On this 6-night trip, the last island: South sea Iceland is to be avoided. Appreciable for those who love unlimited beer and fake ethnic shows given by souvenir vendors dressed in dress in rafia, twice a day, when a tourist boat arrives. There are only 3 rooms rarely occupied. This end decreases the overall impression of the trip by giving it a FRAM feel.
Bula Vinaka Roam15053038119, Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback regarding your Coconut Cruiser Package experience. We’re sorry to hear that the final part of your journey did not meet your expectations. We value all guest feedback and would welcome the opportunity to discuss your concerns in more detail. Please feel free to contact our Customer Service team directly at customerservices@ssc.com.fj, and we will be happy to assist you further. Warm Regards,
A very confusing booking process, but ultimately a seamless process each time on travel days. The Flyer III cuts through waves even on a choppy day. Firstly, the website is incredibly confusing for trying to get an estimate yourself. I guess they want you to contact instead. It was also quite difficult to relay our wants with what was available, though all of our stays had plenty of vacancies. The resorts using meal plans should just go with all-inclusivity instead. Theyre expensive enough as it is, never mind with the meal plans. God forbid you want an ice cream. I honestly think youd get more business with a more streamlined booking and payment process. Secondly, the South Sea Island should be day trips only - a family friendly option to Malamala. And speaking of Malamala, we didnt even get to go due to the coordination of our arrival times - even with the Arrival and Departure packages! You really have to work to ensure things line up because it seems Awesome wont advise you. Similarly, we were booked onto the Sawa-i-Lau cave trip which only runs at 9am on Mon/Weds/Fri/Sat, despite arriving to our resort on a Wednesday and leaving on a Friday. I specifically asked for the trip to be coordinated to go there. We then had to pay out of pocket to go with the resort's own trip on the Thursday. We visited Port Denarau the day before anyway and asked some questions at the desk - the resorts all take card, some are even cashless. If you have a pick up booked, theyll check you in so you can get breakfast at Port Denarau while waiting. Theres plenty time for boarding in all honesty. The Flyer is very well run and very comfortable. There are clear announcements for every stop, air con and snacks and a bar. Even just the trip itself is stunning. Shades of blue you didnt know existed next to untouched green islands. Steer clear of South Sea Island, book multiple nights in any spot you visit, and time your trip to include manta ray season. Dive with sharks at Barefoot Kuata and mantas at either Barefoot Manta or Mantaray Island Resort. Each resort can cater for any diet or allergy requirements and the staff are all incredible and memorable.
Bula danandimogen, Vinaka vakalevu for taking the time to share such detailed feedback about your Coconut Cruiser experience. We greatly appreciate both your positive comments and your suggestions for improvement. We’re glad to hear you enjoyed the Flyer III and the stunning scenery — it’s wonderful to know our team made your experience comfortable and memorable. At the same time, we sincerely apologize for the challenges you encountered with the booking process, meal plans, and coordination of activities. Your feedback regarding website clarity, trip scheduling, and resort options is invaluable, and we will review these areas closely to make the experience smoother and more seamless for our future guests. Thank you also for highlighting our staff — we’ll be sure to share your kind words with them. We hope that despite the challenges, you were able to enjoy the beauty and unique experiences Fiji has to offer, and we would love the opportunity to provide an even better experience should you return. Warm regards,
Avoid this agency at all costs. Total incompetence and zero professionalism. We booked a full package with Awesome Fiji (hotels, activities, transfers) to avoid any issues. Upon arrival, we were told that an all-inclusive meal plan was mandatory and charged at a high price, even though this was never mentioned at the time of booking. Our assigned contact simply told us we had no choice. Six hours before our flight, we had still not received any email with transport information, transfer details, schedules, or the itinerary for meals and activities. Even worse, the mandatory meal clause was added only after we voiced our concerns, which is completely dishonest. At the second hotel, our reservation had never been sent by the agency. No room was available when we arrived, and we had to wait 1.5 hours without any answers or help. We ended up having to find a solution on our own directly with the hotel. No solution, no refund, no follow-up. We met several other travelers in the resorts, and all of them had the same nightmare experience with this agency. Stay away from this company. Incompetent staff, non-existent customer service, and misleading services. The agent didn’t even bother to reply. She read our messages and ignored us. Unacceptable given the price we paid. So much for “customer service”. It is simply unacceptable !!!
