This is the best way to see Chicago! A very personalized tour (just 2 of us our tour with Captain Don!). You get a mix of relaxation going up and down the river learning about all the buildings and architecture and a mix of an adrenaline rush traveling to and from the locks on Lake Michigan going full speed! Super fun!! I also liked how are are able to ask questions at any point during this tour. Highly recommend!! You will get a bit wet on this tour depending on how big the waves are on Lake Michigan but it feels great on a hot day!

What an exhilarating, fun adventurous way to experience the Chicago skyline, timeless architecture that blends beautifully with modern buildings. Captain Don was fantastic, very knowledgeable, enthusiastic and passionate about this fabulous city. Highly recommend this tour for fast, enjoyable time
It was a great experience! The boat ride was fantastic. Our guide, Ken was very knowledgeable about the lake and the river and obviously a skilled skipper. He is a historian and provided great antidotes about Chicago as well being knowledgeable about the architecture. I would highly recommend this tour over the large and crowded tours. It was a much more personal experience.
Great experience. Capt. Don was very knowledge and a great captain. Small, no crowds and the best way to see Chicago. A different perspective from the water and learned quite a bit about the city. I highly recommend it.
Captain Ken was a blast! Fun and knowledgeable and one of those people who you would trust your life with, on the water or on land. It’s a great ride, prepare to get a little wet, it’s a boat!
This was an incredible time. We were looking for something that was a little less crowded but involved the water. Cptn Ken was great and provided. The boat was incredible, he was informative, and we got to see the lake, river and much of the shore. Communication was superb. Well worth the time and no disappointment. Simply book this.
We had an absolute blast with Blackhawk Navy Boat Tours! This was such a fun and unique way to experience Chicago from the water. My kid especially loved getting out on Lake Michigan and going FAST in the little Navy boat! That was definitely a highlight! We got to speed around on the lake, enjoy the views, and just have a ton of fun. What made the experience even better was that we also went into the Chicago River, where we got a little taste of an architecture tour along with some really interesting information about the city and the buildings. It was the perfect mix of sightseeing and excitement. Captain Ken was the man! He was fun, knowledgeable, and made the whole experience even better. If you're looking for something that's more exciting and personal than a typical big sightseeing boat, I would absolutely recommend Blackhawk Navy Boat Tours. Such a great overall experience!
The boat was extremely fun and the tour guide was very knowledgeable! This felt like a very unique experience.
Great experience, riding the high speed boat on the lake and river was a lot of fun. Captain Ken was fantastic and very knowledgeable! Highly recommend!
Very personal tour via small boat in lake and River. Great for couples, friends, or even family. Tour guide is very knowledgeable and drives around to landmarks with great spots for pictures. There are times where the boat is going fast which is super fun to experience, especially on a hot day. Will definitely recommend to anyone that visits over an overcrowded architecture boat tour. WARNING: You may get a bit wet towards the end just due to chop in the lake. We just had to head back to the hotel to freshen up, but still highly reccomend!
Thank you so much for the wonderful review and recommendation! We’re thrilled to hear you enjoyed the personalized experience, the landmarks, photo spots, and especially the faster ride on the lake. We love creating a fun, memorable experience for couples, families, and friends! And thank you for mentioning the possibility of getting a little wet toward the end. Lake conditions can change quickly, and when there’s some chop, a bit of splash is part of the adventure! We always want our guests to know what to expect, so we really appreciate you highlighting that for future guests. We’re glad the splash didn’t take away from your experience and hope to see you back on the water again soon!
