We really enjoyed the Little Africa tour in Rio. Although there was a bit of miscommunication with the tour management beforehand, our guide, Val, more than made up for it. She was incredibly knowledgeable, engaging, and passionate about the history and culture of the area. What made the experience especially meaningful was Val's deep connection to the community and people everywhere went. Her personal ties and local perspective added an authenticity that brought each site to life in a way that wouldn't have been possible otherwise. We learned so much and came away with a much greater appreciation for this important part of history. Highly recommended, especially if you're fortunate enough to have Val as your guide.
Hello Candice, Thank you very much for your feedback. We're truly happy to hear that you enjoyed your experience with us. We also wanted to follow up regarding the somewhat confusing start to the day. Unfortunately, our guide was involved in a minor accident on her way to the tour. She was understandably shaken by the situation and was unable to notify us immediately. At first, we believed she was already on his way to meet you at the designated meeting point. When we realized something was wrong, we contacted her right away to understand what had happened. From that moment on, we coordinated his arrival while keeping you updated as much as possible, letting you know how far she was from your location and when he was expected to arrive. We sincerely apologize for this initial delay. In most cases, our guides arrive well in advance of the meeting time. In fact, Val usually arrives more than an hour early to ensure everything runs smoothly. Unfortunately, on that particular day, she experienced an unexpected situation, and we had to manage her arrival as quickly and efficiently as possible to minimize any disruption to your tour. If our communication felt less fluid during those moments, it was because we were simultaneously assisting her, coordinating alternatives, and trying to determine the fastest and safest way for her to reach you. Sometimes, in situations like these, we do not immediately have all the information ourselves. Fortunately, she was able to arrive shortly afterward and provide the complete experience that we strive to deliver to all of our guests. We know that delays can be disappointing, and for that we sincerely apologize. At the same time, We are very grateful that the situation was resolved and that you were able to enjoy such a meaningful day with her. It was a pleasure to meet you and to have the opportunity to share Rio de Janeiro with you. Should you return to Rio in the future, please know that you can always count on us. We care deeply about our guests' experiences and always do our best to manage any unexpected challenges that may arise. On that day, we were doing everything possible to stay connected with both you and the guide while navigating a situation that unfolded very quickly. Thank you again for your understanding, the review and for choosing to spend your time with us.
