Nous nous amuserons à goûter la cuisine régionale traditionnelle des temps anciens que l'on retrouve sur les marchés et aussi dans ceux qui sont aujourd'hui considérés comme les meilleurs restaurants du pays. Nous n'avons aucune limite en matière de nourriture et nous voulons tout vous montrer. Même si vous ne vous considérez pas comme un « gourmet » et que vous recherchez simplement une expérience culturelle intéressante, vous apprécierez cette visite !!

Itinéraire
Point de rendez-vous : Parc Cerrillo (Parque del Cerrillo) Nous nous retrouverons au Kiosko situé au centre du parc, c'est en face de la belle église. Notre expert gastronomique vous attendra. Une fois prêts, nous nous présenterons et parlerons de nos recommandations à suivre pendant la promenade.
Notre première visite sera de goûter la cuisine traditionnelle Coleta. Nous parcourrons le marché pour tout savoir sur les ingrédients que nous allons essayer lors de notre visite. Nous parlerons également de la quantité d'herbes et d'épices utilisées à des fins curatives, car dans cette région, la médecine ancestrale a survécu à la modernisation du secteur pharmaceutique. Nous découvrirons les produits de l'État et profiterons ainsi des ingrédients les plus frais lors de notre séjour.
Lors de notre prochain arrêt, nous goûterons aux soupes qui apportent de la joie par leurs saveurs et réchauffent nos âmes avec leurs arômes ! Nous goûterons à la traditionnelle soupe chipilin ainsi qu'à d'autres bouillons réputés de la région. Nous profiterons de l'incroyable terrasse de ce lieu pour parler des lieux d'intérêt à l'intérieur et à l'extérieur de San Cristobal.
Lors de notre troisième arrêt, nous goûterons le mole coleto, ainsi que différentes sauces qui couvrent les principaux plats régionaux. Nous nous promènerons dans des rues qui nous permettent de parler de l'histoire de San Cristobal à travers son architecture, ses détails et son incroyable art urbain. La ville possède des peintures murales réalisées par des artistes du monde entier.
Lors de notre prochain arrêt, nous dégusterons une cuisine internationale. San Cristobal est fièrement considérée comme la capitale du multiculturalisme au Chiapas, heureusement pour les gourmands, qui viennent de loin, apportent avec eux des recettes qui remplissent nos ventres d'amour ! Et sur nos marchés, ils trouvent tout ce dont ils ont besoin pour concrétiser leur projet.
Nous terminerons notre visite en visitant différents endroits où nous dégusterons les desserts qui font la joie de toutes sortes d'occasions ! C'est un crime à la fin d'un bon repas de ne pas prendre une bonne tasse de café ou de chocolat chaud avec soi !! Ce sera comme la cerise sur le gâteau.

We had a wonderful experience. Abner was pleasant, patient and knowledgeable. Our tour was longer than we planned and all samplings were unique and tasty. The mole and empanadas were the highlights of the day.

This was a wonderful experience! Julio was an incredible guide who shared his passion and knowledge of the food and culture of the Chiapas region. Our time with Julio (and his wife Clemence) has been one of the highlights of our time in Mexico and we would recommend it to everyone! We learnt about the quality and heritage of all the ingredients; we explored the local markets, went to oldest hotel in San Cristobal where we tasted a range of Poxna spirits, had the best burritos in town, and experienced the incredible flavours at Jangala, Julio’s ethical chocolate company. (There was no hard sell, just passion and great taste) Simply do this tour with Julio and experience the flavours of Chiapas for yourself.
We had Itzel all to ourselves and it made for an incredibly special evening. She has the rare gift of making a tour feel nothing like a tour – by the end of the night it genuinely felt like a friend had taken us out for dinner and drinks in her city. The food was brilliant, her knowledge was effortless, and her warmth made the whole thing. An absolute highlight of our time in San Cristóbal
Extremely disappointed. Our guide was pleasant enough but for our money we got 1 plate of indifferent pasta, 1/3 of a burrito and fries, a shot of posh, and some tapas type meats ( these were the best bit). It can’t have cost more than £30 in total. She clearly hadn’t prearranged anything so she was constantly calling/messaging friends to get us in to places. It was without doubt the worst food tour we’ve ever done. With the exception of the lovely man at the Alchemist who gave us a comprehensive explanation about the distillation of posh we experienced nothing.
We had a fabulous afternoon being shown around the markets and local shops that would have been otherwise difficult to find. Our host was informative and enthusiastic. She seemed to know everyone in town, being warmly greeted with multiple suggestions of places to eat outside of the tour. We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. A fabulous way to introduce yourself to this city by a fantastic guide.
Tour guide was ok. Didn’t follow the itinerary outlined on the tour brochure, which was ok. However, he never asked us what kinds of food we were interested in experiencing. He wasn’t creative and seem to be just going thru the motions.
We had a wonderful walk through the market and city. We ate and drank in 5 different locations. We liked it very much, ending with a cold beer overlooking the city.
Not to be missed. Korina took us all over San Chris, showing us the hidden gastronomical gems. You will see the amazing markets and taste regional delicacies. Don’t miss and ask for Korina. She was just wonderful!!
I had a great time with Food Tours San Cristobal de las casas! Abner, my guide, curated a feast across town that felt more like a delicious treasure hunt than a tour. We started with a bang at a restaurant serving Yucatán cuisine, and it only got better from there. Abner shared stories, history, and his knowledge of local herbs and flavors as we made our way to many tucked away gems. We stopped for delicious natural chocolate handmade by the sweetest abuelita, stopped for a cheeky tequila, sampled a funky little pan made with pulque, and dipped into more salsas than I could count. San Cristóbal is a dream for foodies! There’s global variety everywhere mixed with Chiapas soul. This tour is the perfect way to dive in. 10/10 recommend to book it when you arrive so you can revisit all of the great stops!
