very easy and without much frills
Vielen Dank für Ihr tolles Feedback! Wir hoffen, Sie hatten viel Freude beim Erkunden von Rottnest Island mit unseren neuen SeaLink-Fahrrädern!
James was so helpful and full of information when booking our trip! Even gave us fabulous local advice. Very happy.
An amazing experience - a very full day. The ferry was 1.5 hours each way - a beautiful journey along the swan river. The island was incredible and the bike ride was amazing. The cycle path was very robust with lots of options re distance. Impossible to get lost . Breathtaking views and the beaches were incredible - especially Pinkies
We agree, Pinkies is a special beach on beautiful Rottnest Island. Thank you for choosing SeaLink!
