Expérience Pesto des Cinque Terre à Riomaggiore

Description

So much fun! Luca was awesome! So much info and delicious pesto lunch. Can’t recommend enough. Was one of our favorite days!
The event was so much fun! Luca did a great job explaining the process and the finished product was delicious.
Luca was a great host. Very nice and accommodating. We took the wrong train and ended up being late but he still allowed us to have this experience, which was very kind. He was interactive, insightful and fun! The pesto was amazing, so glad we were able to learn from him.
Luca was warm, welcoming, and very knowledgeable about regional Italian cuisine. He was fully prepared for the lesson and very engaged throughout the entire experience. The pesto we created together was fresh and delicious as were the beverages which we deeply appreciated on a warm day. If you are looking for an authentic, small village cooking lesson, I highly recommend Cooking With Luca.
Luca is a wonderful teacher and very engaging. We laughed the whole time we were there, and the pesto we made was FANTASTIC!
Luca had interesting knowledge of the history of Pesto as well as the ingredients. It was a fun class with a delicious finish!
Lucca was very informative and we enjoyed the time he took to educate us on the history of pesto. We had the best time making pesto and eating it too! We highly recommend this class.
We ended up being the only people at our class which was great! Luca is so knowledgeable about the history and preparation of pesto. It was fun to learn about that while also learning to make it. We had great conversation as well and truly enjoyed ourselves.
Luca was very rude to us and we didn't even participate in the class. I understand it says timing is not flexible, however, I sent a message because our shuttle was late to pick us up and then the train was late as well. We got to the town and the map provided was very difficult to understand as the landmarks on the map were not easy to find. We were 25 min late and we were essentially running to find the location. We rang the bell upon arrival and Luca just yelled out from the top floor saying we were too late to participate. Again, I understand timing is considered not flexible but I was messaging him explaining the situation. The class was supposed to be 1.5h so I don't understand why we couldn't play catch up or something else. The vibe was very negative from him. We paid for this experience and it would have been more understandable if he came down to us and said "listen, I'm sorry but we don't have enough time for the class, here is the foccacia (that we were supposed to receive), but we need to cancel." Instead it was a very harsh.. "YOURE TOO LATE". it took us an hour to get from monterosso to Riomaggiore, so give yourself PLENTY of time to get there...even though we thought an hour would be plenty
Good evening, I’m sorry that you are angry and you write these things but it would have been better for you to reply to my e-mail with a simple "we apologize, we’re on the way" and I would have waited for you, as I always do. Unfortunately you didn’t answer me anything and that’s not very kind. As written in the welcome message, the time is not flexible and over 15 minutes delay the class is considered cancelled. Nothing is due with a delay of 25 minutes (and I don’t have to stop working with the other guests to bring you some focaccia, which I don’t use since I always make a plate of pasta --- this shows that you haven’t even read the profile). Personally I think this review inappropriate; you arrived late (and unfortunately the transportation or how you arrive at my home is your problem) disregarding everything that I had written to you and not even answering my messages. All the best
Luca was an incredible host. We have a new appreciation for pesto and its history. The experience made us want to make more pesto. Highly recommend this experience. We would do this again! Thanks for welcoming us into your home.
