Excursion privée en VW Coccinelle à Chichen Itza, Cenote et Valladolid

Opéré par Senor Travel Bug, l'itinéraire de cette visite est un classique de la région de Cancún et Riviera Maya, mais avec deux différences principales. Vous roulerez à bord d'une Coccinelle VW classique peinte comme une voiture de course (même si vous pouvez choisir une voiture plus 'standard' si vous préférez), et votre Guide, un ancien photographe professionnel, prendra des photos et des vidéos tout au long de la journée, qui seront toutes partagées avec vous gratuitement d'ici le lendemain. Vous ne devriez pas quitter cette région du Mexique sans visiter Chichen Itza, la seule merveille moderne du monde en Amérique du Nord. Après une visite guidée des ruines, un plongeon rafraîchissant dans un cénote s'avère toujours très bienvenu et quelque chose que vous ne pouvez vivre que dans cette région. Le dernier arrêt est à Valladolid où vous flânez dans les rues et la place principale, peut-être rafraîchissant avec une boisson fraîche à côté de la cathédrale pour terminer la visite avant le retour à Cancún. Itinéraire
Le premier lieu visité est Chichen Itza, un site classé au patrimoine mondial de l'UNESCO depuis les années 1980 et élu Merveille du monde moderne en 2007. Il est considéré comme le plus important des sites mayas, principalement parce qu'il abrite des bâtiments des deux époques mayas et donc des styles d'architecture différents reflétant l'évolution de la politique, des croyances et de la culture de 435 après J.-C. à la conquête espagnole au XVIe siècle, mais aussi pour son importance religieuse pour les Mayas en tant que lieu de pèlerinage. Contrairement à la plupart des visites guidées, Señor Travel Bug vous emmènera dans les parties les plus anciennes et les plus récentes de Chichen Itza et vous expliquera leur importance. Nous roulons pendant environ 2h45 pour arriver à Chichen Itza, selon le lieu de prise en charge.
Notre deuxième arrêt sera généralement un ou deux cénotes, et sera choisi après avoir discuté avec le visiteur de ses préférences, par exemple sauter de falaise, simplement flotter, voir des structures de grottes, etc. et pourrait avoir lieu avant ou après le déjeuner en fonction de la faim et du temps passé à Chichen Itza (un avantage d'une visite privée). Les visiteurs peuvent ensuite nager, sauter ou simplement se détendre dans les eaux fraîches des cénotes qui sont quelque peu uniques à cette région du monde. Nous roulons pendant 30 à 45 minutes après Chichen Itza pour arriver à cet endroit (selon le cénote sélectionné reflétant le style de chaque individu ou groupe (c'est-à-dire un cénote de style calme ou aventureux)
Avant ou après le cénote, nous nous arrêterons pour déjeuner, encore une fois en fonction des préférences des visiteurs. La nourriture n'est pas incluse, mais le guide fera des recommandations basées sur son expérience et ses connaissances en fonction de leurs goûts et de leur budget. Il peut s'agir de nourriture de rue (testée et approuvée), d'un restaurant local où vous pourrez visiter la cuisine et voir les tortillas être préparées, d'un restaurant maya haut de gamme ou même d'une pizzeria. Nous roulerons pendant 30 à 45 minutes pour arriver à l'heure du déjeuner, en fonction du cénote sélectionné pour votre visite privée et du choix du restaurant reflétant le goût et l'appétit des voyageurs.
La dernière étape de votre circuit classique mexicain en voiture classique mexicaine (ou alternative si vous préférez) est à Valladolid, un pueblo magique mexicain, ou « ville magique ». Valladolid est la ville coloniale espagnole la plus proche de Cancun et de la Riviera Maya, ce qui en fait une visite intéressante pour voir un autre « visage » du Mexique. Nous flânerons dans les rues les plus attrayantes de Valladolid, peut-être en parcourant ses boutiques et aussi la place centrale, et nous terminons souvent la journée avec une boisson rafraîchissante à côté de la cathédrale. Nous roulerons pendant 5 à 30 minutes pour arriver à Valladolid, et après avoir visité la ville magique, nous roulerons pendant environ 2 heures pour revenir à votre point de départ à Cancun, Puerto Morelos ou Playa del Carmen.

Our day with Paul was phenomenal. I’m an over-planner and over-thinker, so I connected with Paul months ahead of our trip, and he engaged with me immediately and continued to be a resource for questions prior to us ever meeting! Everything from booking, pick up, the tour itself, and returning to the hotel was super smooth. Zero stress from point to point. The cost of the tour is 100% aligned with value. Our day with Paul was filled with history, cultural insights, humor, and yummy food we would not have discovered without him! Our group of four opted for the Chichen Itza, Cénote, and Valldolid day, and we are so glad we did! We certainly would have booked another day with him exploring other sites and areas if we were here longer! The four of us are the on the big and tall side, so we opted for the Mitsubishi Xpander vehicle over the VERY COOL VW Bug. The ride was comfortable and quiet. This adventure was without a doubt the highlight of our visit, and should we return, we will be seeing Paul again!

The entire day was thoughtfully curated and never felt rushed or overly scripted. Paul is incredibly knowledgeable and he brought the history to life in a way that was engaging without being overwhelming, and he adjusted the depth of information based on our interests. What really stood out was how he tailored the pace of the day to us, making it feel like a truly personalized experience rather than a standard tour. Paul was recommended to us by our friend who used to work with him and we are so grateful to her for introducing us. We spent 2 full days with Paul and could have happily gone on for so many more. We cannot recommend him and his trips more highly. On the first day he took us to Chichén Itzá and on the way we got to know him whilst he explained the history of the Mayan period and that of the Yuucatan penninsula in general. Once at Chichén Itzá he continued his brilliant tour telling us about all the buildings, and combined this with his characteristic friendly and fun approach so that the whole experience was both fascinating and totally enjoyable. He was happy to go at any pace to suit our questions. After that he took us to a beautiful Cenote, timing the visit perfectly to avoid the crowds. After a delicious lunch in a restaurant he chose to suit our needs, we wandered around Valladolid with him where, once again, his immense knowledge of the area and its history made the visit brilliant. At the end of the day, driving around in his wonderful and incredibly comfortable Beetle we felt like we'd certainly made a new friend, as well as having had a perfect day. As already mentioned, we could not recommend him more highly!

What a fantastic tour from start to finish great fun! Paul was just superb from local area knowledge, to information around the ruins, He designed the tour to suit our needs and desires, kept the kids interested and included in all with interactive experiences along the way. Plus also a professional photographer so win win. The Absolute highlight of our holiday and strongly recommend to all. We Will be sure to contact Paul next time we visit Mexico again.
We had a wonderful time with Paul. We had a group of 4, and were skeptical about travelling the distance in the VW Bug, so Paul made arrangements to drive us to Chichén Itzá in a quite comfortable Audi Q5. He arrived promptly at 6:30 am, was patient with hotel security and got us on the road promptly. We made it to Chichén Itzá shortly after opening, before the vast majority of the crowds formed. He was a great guide, answered any questions we had and was very interactive. We felt very comfortable with Paul. We opted to skip the cenote experience (as we have already done similar experiences). It was great to have that flexibility. On the way to Valladolid, we stopped by a great authentic restaurant in Kaua. He showed us our lunch being prepared-handmade tortillas and pork. It was delicious. We shopped at Valladolid, ate too much, talked about our experiences and travels - and headed back. At the end of our journey, Paul sent us all the photos that he had been taking throughout the day - which was very much appreciated. I would definitely recommend Paul to my friends and family if they ever visited the area. Thanks, Paul!
