I couldn’t take the tour. No one ever answered to me. I thought it was a scam. Then they contacted me and apologized but it was too late. You need to improve your internal process and communication around last minute reservations. You ruined my day.
Let us start by saying Ana and Ryan are exceptional hosts and have a since passion and interest in the history of the Valle and the different vineyards. Undoubtedly they can organize a tour based on your interest and needs. We started with Villa Montefior and it didn’t disappoint! We had one of our favorite Nebbiolo varieties of the day by winemaker Paolo Paolini who is a pioneer in the Valle. From there we moved on to Finca La Carrodilla a leader in organic and biodynamic wine making in the region. Wonderful wines to go alongside amazing views and a cute little wedding chapel to boot. Loved the seating areas and the gardens as well. Great choice! We then went and had an awesome lunch at Michelin-rated Envero en el Valle located at the Las Nubes Winery with sweeping views of the Valle. The meal was excellent and relaxed, staff attentive and knowledgeable, just a great experience. We didn’t do a tasting but had a great glass of wine with lunch. From there we moved on to our final winery of the day which was Bodegas Magoni where we did a tasting of some wonderful wines accompanied by live music under the canopy of a 500 year old live oak tree. Amazing atmosphere! Great wine to cap off the day was a wine named Origen 43, ask Ana about it! Also sampled some wonderful olive oil from 300 year old olive trees located on the property. The day flew by as we felt like we were with old friends in Ana and Ryan. Great conversation, great itinerary, excellent correspondence and communication prior to the tour. Luxury vehicle with an awesome and safe driver in Ryan. Just an experience not to be missed. Don’t hesitate to book your wine tasting adventure, you are in great hands, and very safe. Definitely recommend this tour. Go experience an up and coming wine region that has so much to offer and let Ana and Ryan share their passion with you
We are so very thankful to Ana and Ryan for putting together a wonderful, personalized tour of the Valle de Guadalupe. From our very first contact, they were responsive, receptive to our interests, helpful with suggestions, and very organized. This was our first time visiting Ensenada and the Valle and they put together a great experience that incorporated our grape varietal interests, local culture, gorgeous scenery, and some delicious food. They were prompt with picking us up within walking distance of our cruise port and attentive to our needs along the way, including giving us some alone time to enjoy the view and fare. The car was very comfortable and they provided some much needed hydration between tastings! I so wish we had more time, but they were able to squeeze in several visits to amazing, diverse wineries and whisk us back to our cruise ship in time for re-boarding. When we come back, we'll definitely leverage Ana and Ryan's expertise once again and highly recommend them. Thanks for making this the highlight of our Mexican Riviera trip!
Ana and Ryan are very passionate about helping craft a personalized experience. They helped us choose the wineries, made appointments for seatings and tastings, and had great recommendations. Also, super organized with backgrounds of the wineries and very on time. Easy pickup right across the border.
I was initially apprehensive about traveling to Mexico due to the negative publicity, but I can confidently say we had an exceptional experience. Ana and Ryan were incredibly friendly, knowledgeable and accommodating from start to finish. They picked up in front of our hotel at 9:00 am and ensured we had a seamless and enjoyable day., returning us at 10:00 p.m. We had 3 wine tastings scheduled and were able to add a fourth one without feeling rushed. When I expressed concern about timing, Ana reassured us by saying, “this is your time to enjoy”, and that’s exactly what we did! Ana and Ryan truly elevated the entire experience with their professionalism and warm personalities . I highly recommend them to anyone looking for a personalized and well-curated wine tour with expert guidance.
We were thrilled with the trip! Our guide was super helpful, tailoring the stops to our interests. She was an absolute pleasure and a true professional. Valle de Guadalupe is a beautiful region with a vast number of wineries, each with their own character. The tasting rooms were elegant yet casual and welcoming. We look forward to taking this tour again soon.
It was an absolute pleasure showing you around the Valle de Guadalupe. Thank you for sharing your experience and the five-star review. We'd love to have you back anytime. Come back for the Rosarito Wine Festival or the many harvest festivals in the Valle during August.
