Maciej delivered a fantastic private tour of landmarks in Germany and Poland to my wife and me. He picked us up at our hotel on time, was friendly and personable over the course of the day and was knowledgeable on the history of both Germany and Poland. We are very glad we booked a tour with Maciej and strongly recommend his service.
I had an amazing experience on this tour and really exceeded my expectations. From the beginning of the trip, my guide Maciej picked me up from my hotel, and it was clear that this was going to be a well-organized and memorable tour. During our drive, Maciej was talkative and engaging. This really created a very comfortable experience and he really took the time to answer all of my questions in detail. His depth of knowledge regarding Germany and Poland was impressive. You can really tell he was very passionate about the history and the places him and I visited. With all the places we visited (concentration camp, Szczecin), Maciej approached the tour in a professional and educational manner, which provided time for me to reflect, along with providing the historical details. Our trip to Szczecin was a little bit more relaxed. Maciej took me to all the major local touristy spots, pointing out the buildings and landmarks, sharing the city's history, and highlighting details that I would have never noticed. Throughout the entire trip water, drinks, and snacks were provided. While in Szczecin, before heading back to Berlin, dinner was provided. Maciej took me to a local restaurant and the food was excellent! It was a great opportunity for me to taste the local food and experience the local cuisine. This tour was exceptionally well run by Maciej. Maciej was very professional, friendly, and attentive throughout the trip. Between the historical knowledge, personal engagement with me, this tour offered a great value! I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a day long tour during their travels!
As someone who works in the tourism industry and well-traveled, I hold guides to a very high standard, I rarely write reviews, however this tour with Maciej was truly exceptional. If you're looking for a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to step back in time and experience WWII history in a deeply immersive way, Maciej of Relaxed Europe – Maciej Krupski Travel is the guide to book. I joined his full-day private tour from Berlin, Germany to Szczecin, Poland, and it was one of the most comprehensive and memorable experiences I’ve ever had. Maciej is not only incredibly knowledgeable but also personable, flexible, and genuinely invested in crafting a tour that reflects your interests. He takes the time to get to know you, tailoring the journey so it feels personal and unforgettable. As an adventurous traveler and foodie, I was thrilled when Maciej added a spontaneous detour to the mysterious “Crooked Forest” a small grove of oddly bent pine trees with no clear explanation for their shape. He also surprised me with a stop at a local chocolate shop for some delicious hot chocolate, adding warmth and charm to the day. Szczecin is a city layered with history. Above ground, it’s rich with architectural beauty and wartime stories. But the real experience lies underground, in the dimly lit tunnels built by the Germans to protect civilians during bombing raids. With air raid sirens echoing overhead and wartime photos lining the walls, the atmosphere is chillingly authentic; you don’t just learn about history, you feel it. If you want a tour that goes beyond sightseeing and plunges you into the heart of history, this is the one that will stay with you forever.
This was a GREAT tour. Our guide, Maciej and his intern (LOL) Sabrina made this tour very relaxing and a lot of fun, except for the concentration camp, which was a huge learning experience and a somber place to visit. On our visit to Poland we stopped at the boarder for a Polish hotdog, visited the underground, ate a tasty donut, then we took a stroll around the city of Szczecin. Before leaving Szczecin we ate dinner at a nice Polish restaurant. The food was delicious. We had a great day and would highly recommend this tour!
Honest to God, this is the best tour/trip I have ever been on. Maciej is the sweetest and greatest human being. He honestly undersells this tour. It is so jam packed with all the best experiences and food. He really tailors the experience to your group. Our group consisted of a bunch of people in their 20s. So we were able to cover a lot of ground quickly and consume all of the greatest local food that Maciej recommended. We had delicious polish food multiple times throughout the day; hot dogs, doughnuts, and a traditional polish dinner. All of it yummy! He had snacks and drinks readily available for the ride. If you aren’t a foodie, that is okay, Maciej adjusts the tour to your needs. Just ask or tell him what you want/need and he will easily accommodate. Maciej is especially prepared as a guide because he even packed umbrellas for us to use when it started unexpectedly raining! Everyone in my family had a fantastic time and cannot stop raving about it. We never felt rushed or bored. We cannot recommend it enough to anyone that is looking at this experience or considering it. DO IT. You won’t regret it.
The whole experience was flawlessly executed: communication before, planning, & knowledge of the areas. He clearly let us know when there would be changes and what each activity would be like. We thought 12 hours would be a long day but it flew by.
