Try the HopOn HopOff red decker bus to get around Hobart! You can purchase your ticket online @$7.40 USA. This ticket gives you all day access to the buses. As the name says “hop on hop off”. There are at least 20 places around Hobart where you can catch the bus or get off, wander around, take photos, get something to eat, tour a museum, etc. A favorite stop is the Cascade Brewery and the Female Factory (for a bit of history). Everyone raves about the food at Cascade Brewery. You can also walk back along the Rivulet path, back into the heart of Hobart. Or just wait for the next bus and hop on! I wanted to see the Botanical Gardens (which are free and open to the public), but the city buses did not even come close. So, with the HopOn bus pass, I was able to go to the Gardens, wander around, enjoy the Japanese garden, and catch a later bus at the entrance to the Botanical Garden. Buses usually run 7 days a week between 8:30am or 9:00am to 4:00pm. In some places, the last bus is at 3:00pm. But that is a very reasonable fare for multiple bus rides WITH commentary along the way. If you need to hear the prerecorded tour guide in another language, you’ll need headphones with a standard jack. Be prepared for all sorts of weather in Hobart, bring a rain coat, wear layers, and enjoy the ride!

Fun, interesting way to see the city!

Great Tour
Stops at many places, easy hop on hop off. Nice pre-recorded audio explaining the city and driver added a bunch of info on his own. Hope on/off easy and next bus comes around in an hour. Great way to enjoy the views of the city w/o having to drive.

48 Hours in Hobart!
Great trip to Mt Wellington for 2.5 hour with an experienced driver/guide who was very knowledgeable. Hop on Hop off bus was equally as enjoyable and very informative, buses run exactly to time.

Typical experience with a nice casualness in this laid back Aussie town. Got us to several places we hopped off as well as a basic tour of the city and how it’s laid out

Great way to see Hobart
The bus drivers Corey and Harry were really friendly and knowledgeable. We enjoyed lunch at Cascade Brewery then did the Hobart Rivulet Walk with the Red Decker picking us up at the end of our walk and dropping us off at the information centre.

Very understanding
We boarded the bus separately my friends and i but the bus people were very understanding. Good trip, jumped off at the Botanic Gardens and the bus came by an hour later as expected.