Bula Jeanne, Thank you for your feedback. We sincerely regret to hear that your experience did not meet your expectations and would like to extend our apologies for the inconvenience caused during your trip. We have thoroughly investigated your concerns and wish to clarify the following: Your booking was made through a third party, and the confirmed itinerary and client documentation — including the compulsory meal plan notice — were sent to the agent on 19th April 2025. The confirmation clearly stated that meal plans are mandatory and payable directly to each resort. Unfortunately, it appears this crucial information was not relayed to you by the agent, which understandably led to frustration and confusion upon arrival. Regarding your itinerary and transfer details, these were confirmed and made available from the outset. All logistics, including accommodation, transfers, and activities, were booked and confirmed well in advance and provided to the agent. As for the issue at the second resort, we regret the delay you encountered. You had left your previous a day early, hence arrived early to your second resort. So, we are glad they were still able to find you accommodation to stay in for the night. We always encourage guests to reach out directly to us via our 24/7 reservations line, WhatsApp, or email for immediate assistance in such situations. Please understand that as the local operator, we rely on agents to accurately pass on all booking details and terms to their clients. However, we accept that from the guest’s perspective, this distinction is not always clear, and for that reason, we truly regret that your expectations were not met. We have since followed up with the agent and emphasized the importance of transparent communication to avoid such occurrences in the future. Once again, we are sorry for the inconvenience and appreciate you taking the time to share your feedback. Your comments will assist us in improving both our direct and agent-supported guest experience. Vinaka vakalevu!
Very bad! We had booked a package over Christmas. 6 nights out on 4 different islands. More than half of the activities to be included were canceled due to Christmas celebrations. No refund as this is apparently "included for free" in the package. The reasonable thing would have been to move the activity so that he could do these before leaving the island, but that was not done. The funny thing is that there are price lists at each hotel with what the activity costs if you have NOT bought a package. So then we draw the easy conclusion that the activities are of course not "included for free" but that the prices we pay are of course higher because we indirectly pay for the activities. In addition, you have to pay for lunch at one of the places even if you bought a full meal package. The travel company does not respond to emails (more than 10 days have passed).
Bula Vinaka 664hampusp Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback with us. We sincerely apologize for the inconveniences you experienced during your recent travel with us over the Christmas period. It is important to us that our guests have a positive and enjoyable experience, and we regret any misunderstanding regarding the included activities in the package and the impact that the Christmas celebrations had on the availability of these activities during your visit. Your feedback regarding the lack of responsiveness to your emails is also concerning, and we will be addressing this internally to ensure better communication in the future. Please know that your feedback is invaluable to us, and we will use it to review and improve our services. We would like to make things right for you, so please reach out to us directly on email customerservices@ssc.com.fj so that we can discuss possible solutions and address any outstanding concerns. We hope for the opportunity to welcome you back in the future and provide you with a much-improved experience.
Be careful booking these guys packages - whilst they say they’re available on-line they aren’t necessarily available and it can be a battle getting your money back - making it harder for you to book alternative accommodation. We've emailed and called them and they keep saying 3 weeks but have nothing. They should either take a small deposit and take the rest on confirmation, or immediate refund. There's no reason it should be so slow. It also looked like it was in AUD on their website, so we got slugged with $150 foreign fees when we could have used another card if we'd known.