My travel partner and I took a day trip to Valle de Guadalupe for first time and we were a little concerned about the safety. Ana and Ryan were amazing in helping us find great wineries and a lunch place that were unique and exactly what we were looking for. They were flexible to what we wanted and we opted for the hotel pick up in San Diego. We felt extremely safe the entire time. They were very knowledgeable about the region, the wineries and even helped us get efficiently across the border. They even did an impromptu stop to take some great scenic pics by the water. We highly recommend using them if you’re interested in a day trip into Baja.
Thank you so much for your thoughtful review! We’re really glad you chose to explore Valle de Guadalupe with us for your first visit. It’s completely natural to have questions about traveling across the border, so it means a lot to hear that you felt comfortable and safe throughout the day. We loved helping curate wineries and a Michelin-rated lunch spot that matched exactly what you were hoping to experience. Valle de Guadalupe has such a diverse and exciting wine scene, and it’s always rewarding for us to share it with first-time visitors. We’re also happy the hotel pickup and border crossing went smoothly, and that we could squeeze in that scenic stop for photos along the way—those moments often become some of the best memories of the day! Thank you again for the recommendation. It was a pleasure hosting you both, and we hope to welcome you back to Baja wine country for another adventure soon. 🍷
We had a tailored Valle Guadalupe experience tailored to our needs. This included tacos in Rosario, wine tasting at three wineries and lunch at an excellent restaurant.

Where do I start Ana & Ryan we’re incredible! Booked the tour fairly last minute for a birthday experience and they delivered. The tour was very relaxing and perfectly planned. They picked us up from our Airbnb and drove us to all the wineries. They’re so knowledge about the area and the many stops to make so they can personalize each experience. Nothing but high praises if I could give the a 8/ 5 I would. Definitely would recommend to anyone who’s fairly new to the wine tasting world or just to the area. Thank you again for an amazing experience.
Thank you so much for your wonderful review! We’re thrilled to hear that your birthday wine tour was such a memorable experience. It was truly a pleasure showing you around the Valle de Guadalupe and tailoring the day to your tastes and pace. We love introducing guests—especially those new to the wine scene—to the beauty, history, and flavor of this region. I'm so glad you had the opportunity to meet the winemaker Paolo Paoloni, the owner of Villa Montefiori. His sparkling wine made with Sangiovese is stellar! Your kind words mean the world to us, and we’re so happy the day felt both relaxing and personal. We hope to welcome you back soon for another Baja adventure—perhaps a new route or harvest-season visit next time! Cheers and salud, Ana & Ryan Baja Sherpa Wine Tours 🍷
Our wine tour of Valle de Guadalupe with Baja Sherpa was simply the best tour experience we have ever had. From start to finish, the day was flawless, insightful, and deeply personal. A huge part of this success goes to our guide, Ana Capretz. Ana is an exceptional host—knowledgeable, fun, and truly dedicated to creating a customized day. She took the time to understand exactly what we were looking for and curated a perfect itinerary that matched all our desires. The wineries themselves were spectacular and each offered a completely unique experience. Our favorite was Villa Montefiori, perched on the hillside with stunning views and producing incredible Italian-style wines like their bold Nebbiolo. It was elegant and charming. The rest of the day showcased the valley's diversity perfectly: • Las Nubes offered breathtaking panoramas from its expansive deck. • Finca Altozano provided a delicious, rustic, farm-to-table lunch with the best aguichiale. • Bodegas Magoni highlighted the region's deep viticultural roots with an educational tasting of unique varietals. • Monte Xanic was the definition of modern excellence with polished, benchmark Mexican wines. • Vinos Decantos ended the day on a high architectural note & fantastic Carignan If you are looking for a high-quality, personalized, and unforgettable tour of Valle de Guadalupe, book with Ana and Baja Sherpa. We highly recommend them!

I’m thrilled to hear that each stop—from the elegance of Villa Montefiori to the sweeping views at Las Nubes and the rustic charm of Finca Altozano—resonated with you.
