What to know or what to do instead of this tour...

After doing several of these boat tours in other places, I was left a bit dissatisfied with this one overall. These are great things to know and consider before booking this excursion. If you're leaving from Amalfi, the boat ride to Capri is 2 hours long. With stops, it's about 3 hours long. There is only one seat on the boat with shade - 95% of the seating areas on the boat are full sun exposure, so wear a hat - you absolutely will need it. The drinks they provided were not cold, so bring your own or something small with ice because it was uncomfortably hot during stops. The ocean spray and breeze when the boat was moving was helpful. There is nothing to snack on - they literally gave us each slice of melon. So if you may need more to keep from getting exhausted or sick, bring a small snack with you. There's plenty of alcohol though, and that seems to be the theme so if you're a non-drinker, bring something cold to sip on. On this tour the thing I wanted to see the most was the blue grotto - it was closed and we did not get to go inside it, so huge bummer. Prior to reaching Capri, they do stop and anchor for swimming and snorkeling. Where they docked, the waves were very rough and being a not-so-good swimmer, I was only able to dangle my feet into the water. They had pool noodles for those who needed a little help in the water, but if they had life jackets we did not see them. Typically, we've always been provided life jackets for snorkeling. The snorkeling tube was so short it was pointless, because the waves were so rough the water was getting into the tubes, and it made a few people sick. The constant swaying in the rough waters didn't help either during this part of the trip, and that made some people sick as well. Once we reached Capri, they basically dump you and leave for 3 hours. I was expecting them to at least have someone there to help us find a place to change and cool off, but no luck. They pointed us to a changing area, that was fine for just using the restroom, but miserable for trying to change clothes and way too small - barely room to turn around and no air, so it was pointless to change with how bad we were already sweating. Just wear a cute cover up or shorts and a tee, and keep on your swimwear on while on the island. Most people were dressed this way, and it was acceptable at the restaurants and stores. Capri was packed and it was miserable walking around after that long boat ride. All we wanted was water and shade, so we didn't get to enjoy the island that day. When they came to pick us back up, we were hoping we'd just ride back to Amalfi quickly, but they stopped again for people to swim again. It just wasn't a great tour. Others that we've been on before were better equipped, nicer boats with more shade, cold drinks and light snacks, towels (bring your own if you go on this tour) and they had a tour guide once we reached our destination who would at least help you find the amenities, activities, or stores you might be interest in on the island. They would make sure any seasick passengers were hydrated and able to find shade to recoup, and they didn't just leave - this tour was far different than that, and not what I hoped for based on the cost. What we ended up doing a few days later was taking a ferry from Amalfi to Capri instead, which was only $50 for two of us. The ferry was well covered but also had open area seating, and you see almost the same sites as you'd see on the tour. The ferry also had a bar with snacks, drinks, and alcohol that you could purchase, and larger restrooms, as well as charging areas for phones, etc. Once we got back to the island, we weren't exhausted or burning up from the ferry ride, and we were able to explore on our own but for $50 round trip. I hate to leave a bad review, but on this one I have to say save your money and just go on your own. If you're staying at a hotel, they will tell you great places to go to shop and eat once you get there, and they will be way more helpful than the tour guides. We tipped them regardless, because we understand they are only providing what they've been told to do, so totally not their fault. The guide was so knowledgeable, and the views were stunning, just not great amenities for the price.

Beautiful day and excellent service.

Excellent experience, started on time from Amalfi then to Positano for a few more guests, great size boat for the total 11 passengers. Swimming spots, fresh fruit, beverages, fun music, and stopped for information and photo ops iconic landmarks, rock formations, grotto, and time on Capri. Capri was busy, our guide warned us to watch time, and plan. We opted for private car to the city center, saves time to enjoy. Had a great lunch, shopped, and then back to Port. Beautiful day along the Amalfi coast to Capri. The record breaking heat could not touch us this day, great excursion to see the coast.

Best day during our vacation! We had an amazing time taking in the sites, swimming in the ocean and learning from our fantastic tour guide. Even our two difficult to impress teenagers loved it.

A must-do on your Amalfi Coast vacation!

This was our most enjoyable day during our stay in Amalfi. Gorgeous sightseeing out on the water, two chances to swim in the sea and a fun, friendly tour guide. Our family of four, including two teenagers who are difficult to impress, loved the experience!

Worth every penny

This experience was fantastic: low stress, fun, beautiful, and informative. Georgia and Marco were wonderful and made sure we all knew what our options were on Capri and how to get to those options. We did the chairlift in Anacapri and loved it. Highly recommend.

Beautiful day

Giorgia and Marco were a lot of fun and accommodating. We saw the major highlights of the coast and it is stunning. The time on capri can feel a bit rushed not a fault of the tour bc it’s a long day.

Our entire family, which...

Our entire family, which includes 2 daughters in their 20s and husband and wife in their 50s enjoyed this tour. The guide was very personable, engaging, and knowledgeable. Capri is beautiful and we are glad we went to see it this way.
