Fantastic experience overall. Got to swim with black tipped sharks in a snorting reef excursion in a memorable trip to Kuata. The hosts were very welcoming and the lunch buffet was excellent with a nice variety of food. Nice thing is they pick you up right at the front to your resort take you to the port and take you on your trip to the island. Would try this again!
Kuata Island is stunning!! So beautiful and the beautiful people were so welcoming!! They greeted us with singing on the beach!! I decided to snorkel with sharks instead of the presentation with the marine biologist, and it was no problem!! Snorkel with sharks was amazing and I felt very safe!! We saw several sharks!! Such a cool experience that I will never forget!! Lunch was the most amazing meal and best I have had in Fiji so far!! Great food and great service!! Highly, highly recommend!!
Bula Vinaka June_R, Vinaka vakalevu for your amazing review! We’re delighted to hear you had such a memorable experience at Kuata Island and enjoyed the warm island welcome, beautiful surroundings, and friendly team. It’s wonderful that your snorkelling with sharks was both exciting and felt safe, and that you had such a close encounter with marine life. We’re also very pleased to know you enjoyed the lunch and found it to be one of the best meals you’ve had in Fiji — that’s fantastic feedback for our culinary team. Thank you for your high recommendation, and we hope to welcome you back again for another unforgettable Fijian adventure! Warm Regards!
I lucked out and was the only person on the tour, so had guides Akex and Vinna all to myself! They educated me about the reef and then we snorkeled out to see it up close. It was one of the best snorkel tours I've ever been on. Abundant coral, of all sizes, shapes and colours. Lot of beautiful fish. Lunch and the cruise to/from Kuata Island were also great
Bula Vinaka Vasile_K, Vinaka vakalevu for sharing your wonderful experience! We’re thrilled to hear that you had such a special and personalised day on the Kuata Island Marine Conservation Experience. It’s fantastic that Akex and Vinna made the tour so memorable, and that you enjoyed learning about the reef and exploring the vibrant coral and marine life up close. We’re also glad you enjoyed the lunch and cruise. We truly appreciate your kind words and hope to welcome you back for another unforgettable adventure in Fiji! Warmest Regards!
Everything was very organized, from hotel pickup until the arrival at Kuata. South Sea Cruises really did a great job! The boat is like a public sea transportation. It stops in few islands. But don't worry, there's a clear instruction in the boat. You won't miss Kuata island. Kuata is a paradise! The staffs were so nice and friendly. Lunch was also good. I would love to stay for few days there.
ula Vinaka Gizelle_Y, Thank you for sharing your wonderful feedback! We’re delighted to hear that you enjoyed your Kuata Island Marine Conservation Experience and found the day well-organized from hotel pickup to arrival on the island. It’s fantastic that you loved Kuata and had such a positive experience with our friendly team and enjoyed the lunch provided. We completely understand wanting to stay longer—it really is a little piece of paradise! We look forward to welcoming you back to explore more of Fiji’s beautiful islands in the future. Vinaka vakalevu,
My partner and I did the Kuata Island Marine Conversation Experience and had an amazing time! It was really interesting to learn about the local marine environment and more detail about coral. The talk by the Marine Biologist Rosanna before the guided snorkel with her made it so much more interesting because you saw everything she had already explained, so it all just clicked. It really was a great learning experience! So cool to see the efforts of protecting and restoring the coral reef by growing and replanting the coral. The bonus was seeing 5 black tip reef sharks during low tide at the end of our snorkel. I’d recommend this to anyone who wants to not just see a coral reef but also learn about all the ins and outs! We hope to visit again in the future.
Bula Vinaka 439kaylenep, Thank you for your fantastic review! We’re so pleased to hear that you and your partner had such an amazing and insightful experience on the Kuata Island Marine Conservation trip. It’s wonderful to know that Rosanna’s talk enhanced your snorkelling experience and helped bring the reef to life. We’re delighted you enjoyed learning about the coral restoration efforts and even had the bonus of spotting black tip reef sharks—what a memorable highlight! Your recommendation means a lot, and we look forward to welcoming you back to Kuata in the future for another inspiring and educational day in paradise. Vinaka vakalevu,
I was staying at Kuata and booked the Marine Conservation tour. This far exceeded expectations with a small group of 5 plus our very own marine biologist! The talk before hand was informative and interesting. I learnt so much about coral. The boat tour took us to two snorkel locations where we found 6 crown of thorns starfish killing coral to remove, saw the best coral I have ever seen, learnt more about fish species from marine biologist Rosanna snorkelling with us and even saw a couple of reef sharks! Highly recommend this tour! Thank you to the team. Even better than a day trip.. stay a night or two!
Bula Vinaka Debbie, Thank you so much for your wonderful review and for recommending the Kuata Island Marine Conservation Experience. We’re thrilled to hear that the tour exceeded your expectations and that you enjoyed learning about coral and marine life with our expert marine biologist, Rosanna. It’s fantastic that you got to see the vibrant coral reefs, helped remove crown of thorns starfish, and even spotted reef sharks during your snorkeling adventure. We completely agree—staying overnight on Kuata truly enhances the experience. Thank you again for choosing to explore with us, and we hope to welcome you back for another unforgettable visit. Warm regards,
We booked three snorkeling tours for our first trip to Fiji: the Authentic Fijian Day Cruise (by Cruisin Fiji), the Kuata Island Marine Conservation Experience, and the Mantaray Island Day Trip. This one was by far the best. Don't get me wrong, the Cruisin Fiji people took us to excellent sites as well, but when it comes to snorkeling, nothing beats an MPA (marine protected area). It was simply stunning. It was, in some ways, better than Hawaii. Another plus? There was only two of us that day, so it basically became a private tour with a marine biologist (whose name was Oz, and he was wonderful!). We got to plant a few coral fragments and removed a crown-of-thorns starfish (Oz did it, not us, of course!). Thank you Oz and all the friendly staff at Barefoot Kuata who made this wonderful experience possible! My boyfriend is already talking about going back and staying at the Barefoot Kuata next time...
Wonderful experience! Rosanna and her colleague are very knowledgeable and it was awesome to snorkel around the bay while being able to ask questilns about the marine life.
Bula Clavin, Thank you so much for your kind words! We're thrilled to hear you had a wonderful time snorkeling and we are happy that Rosanna and the team shared their knowledge, and it's great that you enjoyed learning about the marine life. Hope to see you again for another adventure in the near future. Vinaka Vakalevu!
I loved every moment it was an experience of a life time I can’t wait to return and visit again next time I will stay on the island not just visit for the day . It was so beautiful and everyone was so helpful and friendly ! Thank you so much!
Bula Vinaka 63PP, We are so glad you that you had such a memorable time! It’s always wonderful to hear how beautiful and welcoming a place can be. Staying on the island next time sounds like a fantastic idea as there is so much more to explore and enjoy. Thank you for sharing your experience, and I’m sure your next visit will be even more incredible! Look forward to your return to paradise soon. Vinaka
A fun day out beyond the Mamanucas to the base of the Yasawas. Very relaxing boat trip, and once on the island treated to delicious food. Cocktails were terrific! A beautiful island. I enjoyed the kayaking & paddle boarding . Met new people. All good.
