This The Tour Guy/Roman Guy excursion was the best excursion we’ve ever taken from a cruise. If you’re in Civitavecchia for one day and want to see as much of Rome as possible, I can’t recommend this tour enough. Tiziano met us right outside the port exactly on time and got us into and around Rome safely and efficiently all day. Having a private driver made a huge difference. Once we arrived, Raffa took over and was simply fantastic. She has an incredible knowledge of Rome and explained the history in a way that was interesting and easy to follow. Walking through the Colosseum while hearing about the gladiators and how the arena worked was unforgettable. At the Vatican Museums, she pointed out details we never would have noticed on our own, especially the Gallery of Maps, the beautiful frescoes, and the tapestries. By the time we reached the Sistine Chapel and St. Peter’s Basilica, we felt like we were well informed and totally amazed at what we were seeing. We also had time to visit Piazza Navona and the Trevi Fountain, then enjoyed a wonderful lunch with fresh gnocchi, pizza, and gelato. The biggest takeaway is this. I honestly don’t think there is another way to see the Colosseum, Roman Forum, Piazza Navona, Trevi Fountain, Vatican Museums, Sistine Chapel, and St. Peter’s Basilica in one day from a cruise. The skip-the-line access, private transportation, and an outstanding guide made it possible. Thank you, Raffa and Tiziano, for an amazing day. We couldn’t have asked for a better introduction to Rome.

I booked this tour based ONLY on what I read from other reviews. We had 8 hours in our day to see what we could before leaving the city. I’m not sure if I was more impressed with Rome, or the incredible experience we had with Stephane!!!! EVERYTHING with Stephane was beyond what we hoped for! Stephane arrived early, had a beautiful clean modern Mercedes ready for us with cold water. Stephane shared his WiFi so I could keep up on my phone with our location in real time. He is so incredibly professional/ his knowledge of the city shows how passionate he is about its history WOW WOW WOW!!. VIP/ luxury/ 5 STAR treatment !!! My husband has some physical injuries that prevent him from doing a lot of walking but Stephane took us right up to the very front of everywhere we went so we could hop in & hop out so easily. He made it very clear where to go where he will be & we left our things in the car to prevent any pick pocket people. He took all the stress & worry out while we enjoyed every moment!!!! We were able to see more with him the way he knew the ins & outs of each street & turn. IT WAS AWESOME !!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Booking this tour during a cruise stop and was not disappointed. Luca was there before time and took us around Rome and most importantly dropped us back well in time. He personalised the day around our kids with a great lunch stop and even arranged tickets which were not available online on the official website. Highly recommended and no complaints!!!

I will say that it was the best way to see Rome in a day. Luca picked us up at the cruise port and took us to Rome where we thoroughly enjoyed all the famous sites. He also suggested a restaurant for lunch that was divine. Wow! Our group loved him for his charm and funny jokes. We definitely would reserve with Luca again. Gracias amigo.

Luca was the BEST!!! So professional so fun so entertaining and so informative! He showed us around Rome and took us to the best restaurant and gelato bar!

We had a fabulous day in Rome with Luca. Our day with Luca was very personalized and not something we would have received through a larger company. We saw all the main attractions in Rome and could take our time. I enjoyed the personal touches he included of stopping for cappuccino, booking lunch for us at a traditional trattoria, and ending our day with a stop at his favorite gelato shop (it was delicious!). My favorite stop was the keyhole to St. Peter. I had never heard of it before and awed by what I saw. Touring with Luca is like spending the day with a good friend. If you are planning a trip to Rome, book with Luca. You won't be disappointed.

A truly memorable family experience. We booked with Luca for a private tour of Rome while on a cruise holiday after reading several positive reviews online. Without question, all expectations were exceeded!! From my first outreach to Luca, I found him to be very communicative and responsive. On the day of the tour, he arrived early and was there waiting for us (with a sign, smile and even a hug) immediately when we got off of the ship. His van is great. Very clean and comfortable with good air conditioning. Luca is a very safe and responsible driver. I’ve been to Rome a few times but I feel like this is the first time that I really SAW Rome. Luca has several special (secret) stops along the way while of course seeing all of the popular sites. He is very knowledgeable and gave a terrific history of everything. He was truly wonderful with our kids. He knew exactly where to go to get the best pictures. At the end of the day, before he drive us back to our ship, Luca took us to an amazing gelato spot that the locals go to. It was delicious! I can’t say enough good things. I would highly recommend Luca to anyone looking for a perfect private tour experience in Rome.

Luca is the best!!! Took us in style and lunch was 🔥🔥🔥. I lost my hat, he found it and mailed it To me in the states! What a hero!!

Luca was very friendly, fun, accommodating, and knowledgeable about Rome. At our request, he surprised us with some alternative/local places that were charming but not overrun by tourists! We had a great time in Rome and were able to hit all the places we wanted to see. We would not hesitate to go with Luca again next time we come to Rome!
