We had a lovely visit with Marija. She is a very knowledgable guide and knows a lot about the history of the rules of the country. It's a very charming town and the castle offers a nice view. Having a complete explanation about all the displays inside the castle becomes a little boring at the end and we would've loved to have more time in Trakai. We were lucky to see the locals getting ready to celebrate the Summer Solstice.
This was a 5 star tour. Marija the guide was great, outgoing and very knowledgeable. She’s led tours for Prime Ministers and a couple from Houston. Also recommended a place for a great local lunch.
Anna, our friendly guide with a great sense of humour, provided a lot of interesting information on local and national history and culture during the excursion, which enhanced our visit to the castle at Trakai. Would highly recommend!
We paid for a van for our party of 3. Instead, we all had to cram in the back of a regular car for the long ride, while our guide had plenty of room up front with the driver. Our tour guide was not great with English. He could not answer the actual questions we asked, but instead would change the subject to some script he had memorized. In addition, he attempted to tell jokes which were racist and we did not find funny. When I contacted the vendor I got no response. I feel that I didn't get what we paid for.
Hello, we are sorry for the inconvience. The days of preparations for NATO summit all vans were busy. That is why the car was given for this short ride to Trakai. As well you had an experienced guide who actually speaks 8 languages and successfully works in tourism for more than 20 years. It is the first time when we hear complaints about his English and someone calls him a racist. We apologise if you found some jokes inappropriate, and his attmepts to provide the general tour information somehow sounded for you as a memorized script.
Nice place, beautiful castle. It is very easy to approach it by car. Nice little village Trakai around the castle, with old houses
We had a nice short drive from Vilnius to Trakai with our very knowledgeable guide, Agnes. She provided insights about all things, not limited to the Trakai sites exclusively. She also helped navigate difficult ice on the walkways with my older mother. On the way back, a stop at the Hill of Angels provided a little optimism to a grey day. All in all, a nice day!
Nice ride to the castle, guide was very knowledgeable and pleasant. Had a bite to eat and a beer at a nice little restaurant at the end of the tour .
I took this tour from Vilnius to Trakai in April 2018. We chose to take a tour with a live guide in English. Our guide, Tomas, was not very friendly. He did not talk or interact with the members of the group, and everything he said seemed to be reading from a history book. Some people asked questions, but he did not give convincing answers. In addition, he spent almost half the time of the tour texting on his cell phone. The tour itself is worth it, as the bus drops you off at the castle and the village. But I would choose the audio guide, which costs half the price. It is very easy to walk through the castle and town alone, and the quality of our guide did not make up to the price.
<p>The tour itself was great. Tomas was my guide and he is very knowledgeable. I booked this tour on viator because it was my first time traveling outside the country. I could have got the tour much cheaper if I had waited until I was in Vilnius. Next time I will wait and not book online.</p>
