The primary picture for this excursion shows the Myvatn Nature Baths. When we inquired about this stop, we were told that there would not be much time and that we would need to find our own transportation back to our cruise ship. Upon returning home, I find that the now-renamed "Earth Lagoon" is "currently closed due to construction and will reopen this summer." We booked this tour specifically because the excursion included a one-hour stop at the geothermal pool. Very disappointing to find out that this highlight activity was not included. Overall, the mud pools and vents were the only real highlight. The cave and rift are interesting, but overall not worth the long drive without the expected stop at the geothermal pool.
Really great company. Booked from a cruise ship and accidentally booked the wrong date, was sorted out by Viator and the company with ease. Whole tour was great, lake myvatn was a dissapointment in our opinion a bit of a wasted spot would have preferred longer at the geological sites which are far more spectacular
Óli was an amazing guide and we thoroughly enjoyed this trip. Óli was knowledgable, friendly and brilliant to every passenger. Our start was perfect. Off the cruise ship, straight to the clearly signed kiosk, picked up a car seat for our 4yo and onto the minibus. There were 14 of us and we had an amazing time. Every stop was a wonderful sight and Óli gave us in depth knowledge and humour at each. We had bought tickets for the Myvatn baths and were the only ones to stop here. Everyone else went to the tectonic plates and caves and the photos looked amazing. However, we loved going to the baths. It would have been brilliant to have done both and we had hoped the itinerary allowed this but we really weren't disappointed. Óli was a great guide, the kiosk staff very helpful, and whilst this experience was not cheap, the sights were amazing and it was a lot cheaper than a cruise excursion.
Much better than the tour provided by cruise line. Much cheaper, minivan with local, very knowledgable guide who was an excellent driver. No worries about missing the cruise ship departure time as he had been well briefed. he was able to answer all questions and made several useful suggestions to help us get the most out of our various stops. We were met and delivered back to within 100 metres of cruise terminal.
Wonderful tour around the main spots in the area. Norbert is such a lovely guide, he will give you some insights of Iceland like a true local! He also is very attentive to timing and makes sure you come back to the cruise port on time. Well worth it, would do it again!
Brilliant, small group tour of waterfalls and magnificent scenery. Safe courteous driver and guide made it a memorable experience. Value for money.
Well worth it. We were just going to check out Godafoss Waterfall but decided to do the full tour. Amazing landscapes, moonscape, lava fields, we were transported onto a film set and so pleased we did this. Iceland and nature at its best. Our guide had a very dry sense of humour, which we appreciated.
The sites on this excursion were awesome. The guide (Birkim) surpassed our expectations with his knowledge and driving skills were top notch. So many cool places to see and got them in during this 6 hour tour.
There was a lot to see on this tour, and our guide was great at keeping the group moving. I never felt rushed and we learned a lot about Iceland between stops. The landscape was jaw droppingly gorgeous, but the absolute best part of this tour was our guide, Birkir! He kept us laughing all day and answed all of our questions with insightful information. We learned some Icelandic words and got some help with pronunciation. I highly recommend this tour to anyone visiting North Iceland!
Amazing day on a tour with 12 lovely people. Daniel was incredible. Lots of interesting information, fantastic humour an an all round perfect day. Aiming to bring my sons back next year and will definitely try and book the same tour as we enjoyed it so much. Thanks so much!
