Carmel Valley Wine Tour's is the best. This was my 2nd time booking with them and it was such a memorable experience. Our tour guide/driver was so awesome, he made the trip so much fun and took great care of our group. I highly recommend booking with them. You will not regret it :)
We took this trip a while ago but is was truly a great time and the drive was the best.
Such a fun way to experience Carmel Valley wine country. The trolley itself made the day feel unique and relaxed, and it was so nice not having to worry about driving between wineries. Our guide was knowledgeable, entertaining, and kept the energy up the whole time. The wineries were beautiful, the wine selections were great, and the overall experience felt very well organized. Perfect mix of scenic views, good wine, and a fun group atmosphere. Would absolutely recommend for a girls trip, date day, or visiting Carmel!
We had so much fun on this trip, and Gary was amazing! He pointed out the sites on our drive to the wineries. Once there, he explained how things worked very clearly. All the wineries we visited were so friendly, and the sushi place we stopped at for lunch was phenomenal. Gary even included his phone number so we could text him for rides to lunch or a different winery. He also let us store any bottles we bought along the way. He even kept his cool when a group tried to do some wine tasting when we were supposed to be leaving! I would totally do this again. Gary was an amazing host and driver. And Tonka the dog too!
Gary is by far the best tour guide you’ll find out here in Carmel. For the price you get a really good tasting experience at your choice of 3 wineries out of a list of about 10 … with tokens for a free lunch st a sushi or Mexican restaurant and a (buy a) bottle of wine token. You are given instructions to arrive at a pickup area at 10:45 …. The trolley takes off from downtown Monterey area at 11…. And drops you off in the Carmel valley at around 12-12:30 ish. From there you have till about 3:45 to knock out 3 tastings and lunch. I’d HIGHLY HIGHLY RECOMMEND GARY and this tour for anyone who wants a hassle free wine tasting trip… that you’ll certainly remember. PLEASE FOR THE LOVE OF GOD… don’t be like the bachelorette trip that was with us and is writing horrible reviews…. They were given clear instructions to be ready at 3:30…. My group and I were still at a tasting room at 3:35 when Gary came to pick us up with the trolley… Gary was very kind gave us a quick heads up that we were leaving … and we left with Gary. This party essentially gets on the bus… then gets off at the last stop before we drive back to Monterey… all because they forgot they still had their bottle of wine tokens. Which is on them not Gary. Gary tells you how the day is going to go 5-6 times during the beginning of the trip. So if you get too tipsy or drunk … don’t be like these miserable women and make Gary’s life harder. He’s planned this trip out in a way that you don’t ever have to think about logistics and you can simply let the wine flow and relax in beautiful Carmel Valley. All in all GARY IS 100000/10 Highly recommend this tour!!!
The winery’s were great and so was their staff, however our guid Gary was awful. Very rude to our group of 11. He yelled at us several times, actually told us to just get an Uber. He was also very unprofessional and a bit creepy. He kept asking for a kiss from the bachelorette, and he picked up a strange guy along the way. The wineries wouldn’t even let him in and are not a fan of his company. Great wine!! Take and uber!
Wow Gary (the owner) sure took a hard hit from this group of ladies. We had a party of 11 ladies on our tour last Saturday and unfortunately a 5 hour tour was just not long enough for them. We made a special effort to pick this group up near their location in downtown Carmel during the busy Memorial Weekend. After arriving at our wine tasting destination, the day went fabulously with three tastings venues and a great lunch. We were all having a great time with a Trolley full of guests laughing and really enjoying the day. All was going so well until it was time to leave……OH BOY! Although this group of ladies was informed that their complementary bottle of wine was waiting for them to choose from at our first stop Bernardus, they wanted to wait until the end of the day to RETURN back to Bernardus and do an additional WINE TASTING to choose their wine while a Trolley full of guest was waiting outside to go home. I’m sorry but that is very inconsiderate to the other guests waiting to go home. One lady came out after I had returned three times to beg them to get on the trolley screaming that I was inconsiderate and SWORE TO GOD that they we not wine tasting….Really all we wanted was to go home. Let’s just unpack these reviews… “He yelled at us several times, actually told us to just get an Uber.” NEVER YELLED MORE LIKE BEGGED and then one of the eleven ladies threatened to call Uber. Funny how other people’s actions get me in trouble ;( “He was also very unprofessional and a bit creepy” Only been doing tours for 20 years. Can’t comment on “creepy” (?)