Vous commencerez votre visite de la ville d'Addis-Abeba par le Musée national d'Éthiopie. C'est l'un des meilleurs musées en qualité et diversité des expositions. Parmi les objets archéologiques exposés, on peut citer le fossile de Lucy (ou Dinkinesh – « tu es merveilleux » – dans la langue maternelle), une femme hominoïde de l’espèce Australopithecus Afarensis, vieille de 3,5 millions d’années. La découverte du fossile de Lucy en 1974 a obligé à repenser complètement la généalogie humaine, à condition que nos ancêtres marchaient 2,5 millions d’années plus tôt que prévu. Le Musée national contient également de nombreux artefacts merveilleux datant de la civilisation pré-axumite.
C’est l’église la plus importante d’Ethiopie dans cette église il y a un mausolée du dernier empereur d’Ethiopie “Haile Selassie” et de sa femme également enterrée là vous aurez aussi la chance d’assister à des cérémonies religieuses en même temps
Nous monterons jusqu’à Entoto, qui était autrefois le camp permanent de l’empereur Minilik II. En fonçant sur la colline, il y a un dénivelé considérable et l'air est rempli du parfum des Eucalyptus qui couvrent la région. Depuis le sommet, il y a une vue panoramique sur la capitale et la campagne environnante.
Après le déjeuner, la visite de la ville d'Addis-Abeba se poursuit avec la visite de Merkato, le plus grand marché en plein air d'Afrique, où presque toutes les marchandises possibles sont en vente.
Le mémorial Tiglachin est un mémorial dédié aux soldats éthiopiens et cubains impliqués dans la guerre de l'Ogaden. Il a été construit sous Mengistu Haile Mariam sur Churchill Avenue à Addis-Abeba.

We had a day in Addis Ababa and wanted to experience the local sights and culture. Eyob was an excellent guide for the day. Conveniently, we were collected and dropped off at our hotel by Eyob and his driver. The itinerary sampled all aspects of the city, including the amazing market, various museums (Eyob explained the exhibits to us) and local cuisine lunch at the oldest traditional restaurant in Addis Ababa. We also experienced the superb coffee at a local coffee shop, Ethiopia being the home of coffee. A great day out!

I have a slightly funny story with Eyob - we first connected online about a year and a half ago, and only now I finally made it to Addis Ababa. And… it was absolutely the right call. Eyob is an outstanding guy who genuinely knows and loves his country. He goes out of his way to make things work for you - suggesting itineraries, helping with accommodation, and structuring your time so efficiently that you’re back at the airport two hours before departure, while still exploring the surroundings just a few hours earlier. He puts in real effort. He knows what’s worth seeing and what can be skipped. Conversations with him are easy and engaging, and at the same time he adds just enough context and facts so you actually understand what’s happening around you. One of the best fixers I’ve worked with and traveled with. Thanks to him, I regret only one thing - that my time in Ethiopia was so short. And also thanks to him, I know I’ll be back. I had a great experience with Eyob Tesfaye during my city tour in Addis Ababa. He’s a really cool and easygoing person, which made the whole day enjoyable. What I liked the most is that he actually studied tourism and history, so he really knows what he’s talking about. I’m honestly not a big fan of museums or history, but he made it interesting and fun. The way he explains things and tells stories keeps you engaged and not bored at all. Because of him, I actually enjoyed visiting the Ethiopian Museum, which I didn’t expect. I definitely recommend Eyob if you’re visiting Addis Ababa.
