Excursion privée d'une journée de Thessalonique aux Météores

We had a marvelous day with Yannis! He has a wealth of knowledge about the area. We toured two of the five monasteries (though he was not allowed to go in with us as he is not licensed to guide here. Somewhat strange as we paid an extra $300 for a guided tour.) The monasteries are beautiful inside and out. The settings, high on the rocks, is amazing. Yannis then took us to a great restaurant for local food. We had a fantastic day!

The scenery was absolutely breathtaking and is a must-see for anyone visiting. Every view was more beautiful than the last, making the experience unforgettable. Our tour guide, Yanis, was fantastic. You could truly see his passion for the site in the way he shared its history and stories. His enthusiasm made the experience even more meaningful. I highly recommend this tour to anyone looking to experience incredible views and learn from a guide who genuinely loves what he does.

Awesome experience! Well worth the cost. After the tour our driver Yanni took us to a wonderful authentic Greek restaurant, delicious food. Did pit stop breaks. Created memories and experienced so much.

The driver from Lion Transfers contacted me 30 minutes prior to pickup to let me know when he was 5 minutes out. Konstantinos arrived on time and made sure I was comfortable before we set out for the day. We stopped about half way to Meteora for a water and bathroom break and proceeded on. As I have a significant fear of heights we discussed my limitations along the way and he set a plan in place to reduce my anxiety and eliminate any instances that would paralyze me. As we navigated the road in Meteora, Konstantinos stopped to allow me to take photos of these most magnificent views. We then stopped and visited the largest, highest monastery without issue. We continued to explore the route to all the monasteries and turnoff points for photo ops and then headed into Kalambaka for an excellent lunch at Elias' Garden Taverna. The food was incredible as were the restaurant staff and atmosphere. Afterward, we had a smooth, safe and enjoyable return to Thessaloniki. Overall it was a 5 star day!!!

Our full-day excursion to Meteora was nothing short of magical, and so much of that was thanks to our incredible guide, Yianni. From the moment he picked us up from our hotel, Yianni was warm, professional, and effortlessly accommodating to our multigenerational group. He made everyone feel comfortable and cared for, no matter the age or pace. Not only was he an exceptionally safe and skilled driver, but his knowledge and storytelling along the journey truly brought Greece to life. He shared fascinating history, local insights, and thoughtful commentary throughout the day, making the drive just as memorable as the destination itself. And Meteora… absolutely breathtaking. There is something deeply special and almost otherworldly about seeing those monasteries suspended among the cliffs — it felt truly magical and is an experience we’ll never forget. To top it all off, on our return journey Yianni recommended a fabulous traditional Greek taverna for a late lunch, which ended up being the perfect ending to an unforgettable day. We cannot recommend Yianni highly enough. If you’re lucky enough to have him as your guide, you’re in for a truly exceptional experience.

Yannis was a fantastic guide. This is not to be missed! The monasteries were incredible, the ride is but beautiful and Yannis has a deep knowledge of area!

Our driver Yiannis picked us up on time in the morning and provided us with interesting information about the area on the way to Meteora. He drove us to viewpoints and the monasteries, gave us as much time as we wanted and told us again and again about the monasteries and history. In the end he reserved a place for us in a traditional tavern, which was also excellent. If you are aware of the long journey time, the excursion is perfect all around and highly recommended! If you are in Thessaloniki, you should definitely take the time and go to Meteora, it is really very impressive and unique. And Yiannis did it perfectly all around.

Worth the drive for a day trip from Thessaloniki!!! Spectacular natural beauty. The private tour made everything very convenient. Our tour guide, Yannis, was knowledgeable and took us to great local places along the way for coffee and lunch.

Best excursion of our entire cruise. We were picked up at the port by Yanis, a pleasant and knowledgeable guide. It was nice to see the countryside along the drive, Yanis answered our many questions. There was a comfort stop at a lovely coffee shop along the way. The monasteries are a must see. Afterwards, we ate lunch at a local restaurant. The food was delicious and the service was excellent! It was a long day but definitely worth it. We would highly recommend Yanis.
