Les Kazakhs comparent le canyon de Charyn au Grand Canyon des États-Unis. Et bien que le canyon de Charyn soit plus petit que le Grand Canyon, il n’est pas inférieur à sa beauté et à sa grandeur. Le canyon de Charyn est situé à 200 kilomètres d’Almaty, près de la frontière avec la Chine, sur le territoire du parc naturel national de Charyn. Le canyon s'étend sur 154 kilomètres le long de la rivière Charyn et est formé de roches sédimentaires âgées de 12 millions d'années.

Itinéraire
Le canyon Charyn s'étend sur 154 km le long de la rivière Charyn (l'une des rivières les plus profondes des montagnes du Tien Shan du Nord). Le vent, l’eau et le sable ont sculpté le grès rouge de Charyn pour former ses formes et ses nuances. Certaines des falaises ressemblent à des figures particulières, c'est pourquoi certaines parties du canyon sont également appelées la « vallée des châteaux », les gorges de la sorcière et les gorges des fantômes. Itinéraire 09 : 00 – Départ d’Almaty (3,5 heures de route, ~200 km). 12 h 30 – Arrivée à Charyn Canyon, promenade dans la Vallée des Châteaux jusqu’à la rivière. 13 h 30 – Déjeuner pique-nique au bord de la rivière. 14 : 30 – Temps libre : explorer, photos, petites randonnées en option. 16 : 00 – Retour à pied au point de stationnement. 16 : 30 – Départ pour Almaty. 20 : 00–20 : 30 – Arrivée à Almaty.

We had 4 day private tour which included a trip to charyon canyon as well as kolsai lake.. from the day we landed from uae to Almaty..ilyas our guide has been fabulous...he was punctual , courteous ,knowledgeable and was great ambassador of his country..Skyway must be proud of having an employee like him...and he must be rewarded for the same... Lastly. I will always recommend people to visit Almaty as it was an out of the world.. experience ..thanks mainly to Ilyas..
Visiting Charyn Canyon with friends was an unforgettable experience! The views are absolutely breathtaking like a mini Grand Canyon in Kazakhstan. With our best tour guide, Adil, we had a great time exploring, hiking, and taking photos. He made the trip even more enjoyable with his knowledge and friendliness. Highly recommend visiting Charyn Canyon, and if you can, go with Adil he’ll make the adventure even better!

Our Kazakhstan was amazing, the tour was well arranged and the tour guide Nazerke was so great and helpful, she also gave us a lot of information about the places we visited and about the country. We went to Shumbulak ski resort ,Charyn Canyon, Kolsay lake and the alma arslan gorge the tour was amazing! Our driver Sergie was also nice
