Nous nous dirigeons ensuite vers le temple Todai-ji, qui abrite l'impressionnante statue du Grand Bouddha. En chemin, un Guide local partage l'histoire des temples et des aperçus fascinants du bouddhisme Japonais. Ensuite, nous montons à pied jusqu'à Nigetsu-do Hall, situé sur la colline de Todai-ji, où vous pourrez profiter d'une vue panoramique sur Nara. La visite se poursuit par la visite de boutiques de souvenirs traditionnelles avant de se diriger vers le sanctuaire de Kasuga. Nous serons l'emblématique temple Kofuku-ji, réputé pour sa superbe pagode de cinq étages. Cette pagode ornementée a été construite par le clan Fujiwara en 730. Aujourd'hui, c'est un monument historique emblématique de Nara.
Explorez Todaiji Temple Main Hall et Nandaimon. En vous approchant, vous serez accueilli par deux imposantes statues tutélaires appelées Kongorikishi. Au-delà d'eux, il y a le Grand Bouddha, un spectacle qui ne cesse de fasciner les visiteurs. Explorez la forêt primitive de Kasugayama et Kasuga Taisha. Le sanctuaire Kasuga Taisha est situé à Kasugano-cho, ville de Nara, préfecture de Nara. C'est l'un des 22 sanctuaires des sanctuaires Shikinai et l'un des 22 sanctuaires shintoïstes. Anciennement kanpeitai-sha, il est aujourd'hui un sanctuaire annexe du Jinja Honcho (Agence pour la promotion de la religion shintoïste). L’ancien nom du sanctuaire était sanctuaire Kasuga, et l’écusson du sanctuaire est une « glycine qui tombe ». C'est le sanctuaire principal d'environ 1000 sanctuaires Kasuga à travers le Japon. Il est inscrit comme l'un des « Biens culturels de l'ancienne Nara » sur la Liste du patrimoine mondial de l'UNESCO.

Explorez Naramachi et dirigez-vous vers Naramachi Nigiwai no Ie. Nous allons visiter un vieux paysage urbain japonais qui est tout à fait différent du Tokyo que nous connaissons. Nous nous promènerons parmi les bâtiments historiques et entrerons dans les maisons marchandes pour voir comment les gens vivaient dans ce quartier.

Nara is clearly worth a visit! An absolutely stunningly beatiful place - and funny to feed the deer that roam around both the park and the city. Our guide, Shin, was both pleasant and helpful - also when our tour came to an end and we had to find the right train.

We had an amazing time! Shin was very insightful, funny and friendly. He even took some amazing photo for us and planned a wonderful lunch. The whole tour was five hours but time flew by. From each temple and shine, deer feedings and seeing the worlds largest Buddha, I’d recommend this tour.

Private group experience with our Yuki and Hide was great. The night before the trip, we realized that the pick up location was in Nara and didn’t know how to get there. We called the vendor and they were wonderful helping with planning using public transport and working with our guide to wait for a few extra minutes. Once we arrived, we were pleasantly surprised to find 2 guides who were friendly, fluent in English, and took us on a walking tour for 5 hours. Despite the humid and hot weather, they were thoughtful and considerate, taking thru different sites, including a beautiful tea garden that was off the beaten path and shaded. Loved the experience. They also showed us the highlight of Nara sites including plenty of time with deers but not overly crowded with tourists. Lunch was at a nice restaurants, eating traditional Japanese food which we couldn’t have ordered on our own. At end of trip, they heard we wanted to go to Uji, so they dropped us off at the train station so we wouldn’t get lost. It was a joyful and excellent Nara trip.

It was a really good experience doing the guided tour with Shin. It's so much more interesting to hear all the details that you would normally not know. The tour was relaxed and a nice pace, and because it's a small group you don't look silly, get in the way, or follow someone holding a stick in the air around. The lunch was top notch and very relaxing. The value for the money is unbeatable, to have a guide dedicated to so few people for 5 hours, with such good food. I'm not normally one to pay for tours but this was great, will do it again now.
