Comfortable and clean vehicle, tour guide is good. Well organized tour, Beautiful scenery, must do it!!!
Great review thank you. so pleased you had an excellent day.
Terry drove a small group of us from Lyttelton to a sheep farm owned by an award-winning sheep shearer and his wife where the farmer and his sheepdog gave us a brief demonstration of the dog's herding ability. The shearer sheared a lamb for us and explained how the fleeces are sorted and packed up for processing. After the farm, we were taken to Arthur's Pass National Park in the Southern Alps of the South Island. The scenery was beautiful, and we went on a short hike in Arthur's Pass Village. Terry was very informative and kept us entertained through the somewhat long drive there and back to Lyttelton. We thoroughly enjoyed the excursion!
Great review and great feedback of your trip. The Arthurs Pass National Park isa real NZ treasure and our guides specialise in showcasing a taste of that treasure.
This trip was clearly the highlight of our trip to New Zealand with the Celebrity Edge. Even the composition of the program was exceptionally varied. From a visit to a traditional sheep farm, including an impressive sheep shed, to the fascinating rock formations of Kura Tawhiti, known from the Chronicles of Narnia, to the spectacular drive through Arthur’s Pass National Park. A special highlight was also the small church overlooking a waterfall – a place. The day was rounded off by a charming stopover in Springfield (including an obligatory donut), which gave it a relaxed, almost humorous touch. The whole tour was excellently organized, went absolutely smoothly and left nothing to be desired. Of particular note was our driver and guide, who was extremely friendly and that we only drive four people in the minibus. An all-round perfect excursion that we would book again anytime
Wonderful review - received with thanks.
A full exciting day exploring Arthur’s Pass National Park in the heart of the Southern Alps of New Zealand. En route we saw majestic mountains, braided rivers, steep gorges, waterfalls, sheep farms, sunflower fields, deer farms, Castle Rock where scenes from “Lord of the Rings” were filmed and walked lush trails. The sheep farm owner was ill that day, so the sheep farm portion was cancelled. Lunch was optional at Arthur's Pass. Jude was a fantastic tour guide and driver! We had excitement on the return ride to the ship as our group, consisting of three couples, was delayed three hours due to a serious traffic accident. The ship's own tour was also delayed and the ship waited for their group. Quite the adventure!
I remember that day so well! Nerve wracking for all concerned with the traffic delays. Pleased you had a fabulous day with Jude.
Stunning views and a great driver made this trip memorable. Highly recommend this tour, the driving portion is not too bad
Great comments which helps showcase a great day trip.
It is a great scenic experience. Our driver Jude was excellent. I would definitely take a couple of waters and a snack because they are not included. You do stop for lunch which was great but take snack if you need it. The views were great and as I stated before Jude was great.
Yes you certainly had an adventure that day - it was challenging and a longer day than anyone could have expected. Thank you for highlighting Jude.
My wife and I had an amazing day with Jude and this tour group. We started our day with a lovely trek throughout Christchurch on our way to the most amazing sheep and cattle farm you'll ever dream of going to. Trevor and his family were so accommodating and hospitable you felt as though you were a part of their family. After our sheep farm we made our way to Arthur's Pass and took some amazing photos through the mountains. It was a fantastic day and the Jude was an amazing tour guide and friend. We highly recommend.
What a fabulous review of both the tour, Trevor and your driver/guide Jude. She is a treat! And you hit the nail on the head when you meet as strangers and leave as friends.
It was the perfect trip. Small group, only four people. Lots of space in the van. Air conditioning works well. Very nice and competent driver/guide. Just as I imagined New Zealand would be. The Southern Alps are awesome.
Many thanks for your review - excellent.
It was a wonderful day with beautiful views and lots of information. Our driver Jude was amazing and so friendly. Would recommend it
Thank you for sharing your experience. Arthurs Pass is a super popular day trip - our guests love it.
My family tour was booked with Leisure tour via Viator. There was a couple from Brazil didn’t comeback on time from break and we waited for 25 minutes. So the company told driver to move on to next place but we ended up picking them up by company’s decision from one hour away. as a result we didn’t complete at least half of our tour and stayed in van hours and no one say sorry. Leisure tour company doesn’t have any consideration for rest of guests, 9 people.
The contents of this review is totally beyond belief. The reviewer was part of a group who travelled to with us to Arthurs Pass on a shore excursion whilst their cruise ship was in Christchurch. Late morning a stop was made a Castle Hill and the entire group were given time to look around and take photo's. Everyone was advised that the departure time was midday. Unfortunately a Brazilian couple failed to return at the appointed time and despite looking for them and waiting until 12.20 they did not return. In the circumstances the remainder of the group continued on. In the afternoon on the return to Christchurch the couple were waiting and were again collected. As a result of something that was completely beyond our control the group lost 20 minutes of their day. To state that they did not complete at least half of the tour is a complete fabrication. The delay created by other customers on the tour was very unfortunate and disappointing for all concerned. However, the comments contained in this review are very self centered and show absolutely no consideration for anyone else on the tour.
