Amazing trip

Jim was a good river guide. He told a lot of good stories . The scenery was beautiful. My favorite thing about it was that he said that a girl was on her phone when a big part of the canyon fell and she got it on camera. And he said it was on YouTube.

Once in every lifetime you should visit the Grand Canyon this way.

WRA trip We went on the 4.5 day trip from South Rim to Hualapai Indian Reservation in May. our total group was 15 people aged from 15 to 70’s on two rafts with 4 crew members. What a great adventure, we started with a hike down Bright Angel Trail down to Phantom Ranch. We had a great hiking guide in Candy who was very knowledgeable. The views as you walk down are amazing and you get to start the feeling of being at one with the Canyon. Once down on the rafts we met another group who were on the 8 day trip and the staff. Matt, Jason, Kale and Tom. All of them were incredibly knowledgeable, kind and by the end of the trip you really make you feel like you are part of a very special family. The food that they produced was incredible even without considering the location. All meals were fresh, plentiful, tasty….. you won’t go hungry and the food will not disappoint. The side hikes we did through the days took us to some stunning places and unless you know where they are you’d struggle to find them but with the knowledge of Matt our team leader and his story telling it really bought the place to life, seeing waterfalls, hideaway caves, and natural water parks to explore. The hikes are not challenging as such (once you’ve walked down Bright Angel) but it definitely helped having Kale and Jason to guide us over the more challenging terrain. Tom had some great stories/geology facts to tell about the Canyon too of an evening after dinner to keep those that wanted to be entertained. It’s an amazing trip - (you’re in the Grand Canyon how can it not be) that covers hiking, rafting, scrambling, sightseeing, adventures, helicopter ride, plane rides. But without doubt having Matt, Kale, Tom and Jason there guiding us, keeping us safe, providing great food, their knowledge, humor, entertainment and generally being a great team definitely helped to make this once in a lifetime trip for this Brit couple well in to their 50s so very memorable and special. Thank you.

A Truly Monumental Experience

Our rafting tour on the Colorado River was one of the highlights of our trip, and it was entirely because of our guide. She was incredibly knowledgeable, sharing fascinating information about the canyon, land, history, and tribe. Every part of the journey felt meaningful because she brought the landscape to life. What impressed me most was how skilled and attentive she was when conditions changed. A storm rolled in and while the rest of us were focused on staying dry, she was expertly navigating the river, hugging the canyon wall where it offered protection from the worst of the wind and waves. We always felt safe in her hands. But what I'll remember is her kindness. I was soaked, cold, and honestly miserable. I was huddled over trying not to cry when, all of a sudden, HER jacket was placed over me. Monuments are memorable, but that monumental act of kindness is unforgettable!

Seriously Epic Tour!

We highly recommend this trip! From the ease of booking, to the very professional staff & facilities in Page to the trip itself, just top notch all the way. Our river guide was Kelly & not only was she an expert driving the boat, she was so knowledgeable about the river, the area & has a huge passion for the history and lore of the canyon. Her research and obvious admiration of John Powell made him come alive to us as we traveled in his path and saw the canyon & river not only as a beautiful piece of nature, but realized the determination it took from so many to get it to where we can easily float it and see it for ourselves. I’m sure every guide is great, but we really lucked out by getting Kelly, and if you can, request her. We saw wild mustangs, big horn sheep, birds & beaver dams and with Kelly, you got a backstory on it all! She shared her insights from floating on the river daily for 16 years, so we could see it from such a deeper perspective. We loved this about our tour guide. We will definitely rebook with this company, highly recommend, our experience was epic!

Awesome River Rafting with Wilderness River Adventures

This was the trip of a lifetime - the views are insane, the rapids were great and the guides did a really good job of prepping food and running the rapids, which I had never done before. This is a bucket list item for sure and I would highly recommend WRA for going down the Colorado. We hiked down the Bright Angel Trail and it is a lot harder than just 8 mi. as it is over 4,000 feet of descent. The people that did the whole trip did not have to hike at all as they got in at Lee's Ferry. Really spectacular - won't forget it. The river guides REALLY know their stuff. I have zero financial interest in WRA and had never done a rafting trip, so give weight to two things here - it is spectacular visually and also, a very hard hike down if you are doing the lower half, but but breathtaking.

Boating with Kris

Kris was such a good tour guide and very knowledgeable! We saw big horned sheep, lizards and horses! We also saw a seabird which was so rare she was shocked with us. She was a delight to get to know, and I pray she has an easy move to TX! Get her before she leaves because she was great!

Kris was our guide and we had an amazing time!! We saw tons of Bighorn sheep including Wonky Horn, horses, Falcons, ducks with all their little babies, turkey blizzards, and Blue Heron. The breathtaking cliffs and rock formations were beautiful!! This trip has been a long time coming and it did not disappoint. We even got treated with poetry!! Ask for Kris when you book.

Glorious Glen Canyon

This was an awesome pontoon boat trip in Glen Canyon led by the intrepid Kris. She emphasized safety, shared immense knowledge and even summoned the elusive bighorn sheep (5 of them), several feral horses, and Chuck the lizard, among other wildlife, to add to our entertainment. Great trip!