Bula hhJ7074OG Thank you for your review. I would like the opportunity to investigate your review further. Can you email me directly on customerservices@ssc.com.fj. All bookings with Awesome Adventures are subject to availability and as you noted that packages and/ accommodations maybe available online but there is no guarantee that this will be available at the time of booking because these are live online inventory and still is subject to availability. Clause three of our booking terms and conditions states that, a deposit of $100 per person is required at the time of booking to secure your reservation. The remaining balance is to be paid in full at least 45 days prior to your departure date prior to your travel date. If we are not able to fully confirm your booking due to non-availability, then a refund of the payment received is processed within the next 21 days. I know you should have already received your refund by now but if you haven't, please let me know. Any payment already received can be transferred to an alternative booking of your preference provided currency of booking made are the same. We greatly appreciate your feedback and are looking into flexible payment conditions going into our new season travel but no promises at this stage. Look forward to hearing from you.
I booked this as i am a solo female travel and felt ut would be safer to book a tour. It was an unorganised mess from the moment i got tgrough customs at the airport to find there shop had been closed down. I paid extra for airport pick and nobody was anywhere ro be seen to greet me with a big Bula!! A lady from another tour agency found see i was looking lost in tears and worried as it was 7pm at night at this stage and I had no idea what to do. She called around a few different people and managed to find someone to pick up. Finally 3 hours after landing I was collected and taken to my hotel. Upon arrival at the hotel they had no idea who I was and I wasn't given any vouchers which is what the transport lady also asked for..It took them an hour to check me and the ladybwas reluctant to. Again customer service was very unwelcoming. The room was dirty and very small. The next day I still had no idea where to go and a random stranger on the street told me to just walk up to the next motel & wait. From there I jumped on a mini bus no name check or anything so I assumed it was the correct bus. Once I got checked in at the port I barely even got an apology let a reason why I was left at the airport. The yasawa was great as were the resorts absolutely amazing service at all 3. Bare foot Manta Ray our tour stated Guided snorkelling which we told by Barefoot wasn't included..Thank god to the other couple that were on the same tour as they pushed for this to happen and ended up spending 2 hours on the phone to them, explaining why they had to honour it. Finally they allowed us to go. Highly suggested booking this yourself and not using awesome adventures as my experience with them was far from awesome. I'll definitely be back to the islands but never through this company
Bula feeF_13 Obviously very concerned to read this review. It really sounds as if nothing was confirmed for you & unbelievable that this was the turn of events as you have explained. You said you advised us of all of this upon check-in with us & if correct the compensation that certainly would have been offered along with the promise of a full investigation. I implore you to email me with your details, dates of travel & booking number. This is not how we operate & really need to understand where the communication breakdown started. Please email me at your earliest convenience. Lauren Customerservices@ssc.com.fj
We were apprehensive as read very mixed reviews. There was little communication with the company and we never saw a rep or anything but as soon as you’re at the port, the people running the boat look after you and are very helpful with keeping you right. All of the accommodation was brilliant, we were just in the dorms and they were miles better than most hostels. Food was included and was on the most part great, occasional meals weren’t particularly fresh or generous but most were. Once you’re on the resorts the staff are super helpful and they ensure you make each transfer. The water activities were all pretty good too but just make sure you book them as soon as you arrive at the resort because there were times they were fully booked and you don’t get refunded that voucher. South Sea Island wasn’t the best resort, we were the only two staying overnight which was nice but that accommodation wasn’t brilliant and then during the day the island was overrun by day trippers who were rude and littered the island. This island hopping adventure was truly a once in a lifetime opportunity and we are so glad we went ahead with it. Barefoot Kuata was definitely the best resort, Mantaray island resort and Blue Lagoon were also amazing. South Sea Island was a bit of a let down.
Bula FarAway792059 Your review is greatly appreciated. Comments taken on board re South Sea Island & will forward to appropriate management. We are also grateful you went ahead with your once in a lifetime island hoping experience. Wishing you safe obward travels. Vinaka
We booked through STA which I would suggest as they were quick to respond and sorted everything out including coach transfers and any alterations (thank you Amy)! The trip overall was incredible, fiji is really beautiful. I would definitely go again.
