Le lac Sun Moon est le plus grand lac frais situé dans le canton de Yuchi, dans le comté de Nantou, à Taiwan. I La région autour du lac abrite la tribu Thao, l'une des tribus aborigènes de Taïwan. Le lac Sun Moon entoure une petite île appelée Lalu. Le côté est du lac ressemble à un soleil tandis que le côté ouest ressemble à une lune, d'où son nom. We were 4 girl friends celebrating 35 years of friendship. We decided to go to Taiwan for the food. But we also wanted to see the sights. We found David online and it was the perfect start to our trip. He fetched us at the airport at 9am and we proceeded with the day tour of Sun Moon Lake. We had a very nice Caravelle van to ourselves, he gave us delicious guava to munch on, and water. He was very flexible when we decided to go to the Ropeway as well. The only blight was the rainy weather which of course was no one's fault. At the end of the day, he dropped us at our hotel. It was a very good use of time and we learned a lot as David used to be a professor as well. He also gave us food recommendations and the ones we tried was spot on. The price was reasonable and we paid at the end of the tour. We highly recommend David to everyone!
I had a fantastic trip and boat ride. The area is very lovely in natural beauty. We had a nice lunch with local food. It was nice to get out of the big city of Taipei.

I highly recommend this tour. the long drive from Taipei (3 hours) is worth it though it would be easier from Taichung. Traffic in Taipei is worse especially in the evening. This might extend the driving time. David, my guide brought some fruit for the tour but obviously forgot about some water. He was super early. So we left 10 minutes earlier from my hotel. Instead of doing a boattrip on the lake I decided to be driven around the lake - around 20km. There are some good stops at temples or the marinas where the tour boats leave. David had a few stories to tell about the history and also stopped in the beginning at a tea plantation to let you taste the local tea. Before returning back to Taipei we stopped at another temple that was destroyed by the 1999 earthquake. The epicenter was close to Sun Moon Lake. At the temple you can see the power of the 7.2 magnitude which lasted about 2x 90 seconds. The photo stops at the lake are veey goid as you can see all sides of the lake. David didn't tell the truth about the depth of the lake which I foubd out afterwards. So if you like to know more do some research yourself. Lunch is on your own once you get to Sun Moon Lake as it'll be around 12pm when you start at 9am. You still have enough time at the lake though the drive is very long. Highly, recommend this tour uf you want to see nature away from the big city of Taipei and New Taipei.

My trip with My Taiwan Journey has been a great one! We hired David to bring us around Nantou for 1 day. He is a punctual and meticulous driver. He greeted us with freshly cut fruits when we first met him. Since our trip conincides with the typhoon season, he took the extra mile to bring umbrellas and towels for us when we were caught in the rain. On top of that, he is a knowledgeable tour guide. He accompanied us to certain tourist attratcions and gave detailed explanations. I will definitely recommend David to my friends! :-)
