Óbidos est une ville pittoresque située à l'ouest du Portugal, connue pour son architecture médiévale bien préservée et son atmosphère charmante. Située au sommet d'une colline, Óbidos est entourée d'un mur fortifié datant du XIIe siècle. Paul was an excellent guide. He took us on a private tour of Nazare and Obidos. He has a lot of history guiding tours and it was obvious that he knows the material. Very accommodating and kind! Wonderful man!!

Our tour guide was very good but the tour company knowingly sent him out in a car that was leaking oil. This became the concern of the entire trip, and we stopped more than once to add oil. Considering that we paid a fortune for a private tour this was not acceptable.

It was truly a private tour. We were picked up at our hotel in a very comfortable car. Ismael was our driver and tour guide and told us a lot about the history of the towns. We were able to explore on our own as well.

We had limited time in Portugal and wanted to see Nazare and Óbidos and we could fit this 1/2 day tour in our schedule. It was enjoyable but we felt rushed, although not the fault of the guide, we just personally needed more time at these places, especially Nazare. Our guide pointed out points of interest in Obidos but in Nazare we felt we were on our own. Part of the problem was most of the restrooms were locked and we used up most of our hour trying to find an open restroom.

If you can, request Ismael. So knowledgeable and friendly. The tour was great, and he made sure to point out cultural things like the dried fish that was out on display in Nazare. So many things really that I don't know where to begin. In fact, at Nazare the waves were rather uneventful the day we went, but Ismael had videos and prior photos of days when they were bigger and sent them to me which I did not ask for. I appreciated that so much. Portugal is beautiful- can't wait to go back.

Ismael picked me up promptly at my scheduled time and location in a new and clean Tesla. He was welcoming, friendly, and knowledgeable. I got to see all my must-see spots and more. The entire experience was stress free and delightful. I highly recommend it for folks who want a solo/small group experience that’s somewhat similar to an “uber black” experience. I will be coming back to experience the chill charm of Portugal.
