Description
Belém est l'un des ex-libris de la capitale portugaise, le lieu d'où les marins du XVIe siècle ont commencé leurs voyages vers le nouveau monde. Cette visite commence par un trajet en tramway et comprend des visites guidées du monastère des Hiéronymites, du musée de la calèche et du monument des découvertes (extérieur).

Le National Coach Museum rassemble une collection unique d'autocars au monde. Du XVIe au XIXe siècle, certains des plus anciens autocars du monde se trouvent ici.
Classé par l'Unesco comme site du patrimoine mondial. Le monastère des Hiéronymites est l'une des réalisations de l'architecture portugaise et européenne de son temps, affirmant à la fois le caractère unique de sa propre expression artistique, l'architecture manuéline et son inscription sur la cour gothique internationale. Ce grand édifice religieux était historiquement associé aux premiers marins en tant qu'explorateurs, car c'est à partir de là que les navigateurs portugais ont commencé leur voyage vers le nouveau monde.
D'une hauteur de 52 mètres, le Monument aux Découvertes est un hommage à tous les Portugais qui ont participé au grand voyage maritime des XVe et XVIe siècles.
La pâtisserie de Belém est l'endroit où vous pourrez déguster les pâtisseries les plus réputées du pays. Inauguré en 1837, recréant chaque jour les pâtisseries de Belém selon une ancienne recette du monastère des Hiéronymites. Une des grandes merveilles culinaires du Portugal, le pastel saupoudré de cannelle de nata (pastel à la crème), avec sa croûte feuilletée et son centre crémeux.

Half a day in the area of Bethlehem with a lot to appreciate and learn from the Alcides. Visit to the new museum of the Coches, priority entry to the pastels of Bethlehem and visit to the monastery of Jerónimos.
This is our First time to Portugal and Alcides was an Amazing tour guide. His knowledge of gothic and classical architecture, the names of the architects and the general knowledge of the city's history made the Belem experience one of the highlights of our Vacation. We also got VIP treatment at Pastéis de Belem and got to skip ahead in the line for pastries and coffee! The Coach Museum was also a unique experience and definitely worth the visit. I also rather enjoyed the trip back to the hotel through the narrow streets of Chiado. His maneuvering of the person passenger van was rather skillful and impressive! We are coming back through Lisbon at the end of our Vacation and may call Alcides to schedule a trip to Fatima and Nazaré. All in all a 5 star rating
Alcido our tour guide is fantastic. we board a tram so we truly experienced Lisbon! the cathedral is beautiful beyond words and he expertly described the details and history. The Belem pastry at Belem pasteria is excellent and part of our tour! Yummy. do not miss this! the Coach Museum with antigue carriage coaches is impressive - any car enthusiast and non-car enthusiast would love this museum.
The tour was wonderful, Portugal is beautiful, my guide Mr. Alcides flower was impeccable, very experienced and kind made our stay unforgettable. The highlight was the Pastel of Bethlehem in Bethlehem, there is no better in the world...
