Après une brève réunion et une présentation de l'excursion, nous vous conduirons jusqu'au musée à l'est de Beyrouth pour en savoir plus sur les civilisations historiques du Liban (1 heure de visite). Nous nous dirigeons ensuite vers le centre-ville de Beyrouth, garerons la voiture et commencerons notre balade par une visite des souks, du parlement, de la place de l'étoile, des hammams, de la mosquée Mohamed elAmin, de la cathédrale St. Georges, du front de mer, de la baie de Zaitunay de la grotte aux pigeons et de la corniche. 2 à 3 heures). Beyrouth, une ville de diversités et de contradictions! Détruites et reconstruites 7 fois dans l’histoire, les catastrophes naturelles en étaient la cause, puis nous avons connu une guerre civile de 1975 à 1990! Le matin, nous nous rendrons au musée situé au cœur de l'est de Beyrouth. Le Musée national a été construit dans les années quarante, détruit dans les années soixante-dix, ravivé dans les années quatre-vingt-dix. Mais qu'avons-nous fait pour protéger nos précieuses découvertes? Trouvons des réponses et visitons ce magnifique musée pour en savoir plus… Le centre-ville de Beyrouth; cette région a été gravement brisée pendant la guerre civile des années soixante-dix. Merveilleusement restauré dans les années quatre-vingt-dix… Le parlement, le palais du gouvernement, les «hammams» romains, la place des Martyrs, la plus grande mosquée de Beyrouth et les souks rénovés se trouvent tous à quelques minutes de marche… nous terminerons notre belle promenade modérée dans les rues de DT en vérifiant ce qui se passe au bord de l’eau, la baie de Zeitunay plus précisément… Restaurants, cafés, bars sont au rendez-vous… Nous nous rendons ensuite en voiture à la région de Raouche pour découvrir le symbole de la ville; “The Pigeon Rocks” puis retournez à votre hôtel.
La place des martyrs, la mosquée Mohammed el Amin, la cathédrale maronite St. Geoge, le bain romain, la place des étoiles ... et bien plus encore
Les souks de Beyrouth ont été complètement démolis pendant les guerres du Liban, reconstruits et restaurés dans les années 90 pour devenir un étonnant centre commercial à ciel ouvert dans le quartier central de la capitale du Liban.

Dave is not just an amazing tour guide but an overall amazing human. His love for Lebanon and Beirut shines clearly in this tour as he takes you through the history of this country spanning centuries and still going through tremendous changes. I fell in love with Beirut during this tour. Please contact Dave personally if you would like to request changes to the booking or for more tours around Lebanon. Don't skip this tour. I cannot recommend Dave enough. We were given his name by another traveller and were told how good he was. We were not disappointed. Dave told us the history of Lebanon, from ancient, through recent occupations and civil war to current times with port explosions, demonstrations in 2019, the banking crisis, and more. Good fun, very interesting and very flexible. We explored the old town (hit hard by the port explosion in 2020), the parliament, and finally saw why Beirut was once described as the Paris of the Middle East. Dave amended his tour at our request and we skipped the museum and headed up to the Jeita Grotto, and across to Byblos. We also negotiated another trip with him up the Cedars of God, and then across to Tripoli. Always informative and interesting - Dave also found us some great spots to stop for food, coffee and treats.

If you want firstly a superb guide with incredible knowledge and information, and value for money tour than this is the one for you. I had a fantastic half day tour of more then 6 hours, what I saw and experienced was beyond my expectations, Dave is a brilliant guide and I would recommend him very highly for anyone that wants to experience the past and present in Beirut. I only had two days in Beirut / Lebanon so wanted to maximize my time here! Dave of Dave Lebanon D.M.C. picked me up at Beirut Rafic Hariri airport as I arrived from the States and we immediately began this half-day tour!! Dave is a life-long resident of Beirut so can add value and insight that others might not be able to. We moved at my pace, and Dave gave me insight into the current state of Lebanese affairs, the struggling economy, historical background, and so much more!! Dave knows Beirut and Lebanon very well and speaks all the languages and has many contacts throughout the various religious, political, and cultural groups. During the tour Dave eventually got me to my Hotel to check-in, and then we continued on our tour of Beirut.
