This is a day tour, literally 18 hours, for what is two one hour activities, and from that point of view in hind site it may not have been the best use of our time. The activities were great, snorkeling was superb, kayaking was ok, and we paid extra for an exciting ATV experience. We did get to go to Indonesia for the day, and our driver was very accommodating. But... We had to arrive at 6:40am to travel on the 7:20 ferry to Batam, before getting an 1:20 drive to the island, where we took a 15 minute boat ride to the island where the activities were. It's a long journey. If in Singapore, you have to fill out new SDACs, fill out custom forms and DACs for Indonesia, as well as pay for a visitor visa at Batam. We left at 4:00pm and arrived back in Singapore at about 9:45pm. I can't complain about anything, but we just underestimated how long a day it would be, the amount of admin, the traveling, and when coupled with only two activites, although good, was tiring. There are free activities to be fair, such as chess or football, but why go all that way to do those? For me, if you're young and full of energy, and want to visit Indonesia for the day, do this, but for many people I think there maybe better things you could do with a days holiday.
Dear Mr. J, we sincerely apologise for the long journey to get to the snorkeling site. Unfortunately, the Straits of Singapore and Malacca form the world's busiest shipping lane, handling over 100,000 vessels annually (with dark polluted waters around Singapore). Hence, a longer journey out of Singapore is necessary (to experience clean and clear waters suitable for snorkeling). Finally, we thank you for confirming that the actual snorkeling experience was superb, and that our driver was very accommodating.
The full day in Indonesia is a carefully planned experienced allowing you to experience both the wonders of Indonesia’s paradise islands and its poverty, showing up as slams in low-income areas (no safety issues). Border experience in and out is a true VIP service - they take your passports and do all the stamping and border control for you (it surprised us a bit but everything turned out ok); then they accompany you to and from the ferry. Throughout the day you are on 3 different boats so be ready to board some vessels - large and small. Snorkeling is a great experience, though we were sent with someone not speaking English at all. Speaking of which - our guide spoke very poor English - this is the reason we gave 4 and not 5 stars. It was tough to communicate even basic things. But that’s pretty much all we can complain about. Be ready after leaving the ferry from Singapore for over 1h drive south to the next boat which then takes you to the island with activities such as banana boat or kayaking. Overall we were very very happy, activities were fun, reef was stunning and we had some good Indonesian food. If only the guide spoke English we’d be in absolute awe.
Dear Mr. Piotr, we are glad you enjoyed our VIP Indonesian immigration service, fun water activities, drive-past glimpse of the Indonesian low-income villages, and good local food; and we have forwarded your compliments (to all our ground staff and chef). We sincerely apologise for the limited English of the replacement local guide who served you; as our usual English-speaking guide was suddenly down with Covid on your travel date (due to the unexpected Covid wave in June 2025). In any case, our usual English-speaking guide has since recovered (and back at work). Finally, thank you for your review confirming that the reefs were stunning, and your snorkeling experience was great.
Our tourguide was taking care of us in a private tour the whole day, showing and explaining us special places, snorkelling just being alone at the sea apart of tourism or crowdy places. It felt really unique and authentic at the same time. Would always book it again as there are different places to explore and amazing views of Indonesia
This tour include everything we want in tropical islands, such as marine sports, crystal ocean and great nature. Without this tour, it is difficult to find great spot for snorkeling. At first, I suppose it is expensive. But actually we enjoyed far more than we payed. Definitely great tour. And Show gratitude for the tour guide.