Bula Fay B, Thank you for the positive review! We hope to see you again in the future, Vinaka, South Sea Cruises
We booked what we hoped to be the trip of a lifetime, the 6 day Fiji cruise, through Trip Advisor, who passed it onto Viator, who passed it onto Awesome Adventures Fiji, who booked the three hotels for us. We did not know which hotels we would be staying at until literally the day we left, at the harbor getting on the ferry. Fiji is absolutely stunning, the ferry rides are really cool, and the islands and hotels are beautiful. BUT we take exception to the kind of rooms we ended up with: tiny, no ocean view, three hooks on the wall without a closet, hardly any room to walk around the bed, lived straight out of the suitcase for those six days. But worst of all was the "shared facilities", which we learned about at our first destination: bathrooms shared dorm style with many other guests, most of them a third of our age. Had to walk across a dark courtyard at night to relieve ourselves, at least the showers had doors! That's not what we were told at booking. That was a big disappointment, especially when we thought we had booked the highest category there was. Food was extra and we knew that and quite expensive, which we didn't know. Some places tried to charge us extra for activities that were included because we signed up for them at the "wrong desk.". We will not book a trip like this again through Trip Advisor.
Bula Mariabjornroli, Thank you for sharing your experience with us. We are pleased that you enjoyed your time cruising onboard the Yasawa Flyer 2 and the beautiful scenery of the Mamanuca and Yasawa Islands. As you have rightly stated we had received your booking from Trip Advisor/Viator, to confirm a 6 Day Yasawa & Mamanuca Island Adventure package with us via Viator. We have read your comments in regards to not knowing which hotels you would be staying at until the day you checked in with us. We have checked your booking details and can confirm that your booking was made with us through Viator on the 28 December, 2017. Our reservations team sent your booking confirmation back to Viator on the same day with the detail on the resorts you would be staying at. In regards to the room types you had stayed in, you had booked a 2 coconut Double/Twin Package which is described as “Flashpacker” style accommodation on the Trip Advisor Website and we apologise that the descriptions as stated on the Tripadvisor Site did not meet your expectations. We are sorry that you did not enjoy all aspects of your recent holiday, and we hope you’ll enable us the opportunity in the future to travel with us again. Vinaka Lailanie Burnes General Manager Customer Service & Experience

I thoroughly enjoyed my 6-Day Yasawa and Mamanuca Island Adventure. I was picked up by a taxi from my hotel and driven to another hotel to be picked up by bus and driven to Port Denarau, where I checked in and boarded the boat for my first destination. The first stop was the Oarsman Bay Lodge, where I was treated like one of the family and called by name by all the smiling staff, there was a snorkelling trip to the Blue Lagoon and snorkelling in a cave included in the cost. The meals were delicious and were catered to your personal tastes. The bure I stayed in was excellent with air-conditioning and a comfortable bed and hammock outside if needed. While at Oarsmans I walked along the beach for about 30 minutes to visit a village where I was welcomed with Bula by everyone I saw and even some I did not see who were inside houses, this walk along the beach needs to be done at low tide. There was excellent snorkelling on a reef straight off the beach in front of the resort. The next stop was the Korovou Eco-Tour Resort. The accommodation and meals were very good, however the bar only had beer and soft drinks, no spirits. The cost included a trip to the Coral Gardens and was well worth the trip there was no ladder to get back into the boat, which may be a problem for some people. There was an excellent reef directly in front of the lodge for some great snorkelling. The last resort was the Beach Comber Island Resort. The Bure I had on this island was extremely spacious and was on a beautiful white sandy beach, just a couple of metres from the water. There is a definite party atmosphere on this island. The food was OK and served buffet style. An included cruise on the Seapspray was very good and included an amazing lunch cooked barbeque style on the back of the boat. While the transfer from hotel to the port and to and from the islands were very professional, efficient and seamless, there was a slight problem on my return transfer , where I was dropped off at a hotel and then I was supposed to have a pre booked and paid for taxi for my final transfer to my hotel. There was no taxi waiting, as promised, and there was a stressed lady who was already at the hotel waiting for a taxi as well, which of course never arrived and we were fortunate to be staying at the same hotel and shared the taxi fare. In the scale of the whole trip this was a minor inconvenience and did not detract from the overall experience and I would definitely recommend this trip to everyone.
