Dans cette visite guidée semi-privée, vous traverserez le British Museum, reliant de nombreux artefacts anciens à des vers, vous aidant à découvrir le fil conducteur qui tisse les livres et les gens ensemble. Les versets ne sont plus seulement des mots sur une page lorsque vous voyez un artefact ancien donner vie au passage. En plaçant chaque événement sur une chronologie, vous comprendrez comment ils sont liés les uns aux autres. Vous vous souviendrez des artefacts et des versets de deux façons : 1. Lisez la Bible par vous-même : Au lieu d'entendre l'interprétation du Guide, vous lirez les versets de votre propre traduction devant l'artefact. Vous vous souviendrez mieux de l'artefact et du verset. 2. Questionnement socratique : Au lieu d'écouter l'exposé à sens unique d'un Guide, on vous posera des questions douces qui vous inciteront à répondre. La découverte de soi est la meilleure façon d'apprendre, et en disant la réponse devant l'artefact, vous vous souviendrez mieux de l'artefact et de la réponse.

Nous commençons par les galeries assyrienne, égyptienne et grecque au rez-de-chaussée. Nous verrons 40 tonnes de bêtes lamassu assyriennes, des statues de pharaons célèbres et les sculptures du temple du Parthénon d'Athènes. Après une pause, nous montons voir les galeries romaines. Les galeries optionnelles incluent la Perse et Babylone si le temps le permet et si votre préférence le dicte. Nous examinerons les empereurs romains et les objets qui se rapportent directement à Jésus et Paul. He has an encyclopaedic knowledge of his subject, a really engaging style and a quirky sense of humour. He immediately puts you at ease and is sensitive to the pace at which you want to take the tour and your need for breaks if necessary. A guided tour filled with fascinating insights and unforgettable experiences. The British Museum holds an incredible collection of historical artifacts, and David has a unique ability to connect these discoveries to the Bible and its historical context in a way that truly brings Scripture to life. Many people know that the Bible contains cultural and historical details that were obvious to its original audience, but are often overlooked today. David explains these details with great depth and clarity. Because of this tour, I will read Paul’s letters from the Roman period with a completely new perspective, having gained a richer understanding of the archaeological and historical background connected to the time of Jesus and Paul. The same applies to the Assyrian period related to the prophets and the books of Kings, as well as Mesopotamia and Egypt in connection with the Pentateuch. David is truly a man after God’s own heart. Even though I booked a guided tour with him two years ago, I felt compelled to join another one—and I would gladly do it again in the future. His passion, knowledge, and ability to communicate history and biblical truth take these tours to another level and help ordinary people understand the Bible in a much deeper way. We have been Christians all our adult life and loved this tour. It was informative and engaging as David got us to read scriptures that matched each artefact supporting the Biblical accounts. We got a deeper understanding of characters and various nations from discovering their cultural practices and beliefs. Not only do we recommend David’s tour but we would do it again.
