La poterie de cette région remonte à 2000 av. J.-C., à l'époque hittite. Tout au long de l'histoire, l'être humain a été créatif en utilisant les ressources fournies par le sol pour son propre bénéfice dans la vie quotidienne. Depuis des siècles, les populations locales prennent cette argile et utilisent de vieilles roues de poterie traditionnelles pour fabriquer divers articles tels que des cruches à vin, des ustensiles de cuisine et des souvenirs depuis que la Turquie a adopté le tourisme.

Started off well but was extremely rushed experience of actual pottery, main focus was to sell their handmade goods which were overpriced. Pushy with sales and no interest shown in tour once we said we were not interested in buying a £400 wine decanter. Avoid

Bekir was the perfect tour guide to take us to our pottery class and to love valley afterwards. He was so friendly and knowledgeable of the area, we couldn’t have asked for anything better than him.

Bekir picked us up on time, brought us to the pottery workshop, we were given time to look at everything and afterwards Bekir drove us to the Red Valley for traditional wine and snack tasting. We really liked it, thank you Bekir, we can highly recommend the tour.

We were picked up on time. The pottery factory was very interesting. The prices are high but the quality of the work is amazing and there was no pressure to buy. It was really fun to try to throw a piece on the pottery wheel. On the way back to Goreme we stopped at a beautiful viewpoint and had a glass of local wine and some snacks. Overall a great experience. Can totally recommend.

The drive to and from was great. Talking to Bekir Kaynak who is local and speaks Spanish was great as we were able to know more facts about the region, culture and gastronomy. The activity was brief but pleasant.
