There is a lot of driving, but it's a good way of seeing New Zealand. Great day at Hobbiton, good diversion at Rotorua, long drive into Wellington that needed one stop in a picturesque town.
Thank you for taking the time to share your review and thoughts. Your comments are noted about trying to find a stop between Wellington and Rotorua - good point. Pleased you enjoyed Hobbiton.
We appreciated being able to see all the amazing NZ sights with one stops itinerary. It was great how everything was organized for us. We enjoyed our guides along the way. The bus ride on the third day, though necessary, was very long!
Thank you for taking the time to submit your review which are valuable to us to ensure we meet and where possible exceed our customers expectations. We do hope that you will have the opportunity to visit New Zealand again in the not too distant future.
I traveled solo during off season. It was great to have the tour guides/drivers practically to my self. The tour started in Auckland, but if you don’t plan anything else this tour provides nothing of Auckland. Hint: plan something. Hobbiton and the Waitomo caves were great. Rotorua Was fascinating with regards to the geothermal springs and learning about the Māori tribes/cilture. You must plan something ahead of time for the rest of the time here. Trip to Wellington was underwhelming as it is basically just taking a bus that has a few stops. Long enough to stretch your legs, but not longing to explore the cities. Would have been great if the bus stopped along way for some of the more scenic spots for pictures. This would not occur as this is a bus on a specific schedule. The Wellington tour was great. I was confused over some of the schedule having misplaced itinerary. Customer service was efficient and helped course correct. All lodgings were very nice.

First part is great. Last part on inter city bus ride was too long and boring. A waste of our day. Seems pricy
Thank you for taking the time to submit your review. With regard to the journey from Rotorua to Wellington the only option that currently exits to travel between the two centers on a daily basis is by coach. The journey is some 500 kilometers, however through some magnificent countryside and scenery, so unfortunately is going to take an entire day. The only other option is to fly which would add hundreds of dollars to the cost of the tour.
Great way to travel but a bit pricy. Our ride was to include a morning tour of Auckland but DID NOT which was very disappointing. Driver was great! Mini bus was very cramped but did have Wi-Fi.
Thanks for the review and pleased you had a great and enjoyable four days.
On the first day our guide Peter was great!! He picked us up at our hotel and we went to Hobbiton - it was a great place to visit! The attention to detail was incredible and the lunch was terrific. Peter took us on an extra bush walk before the caves - it was beautiful and a great way to stretch a little! We then went to the glow worm caves - it was worth seeing. Then onto Rotorua. Our hotel was very nice and great location - close to lots of restaurants. The next day we went to a geo thermal Māori village and a cultural performance - very interesting. Had some free time that night so we went to the red woods at night - beautiful. The next morning we boarded the bus for a LONG drive to Wellington - but it was a great way to travel without having to rent a car. The following morning we finished with a city tour of Wellington - nice way to see the major sites of the city. Overall we would recommend this tour - just know there are some long travel times but it was worth it for us to not have to drive. Everything was very well coordinated and the guides, bus drivers and accommodations were great !
Kiaora Jolene and thank you for leaving a review. I am pleased tonhear that you enjoyed your tour with us!
The individual elements were good - Flexi-tours did a good job of the Glowworm caves and Hobbiton, and likewise the operators of the Wellington tour - but it would be more accurately described as a 2 1/2 day tour with a very long public coach trip taking out a whole day and the ‘fourth’ day ending around lunchtime. For most travellers it would probably make more sense to book the individual elements directly. If you want to spend the day on a coach, it would be worth considering upgrading to the premium offering for more space and comfort.
Thank you for taking the time to submit your review. We have both 3 and 4 day tour options available for the tour from Auckland to Wellington, a distance of over 700 kilometers. On the four day tour travel is from Auckland to Rotorua via Waitomo on day one, a day in Rotorua on day two, Rotorua to Wellington on day three and a morning sightseeing tour of Wellington on day four with three nights accommodation. The three day option is the same however, concludes on the arrival in Wellington on the evening of day three, with two nights accommodation. Why the reviewer refers to a two and a half day package is questionable. As for the coach journey from Rotorua to Wellington this is accurately described for all to see in the tour description.
We emphasize the punctuality and professionalism of all. The tour was great. We were only disappointed with the condition and management of the Waitomo caves.
Kiaora and thank you for taking the time to leave a review. We are glad that you enjoyed your tours with us!
The whole tour was excellent especially the drivers/guides who were professional, knowledgeable and friendly. Seamless trip and good value for money. A special shout out to Darryl the driver who took us from Auckland to Hibbiton.
Kiaora Wendy and thank you for taking the time to leave a review. We are glad that you enjoyed your tours with us!
Hobbiton and Waitomo Caves on the first day were great. Rotorua cultural experience on the second day was just as good. The third day was just a long 5 and 1/2 bus trip to Wellington, was a public shared coach, no commentary, would have preferred a plane down. The morning of the fourth day tour around Wellington was a waste of time. Suggest making it a 3 day tour with a flight back to Auckland.
Thank you for taking the time to submit your review. We do have a three day option available on Viator and on our own platform for this tour without the Sightseeing in Wellington, although the reviews we receive for the sightseeing in Wellington as a standalone product has 4.5 stars with over a 100 reviews. We appreciate that everyone is different with their likes and dislikes and this is what makes us individuals.
