We did a wonderful half day tour with Nelly, our amazing tour guide. She was very knowledgeable about all of our stops and was even able to customize the trip for us to see what we specifically wanted. We added on the Tomb of Seti I in the Valley of the Kings and highly recommend adding this on - the most impressive of all tombs in Valley of the Kings. This tour is an absolute gem for those who want to spend a bit more time in Luxor, and to do things which are a bit more off the beaten track after ticking off the more famous sites. I had come across some of these sites online, but when we were driving around the West Bank the previous day, found myself rather intimidated by the prospect of trying to navigate around what looked like relatively deserted sites! Our tour guide, Nelly, led us through the day expertly. She was full of facts and history (which was perfect for us), particularly at Medinet Habu, and we greatly enjoyed her company. She was also exceptionally attentive, great at taking photos, and even picked us up a couple of bottles of water in the afternoon (without us asking). Each of the sites was excellent, and well worth visiting. Medinet Habu has colours to rival anything we saw elsewhere, and Deir el Madina and the Valley of Nobles were almost empty, and we felt really privileged to wander around them. We felt like proper explorers! This was a tremendous day - I would heartily recommend it!
