We rented a Slingshot for a day. The weather was great, so we planned to explore the entire north side of Maui. This is the ideal area for the Slingshot. Lots of curves in sunshine, that's how it should be. I can only recommend this to everyone, even if the fun isn't exactly cheap. You can choose between a manual or an automatic vehicle. We opted for the manual transmission so that we could have more fun. And we did, even though the engine on the Slingshot is quite sluggish.
The rental for the Slingshot with the rep was so fast and easy. Just like it was driving this machine! My wife and I had a great time on Maui, driving this thing around.
Rented slingshot on big island. Worst experience and they never contacted us back when we reached out. Polaris was filthy, never cleaned, sunscreen everywhere, used old Covid masks on the floor, the key was broken so we couldn’t even get out and lock our stuff up and go into a store without bringing our backpacks and everything with us. The transmission made a loud screaming sound in 2nd and 3 rd gear and the slingshot shakes at 50 mph speeds. It was embarrassing to drive. We returned our rental hours before it was over. Reached out to the company for a refund or atleast a half refund and they never even responded. Worst rental experience ever.
Great experience from check-in to drop off. Slingshots are fun and so should be the process of renting and getting on the road. We ripped around north and west Maui, Honoapilani Hwy to Kahekili Hwy and were rewarded with tight roads with beautiful ocean vistas. It poured rain, which made it all the more exhilarating. We got very WET, so if you’re made of sugar I suggests only sunny day rentals. We had a few opportunities to open up the Slingshot and it was surprisingly quick and tracked straight and was stable. The brakes were excellent - just what you want when heading into a corner with a 200 ft drop into a deep ocean abyss. Aloha Motorsports has brand new, very well maintained inventory of both manual (yes please), and automatic Slingshot R’s. Can’t say enough good things about the professionalism of this business and their team.
Loved the experience. Perfect vehicle for getting around Maui. Loved having the openness and the fresh air. Definitely recommend it
Terrible policy. Rented 4 cars, needed to cancel 1 because my husband broke his hand. Would not budge on a refund, really??!! Even after getting our business on the other 3?
