Gare de Pinhão et Pinhão Continuation vers Pinhão, l'un des villages les plus emblématiques de la région viticole du Douro. Barrage de Bagaúste et front de rivière Régua Faites un dernier arrêt panoramique près du barrage de Bagaúste et du bord de la rivière Régua. Ce dernier moment offre une autre perspective sur le Douro à la fois comme paysage naturel et rivière façonnée par le vin, l'histoire, le mouvement et l'ingénierie.

Le pont métallique a été construit en 1872 par le roi D. Luís I pour le franchissement routier du fleuve Douro et a été désactivé depuis 1949 en raison de l'état de dégradation de la planche de bois. Le projet initial appartient à l'ingénieur W. Liebe, et a ensuite été modifié par l'ingénieur Johann Gaspar Harkort et les travaux de construction étaient sous la direction de l'ingénieur allemand Wilherm Dulhener de l'équipe Eifel.
Considérée comme la capitale de la région viticole du Douro et est une plaque tournante importante pour l'industrie du vin. La ville abrite le musée du Douro, qui présente l'histoire et la culture de la région et comprend des expositions sur la production et la commercialisation du vin de Porto.

Carlos. I cannot say enough wonderful things about Carlos and Endless Weekend Tours. Without hyperbole if I could given them 10 stars I would. He picked us up in Peso de Regua and took us out for the day.... we visited 2 wineries for a wine and port tasting respectively, plus several stunning viewpoints and the Pinhao train station with gorgeous azulejos tiles. He was kind, knowledgeable, and flexible, giving us the history and little bits of context every where we went. He even took pictures of us as the day progressed so we'd have memories. And the booking process was super easy and they were very accommodating as to the itinerary for the day, providing recommendations as to wineries.

Tour was terrific. Carlos was our driver and picked us up early in a custom new Mercedes van to head out to the Douro on our custom itinerary. Thankfully, it was just me and my partner without all the tourists crowds. In working with Maria, we asked if we could visit a Quinta that we had heard and she not only called beforehand, but also arranged our visit with the owner- an absolutely wonderful experience. While coordinating additional visits to other quintas, Carlos described the history of the valley, the nuances of port wine, and gave us personal stories that allowed us to feel integrated into the culture of the region. Overall it was super worthwhile time and highly recommended.

The entire experience was brilliant from start to finish! Communicating with the team to discuss our options when choosing the venues for our tours/tastings was easy, prompt, and very helpful. It was great to be able to design our day, with advice from experts. Our tour guide, Paulo, was amazing. Prompt arrival at our requested pick-up point, followed by a day of interesting insights and history of the Valley and its Quintas. I truly believe that a tour guide makes a difference on a trip. I can’t say enough good things about carlos Sousa who took us through the Douro Valley. We did a river cruise and saw many breathtaking sites along the way, including the Sandman Vineyard. His recommendations for sightseeing and dining options were spot on. He had a wealth of historical knowledge which made a big difference. Not all tour guides are created equal, in my opinion he was tops.

The tour was a perfect mix of sights, food, and wine. We loved every part of it. Our tourguide/ driver, Carlos, was also very accommodating. He taught us about wine, drove us around the best views of the duoro valley and even took our photos! This tour is a must try!
