It was enjoyable day, but a long drive out and back. Not as many penguins as during mating season when the estimate there are 107,000 in the colony. The site it self was very well organized with the safety of the penguins in mind
Thank you for your feedback. We’re glad to hear that you enjoyed the day and appreciated how well the site is organized with the safety of the penguins in mind. Punta Tombo can indeed involve a longer drive, but it is one of the most important penguin colonies in Patagonia. We hope you had a memorable experience observing these incredible animals in their natural habitat.
Great day in Punta Tombo with an excellent guide, Leila, who gave us lots of information about Patagonia, penguins, guanacos and birds.
Merci beaucoup pour votre commentaire ! Nous sommes ravis que vous ayez apprécié votre journée à Punta Tombo et les explications de Leila sur la Patagonie et sa faune. Au plaisir de vous accueillir à nouveau en Patagonie !
Great time with the penguins. Be prepared for mile and 1/2 walk. Definitely worth the 2 hr drive each way
Thank you for your feedback! We’re happy to hear you had a great time with the penguins. The walk and the drive are definitely worth it for such a unique wildlife experience. We hope to welcome you again on another adventure! 🐧
While this is a long ride to the main attraction it goes rather quickly with the guide giving information and telling you about the area. Folks should know there are rest stops provided going to and from the main destination -plus one available at the site.
Thank you for your comments! We’re glad the guide’s explanations made the journey enjoyable, and we appreciate you highlighting the rest stops available along the way and at the site.
Nice up-close view of Magellanic penguin. Guide was knowledgeable and energetic. Bus microphone system, unfortunately, made high pitch noise all the way.
Thank you for your feedback! We’re glad you enjoyed the close-up views of the Magellanic penguins and the guide’s enthusiasm 🐧 We apologize for the microphone issue and have shared it with our team to improve the service.
Our tour guide and driver were great (Cecilia and Lace). They were to quick to get us on the van and headed towards Punta Tombo. Because of this we were some of the first visitors (before the mass of buses came). The closeness and quantity of the penguins in their natural environment make this a must do. The box lunch consisted of 2 sandwiches (ham/cheese and cut up chicken- one of each), bottled water, fruit, dessert, a granola bar… Yes the ride is long. It is about the penguins not the ride there.
Thank you for your review! We’re glad you enjoyed the early visit to Punta Tombo with Cecilia and Lace and the amazing penguin experience. We appreciate you sharing your feedback!
Although it was a 2 & a half hour drive to get to Porto Tombo it passed quickly & it was well worth it. The penguins & the walk to see them was fantastic. Got some great photos & video. Our guide was great & so was our packed lunch. He even gave us a quick drive around Puerto Madryn before we got back on the ship. Highly recommend!
Thank you so much for visiting us. We appreciate your time to write this review and we want to thank you for trusting in our company.
We were part of a tour with Javier booked with Vos del Mar tours. Marina the owner was amazing throughout the booking keeping us up to date. The day if the tour arrived and we took the walk to the end of the pier where there were people waiting to take us to the bus. The trip to Punta Tombo takes two and a half hours with a couple of photos stops on the way. The National reserve costs 18000 Uruguayan pesos. It was amazing you are walking among penguins all the way down the path. They have right of way and you can't stray off the path, the Magellan penguin is only 2 ft high and the sound like small donkeys when they communicate. It was totally amazing. On return to the bus we were given our box lunch chicken sandwich with carrot and lentils. Fresh cherries and bottled water. Vos Dal Mar Tours were excellent from beginning to end.
excellent visit, having the penguins next to one. very good infrastructure. I was in my own car. an hour and a half from port madryn, last 20 km of ripio
Excellent tour, I recommend it 200% The Tour Guide, Lucas, very friendly and very knowledgeable... everything very well explained. Punta Tombo is a beautiful area, and seeing the penguins so close was a win-win!!!
