The tour guide was amazing and deserves a 1.5 million dollar raise
This tour was cancelled by the operator and it was not taken. Unfortunately I was unable to other arrangements for I did not see the cancellation email until late at night. I did see another tour I would have been interested in but it was a nonrefundable tour and didn’t want to chance it
The driver was friendly and also tour guide knew a lot to tell and even make a rainy day a sunny day
My main issue is we did not get the tour experience that we were sold. Aside from that, what was provided was great. The van was nice and air conditioned, our driver was punctual and extremely friendly. He picked us up at 9am on the dot and drop us back off at our hotel at 1pm...total of 4 hours, bit short of the 5 to 6 hours mentioned in the tour description. The tour mentions 4 stops; 1. Sigatoka (45 minutes), 2. Korolevu (40 minutes), 3. Natadola Beach (2 hours) & 4. Baravi Handcrafts & Cafe (15 minutes) - The itinerary on our confirmation page did mention stop #4 was optional. Not sure what made this optional, time remaining ? I don't know, nothing was mentioned as we drove passed it. We ended up only stopping at 2 of the 4 locations mentioned; 2. Korolevu-Maui Bay Jetty (15 minutes) & 3. Natadola Beach (1.5 hours) It was a disappointing ride back as we though we had another beach to visit only to find out the first stop (bridge photo op) was the first beach. Not sure how you are supposed to set up and go snorkeling in the allotted 15 minutes we ere given. It might have been due to the wind that day, but give us the option if we want to leave early. Tough to recommend when you don't get what you are sold. I hope they correct this or at least change the description in their tour posting to be more accurate.
Can’t say I recommend this tour. Most of the tour was spent in the car and the time we spent out of the car was short. According to the description we should have had two beach stops, walked around rugby town and had the opportunity to eat and make a coffee stop. We did not do this. Our first stop was at a beach (the one they use to advertiser this tour) we were only allowed 15 minutes here so no way that’s enough time to get in the water to swim or snorkel. We passed through rugby town but were not giving the option to stop just wave at it. When we made it to the beach we only allowed 90 minutes here leaving me and to believe we had another beach to go to since the description said we would have two hours at a beach. When we got back in the car we were informed we would be heading back to the hotel. The whole tour last 3-4 hours. The description said the tour would last 5-6 hours. The driver did offer lots of information about the island as we drove around but it didn’t make up for the fact the this wasn’t a beach day it was car ride. Overall I believe the description was very misleading, or the driver was just in a hurry to off load us. Our entire group (4 of us) were very disappointed.
Great opportunity to visit rural areas and towns where may Fijians live and work. The beach at Natadola was breathtaking
Sunny was a great guide and we really got to see the true Fiji. He was also on time and friendly. It was an eye-opener to see the villages near the coast and the way of living there.
This was just a okay trip and quite a way from what we were expecting. When we booked, we didn’t expect a private taxi driver to be our tour guide. The car was a bit grubby and the driver preferred the windows down, rather than aircon. Melting in the humidity and windblown hair, we would have preferred the aircon. He did ask us, but followed it straight up with the fact his ears hurt with air conditioning on. In part, the average rating was due to the disappointment of the Coral Coasts itself. I expected beautiful beaches and great snorkelling but it proved to be not like that where we were taken by our driver. We asked for the main part of the trip to be snorkelling. We hired a snorkelling mask and tube (that still had the zinc sunscreen of the previous person inside it), no fins available, and went out into quite dirty looking and smelling water. We were back within 10 minutes and opted for a beach massage instead. The massage was not too bad, but the oil smelt dreadful and was hard to wash off, even after a shower. I am not convinced that we were taken to the ‘best white sandy beach on the mainland’ as was advertised, rather a place where our taxi driver knew the people and got a kickback. We were fending off requests to ride horses along the beach also. Our driver was friendly and gave commentary along the way. He also said his wife ran a business from home where she cooked traditional Indian food and guests went there to eat. He asked us multiple times if we wanted to eat as his house, to which we declined bring two females. When passing the house of his father, he asked if we wanted to stop for a cold drink. I think his hospitality was genuine, but still a little concerning for us. Overall, we left the tour glad that it was over. The Coral Coast Venture was disappointing for us.
We did the Fiji Coral Coast Venture. Absolutely amazing and very beautiful. Sunny was an awesome guide and full of local knowledge. Highly recommend him and Iconic Tours.
Singatoka. Sunny was punctual from beginning to end. We were never waiting for him. He was excited and upbeat all day, even when we were getting tired. He took us to Natadolq Harbour for beautiful snorkelling, pottery village, waterfall, jetty another village and waited also for us to have lunch in Singatoka town. Weather was windy all day and overcast from lunch time. So glad we booked the tour as when we arrived back to where we’re staying, everyone was a bit depressed and bored with the weather. We said we’ve been snorkelling and had a great day… needless to say, they were jealous.
