We were picked up in a mini van to seat 9 and every seat was full which made the air con struggle in a really hot day (38 degrees). The host was funny and engaging but we only visited 2 wineries where we only tasted 2 glasses of wine at each - good quality wine but it was an hour drive each way and I thought we would sample more - which is probably my misunderstanding of Bordeaux wineries - just a heads up
Bonjour, Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback with us. We're pleased to hear that you found your guide funny and engaging and that you enjoyed the quality of the wines you tasted. We also appreciate your comments regarding the transportation. During your visit, Bordeaux was experiencing an exceptional heatwave, with temperatures reaching around 38°C, which unfortunately made the conditions more challenging than usual despite the air conditioning operating throughout the journey. We understand that this may have affected your overall comfort, and we're sorry for the inconvenience. Regarding the wine tastings, our tours include guided tastings at carefully selected wineries, as described in the tour itinerary. In Bordeaux, tastings are traditionally served in tasting portions rather than full glasses, allowing guests to discover several wines while focusing on their aromas, characteristics, and the winemaking process. We understand that this may differ from wine experiences in other regions, and we appreciate you mentioning it for future travelers. Thank you again for choosing Ophorus. We hope to have the opportunity to welcome you back on another tour and provide you with an even more enjoyable experience. Best regards, Jeanne from the Ophorus Team
Well organized, informative. Good wine
Not worth the cost. Way overpriced. Only two small tastes at 2 wineries. Save your money. The Medoc looks nice, but go to St. Emilion instead where the experience is much better. I am a Wine Consultant and you can believe what I say.
We had a fabulous afternoon on this tour. Our guide Laetitia was very knowledgeable about wines and the area, and also good company with a great sense of humour. The presentations and tastings of good quality wines at the wineries were informative and enjoyable, and Laetitia kept us engaged during the drive with interesting and fun stories and facts about wine and its history. We had a great time and highly recommend this tour!
Great scenery , beautiful chateaux, a good selection of wines with grand cru classe. Good history of the region
My takeaway is that, because this is Bordeaux and they are famous for wine, they don’t try very hard. No information along the way or about the wineries. Zero customer service at the winery. The measure of a bad wine tour? Nobody on the tour bought a single bottle of wine. Give this one a miss.
Bonjour, Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. We’re truly sorry to read that your experience did not meet your expectations. What you describe is quite surprising to us, as providing detailed information, quality customer service, and engaging winery visits are at the heart of what we aim to deliver on our Bordeaux wine tours. We would very much appreciate the opportunity to better understand what happened during your tour so we can look into this matter further. If you’re willing, could you please share more details about your experience by contacting us directly at jeanne@ophorus.com ? Your insights would be extremely helpful and allow us to address any issues appropriately. Thank you again for your feedback, and we hope to hear from you. Best regards, Jeanne from the Ophorus Team
The half-day trip to the Margaux appellation was very informative. We visited 2 wineries, learned a lot of details about the different wines of the Medocs, the grape harvest, the fermentation and the ageing of the wine. We tasted some red wines at both wineries. Particularly noteworthy was the very nice care by Léa and the fact that the group size is limited to a maximum of 8 people.
Our experience was very pleasant. Our tour guide (Lea) was very friendly and entertaining throughout the tour. We highly recommend her.
Luigi was a wonderful guide and we had a lovely afternoon. Got to see two lovely wineries and taste some awesome wines. Would definitely recommend this tour.
Excellent half-day tour with our guide Guy - who had incredible knowledge of the wines, the region, and French philosophy! Would highly recommend this tour.
