This was the first day tour my family did while in Ireland and it really set a high bar. The driver/guide, Brian, was knowledgeable about various locations of Ireland and also passionate about its history, especially the ancient cultures. We had great conversations throughout the day. He did a good job driving on those challenging roads. He gave us great suggestions of where to visit (and eat) with the time we had, including some serene castle ruins off the typical path. Brian was accommodating in that my family was determined to go to Mizen Head (glad we did), a bit further than he normally goes from Cork. He said the extra two hours would result in some added cost, which I suppose was fair. I will admit that I was nervous when trying to agree on the iternary in advance; He could have been more responsive. I had already cancelled my Cliffs of Moher trip in favor of this private tour, which was a leap of faith. But it ended up being a great decision. Many great memories were formed and Brian was a big part of that. We enjoyed Clonakilty, Dromberg Stone Circle, lunch at O'Sullivan's in Crookhaven, Dunlough Castle ruins, etc.
Thanks for your great review and I'm glad you had a great experience. We do our best to respond to all queries but it can be challenging during the high season. It was a pleasure to tour with your family. All the best
This was the only private tour we booked on our vacation and we have been home a month and still say it was the best tour we took! You will not be disappointed! Brian customized the day to fit our desires (we told him countryside vs city) and he took us to many breathtakingly beautiful places south of Cork, we had lunch in Kinsale, and captured so many wonderful pictures & memories!
Thanks so much for your glowing review. It was a nice day with your family and the weather cooperated nicely. All the best, Brian
We recently returned from a 10-day cruise around Ireland and the high point of the entire cruise was our day spent touring Cork and the vicinity with Brian Boru. We had a few places that we wanted to see and then took his recommendations for the remainder of the day. He was friendly, it was easy to ask him questions, and he had a wealth of knowledge of the area and of the history of Ireland. We definitely recommend him and at some time in the future, would like to book a land tour with him. Thanks, Brian, for a great day.
Thanks so much for positive feedback and for taking the time to write it. I hope to see you next for the land tour. All the best, Brian
Brian was very knowledgeable about Cork and the Wild Atlantic Way. It was fully customizable. The Blarney Castle had beautiful gardens and grounds to explore. The Wild Atlantic coast is something not to miss. We were on a cruise, with time constraints. Brian made sure we saw all the highlights of the area.
Thanks so much for your review. It was my pleasure. All the best, Brian
After a number of bus tours with the tension of getting back on time it was great to tour on our own schedule. We had a great time seeing the titanic museum as well as the cliffs and a castle. Brian was personable and knowledgeable. It was fun chatting about his life in Ireland as well as the history.
Thanks so much for the great review. It was a fun day with your family. I hope you had a great day around Cork city.
Brian was an excellent guide. Very friendly and made sure we got the whiskey experience we wanted and made it back to our boat on time.
Thanks Ilene. This was a fun tour and thanks for the travel tips. You can never visit too many distilleries.
Brian customized the day for grandparents traveling with two teenagers. Traded Blarney Castle for a bike ride around Killary National Park with a much better castle. Made the most of our time in this beautiful part of Ireland.
Thanks for the excellent review. It's always a pleasure to plan activities and well done on completing the bike ride.
Brian was very accommodating & managed to fit In all that we wanted to do! Jameson distillery, Kinsale, Fort Charles, delicious pub dinner, and plenty of scenery!
Thanks Sheryl for the fabulous review. It was a pleasure to guide your group for the day. The hours were a bit unusual but it worked out very well.
When your driver/tour guide asks you what you want to see, instead of telling you where you are going, it is a little off-putting. What we saw was very interesting, but I have no idea if that was the best it could be.
We will take your feedback onboard for future tours.
Very knowledgeable, and very nice, but there were several major flaws. 1. He never introduced himself (I still don't know his name). 2. He asked me what we wanted to see. I am a tourist who's never been here, he should have told us what we were going to see.
Thanks for your feedback on your tour. We regret your experience, your guide should have introduced themselves but sometimes with the business of port collections it can be missed. You could have asked your guides name throughout the tour and they would have realised their mistake. You're guide reported that you confirmed at the start of the day that you needed to return to your ship at 4pm yet later In the day your guide rechecked and you informed that the last boarding was in fact at 3.30 pm. This is NOT a good position to put your guide in half way through a tour. You were fortunate that your guide had the skill and experience to utilise a car ferry in order to avoid roadworks and potential delays around Cork city and got you to your ship on time. Private tours are customizable by nature no two tours are the same. We reached out to you ahead of your tour to request your itinerary choices but you didnt respond. We find that our best reviews tend to come from those who engage with us ahead of the tour with itinerary choices or at least an indication of the type of tour they would like ie city/rural. To some tourists a distillery is important while others might like to visit a particular golf course. Private tours are flexible and customizable by nature and work best with some input from the group. Your guide carried out a full day tour without your input.