…maybe a refection of these ladies behavior? “He kept asking for a kiss from the bachelorette” A lady NOT IN THEIR GROUP and I were joking around because she is getting married. Sorry your group of women were unable to take a joke when it had NOTHING TO DO WITH YOU!. “he picked up a strange guy along the way” My good friend of twenty years hopped on the trolley for a five minute ride in the village while shuttling guests. Not only is he a very friendly guy but also clean and respectable. Ladies need some kindness in their life. Just a wee bit JUDGEY don’t you think? “The wineries wouldn’t even let him in and are not a fan of his company” 100% COMPLETE LIE. The next day, Bernardus apologized for these ladies behavior, acknowledging that they were ignoring all the guests waiting in the trolley to go home while they went on wine tasting way past our departure time. Bernardus and our company have been doing business for 20 years and we hold a family type relationship with all of our wine tasting partners. They also supplied me with an INVOICE showing these ladies purchased two additional tastings while we waited in the trolley. “His expectations were unrealistic in terms of the amount of time given at each winery.” We do a 5 hour tour. That is an hour per venue to taste and a hour for lunch with time to spare. As a professional tour guide, we try to keep everyone posted about the 5 hour time frame and request that our guests be prepared to leave when the 5 hours is up. “He was rude, not flexible, and ended up yelling at us at the end for using the bathroom. “ Call me what you want, but when half of the guests are waiting outside for a group to do an additional tasting for 30 minutes is more than RUDE, it is downright disrespectful. After we finally got the group on board they informed me one of their group was in the bathroom….another 10 minute wait. NEVER YELLED AT THIS WOMAN OR ANYONE FOR USING THE BATHROOM. Better in a bathroom than on the trolley ;) Other guests on my tour were so appalled by these ladies actions that they all CHEERED WHEN WE DROPPED THEM OFF and hugged me at the end of the day on their way out, leaving generous gratuity and sending me a private messages after the tour…. “Gary! We wanted to thank you again :) we’re drinking the merlot we got from Rombi earlier and we’re reflecting on this experience. You provided an awesome experience and we have already talked you up and sent the booking link to folks that we’ve met at dinner and our friends. Just thinking of ya and wishing you a good night. Thank you for a good time! I love my guests! Even though this group informed me they were going to give me bad reviews, ignored our other guests, lied repeatedly and even SWORE TO GOD they were not wine tasting, we still made the special trip to get them to downtown Carmel with a safe return. We only can hope that these ladies can REFLECT and begin to think of others when in group situations. PLEASE start acting like adults when out wine tasting.
The wineries and the wine were great! The drawback was the guide and trolley experience. His expectations were unrealistic in terms of the amount of time given at each winery. He was rude, not flexible, and ended up yelling at us at the end for using the bathroom. The trolley is basically a really expensive uber so I recommend visiting the wineries without the trolley.

This was a nice tour to the Carmel Village. The driver was very knowledgeable about the area, and the village was cute. Great wineries to taste from.
We used this trolley company for my boyfriend’s 30th birthday party and had the most wonderful experience from start to finish. Our group was quite large, and they went above and beyond to accommodate all of us without any issues. From the moment they picked us up at our accommodation, the team made us feel so welcomed and well taken care of. They checked on us throughout the entire trip to make sure everyone was happy and having a great time. Honestly that kind of attentiveness really made a difference. A huge shoutout to our driver, who was an absolute star! His jokes kept everyone laughing the whole time and really set the perfect party mood. He was a big part of what made the experience so memorable and fun. And to top it all off, there was the most adorable dog on board that we all fell in love with 😭 and they were kind enough to let us bring our own dog along too, which meant the world to us! Our group had an ‘old people’ theme to roast my boyfriend turning 30, and the fun, relaxed atmosphere on the trolley made it the perfect setting for a good time. Everyone got to enjoy a great wine selection, and there wasn’t a single complaint about any of the options. The staff were genuinely sweet and professional, and it’s clear they take pride in making every group feel special. We couldn’t have asked for a better way to celebrate — highly recommend for any group outing or special occasion! PS- One of the best parts? Not having to stress about coordinating Ubers between wineries for a large group. we just hopped on the trolley and enjoyed the ride to each stop without a care in the world. Everyone got to enjoy a great wine selection, and there wasn’t a single complaint about any of the options.
Very knowledgeable. Great wines. Great venues. Well worth it. Very positive experience. Then there’s this weird minimum word requirement to leave a review.
