Little bit of miscommunication as was not aware of seeing the elephants option but otherwise a good tour
Many thanks 😊
First the positive: The driver and guide were very friendly and the old 4x4 cars are cool and give a good first impression. Unfortunately, the trip did not live up to expectations. I chose to leave the tour after the third stop, when we were told that it was not allowed to go up to the waterfall. That raises the question: why did we stop there at all? This should have been clearly communicated in advance. In addition, the groups were much larger than expected. When you come with around 7 cars full of tourists to the same place, it quickly becomes crowded and unpleasant. When it comes to ‘terrain driving’, this was also a disappointment. I have more action when I drive my own car on a regular rural road at home – so this didn’t live up to the description. All in all: For those who only want to see many places around the island in a short time, the trip might be worth it. But if you expect excitement or real off-road experience, I would not spend over 600 NOK on this.
Thank you for your review . Best regards
Pros: - See many areas and tourist destinations of the island in a short time - Unlimited fold water - Riding on top of the truck was fun (although this was only ~5 minutes per person) Cons: - We were first to be picked up and last to be dropped off. 8:30 to 5:30 - The tour guide kept starting her discussion of the destination before people had even finished getting off their truck - Most of the tour was spent in the truck - I understand that the tour is not affiliated with the people exploiting elephants by the waterfall, but the tour guide should not be encouraging people to pay for a ride on the elephants
Many Thanks 😊
Really cool old army jeeps, better than landcruisers. Longer day than suggested which was good! Varied and massive fun. Lunch was the best on a trip so far.
Cool trip for cool person 😎 Thanks for your comment
What a lovely day with the most beautiful people The most beautiful places Lacked a bit of history around the temples Our guide was a little hard to understand In spite of the fact that our driver could neither speak nor understand English, he was the most beautiful driver you could wish. Smiling and extremely friendly and humorous
Great tour, was a lot of fun, well organized. Typical Thai lunch with wonderful selection. The trip leads through a dreamlike natural landscape, the Magic Garden is definitely worth a visit. The kids loved it too. We were some, it was a brilliant day 👍
The view was amazing and many activities were there to do. We make food for elephants and click some mesmerising pics. The elephant were also very friendly we also went waterfall the view was awesome. We are vegetarian so they provide us vegan food .The guide was also very friendly and give instruction very clearly.
We were picked up by a non-English speaker who did not introduce himself and made hotel staff walk us over to the vehicle. It wasn’t a jeep, the seats faced sideways and didn’t look at all like the picture on Viator. The vehicle emissions quickly nauseated me. The seatbelts were only for show and didn’t work. We were brought to a free beach with rock formations where we were asked to meet in 15 min, then the guide ended up back at the vehicle. Then to a number of free temples. (None of this was on the itinerary.) I could not get back in the vehicle bc of the emission fumes making me sick and having to sit in the hot sun with no cover driving. We ordered a cab out of visiting a free Chinese temple (not on the agenda). Mr. Ungs, Samui Safari, and another business name are all used for the same purpose, perhaps to confuse people? I assumed a refund would be no problem since we only went to 3 free places and I couldn’t continue bc of the fumes. Nope, they are fighting me on it so I had to dispute the charge. It was disappointing to waste a day on this with false advertising and in an unsafe vehicle. I would have been very sick and sunburnt by the end of the day if I stayed, and when hopping in the cab to leave, I realized the tour would have no AC for the entire 6 hours…in Thailand….in February. Give me a refund, and I’ll happily remove this review, thank you.
This is a worthwhile experience that offers MORE than is listed here! The guides are very informative and funny. The drivers are lovely and willing to help at all times. Worth the trip!
Overall this was a great day out. Pros: Staff were great, especially Jonny, the guide, who was funny. The lunch was v tasty with amazing view. A great way to see a lot of the island. The water fight was hilarious. Cons: Lunch was a bit rushed. Biggest disappointment was the waterfall - it had no water, the pool looked grim, and the decking around it was downright dangerous (one woman's leg slipped through a missing slat). When dry, they should consider alternative stop.
