From pick up to drop off the trip was lovely. It was a small group and Annette started with introductions to everyone. The journey was not too long and the last part was through the forest which was beautiful and green. Once parked we walked through the forest with regular stops to hear about the flora and fauna. Such an interesting history. Once we arrived we had an opportunity to explore whilst our lunch was prepared. We took a short walk and enjoyed the sunshine and dipped our feet in the Baltic Sea. The water was mesmerising reflecting off the sky, the views idyllic and the peace and quiet just incredible to sit, pause and relax. We all met back for lunch. Annette explained our local delicacies, which she had carried on her back from the van. My many dietary needs were catered for and I am extremely grateful, it is not often to get to enjoy a catered picnic when thinking about your diet. The communication about this from start to finish was excellent. Thank you Kia. We headed back a different route again enjoying our surroundings. It was a lovely way to enjoy Finland’s nature and I would highly recommend this trip.
The hike is beautiful, and the archipelago was nice and peaceful. It was a great experience overall.
I did this excursion a few years ago and since I was in Helsinki again, decided it was a perfect way to get out of the city, enjoy nature, and share the experience this time with my partner. It was a stellar day weather-wise and our guide Anette shared a lot of her knowledge both during our hike and lunch. The forest is incredibly peaceful and the terrain is easy but the stunning coastal views are the highlight of the tour. We could have easily spent the entire day exploring the coastline and adjoining forest. The delicious waterfront lunch Anette served consisted of salmon, potato salad, hearty Finnish breads, beetroot hummus, cheese, organic blueberry juice, and a pastry. Just an absolutely terrific way to spend our last day in beautiful Helsinki!
Thank you Brian so much for your kind words and we were so happy to have you again! Glad to hear that you enjoyed the archipelago excursion with Anette and hopefully we will see you again! :) Warm regards, Kiia / Taiga Times

We loved this excursion. Jeff, our guide, was so knowledgeable about nature in the Finnish forest. We had delicious Finnish fish soup, Finnish bread and blueberry juice for lunch. The views of the Baltic Sea were beautiful. In spite of a brisk wind, the sunny day made the experience really enjoyable.

My excursion was a joy from start to finish. Mari was totally lovely. She was welcoming, and with a genuine warmth towards us. The vehicle was comfy and safe, and Mari’s driving was superb. The trek through the forest to the sea was so scenic and tranquil. Mari made us a hearty and delicious fish soup, and gave us a recipe card so we can try it out back home. I can’t thank Mari and Taiga Times enough for making my trip to Helsinki so joyful.

A brilliant trip out into the natural world to see the archipelago and experience some stunning and remote Finnish wildlife. Jeff looked after us at every step, explaining all the flora and fauna we saw, cooking us dome delicious salmon soup with rye bread, cinnamon roll for afters and blueberry juice and sea buckthorn shots to wash it down with, and giving us some free time to explore. As there were only two of us, we had Jeff's undivided attention and he really made us feel welcome and looked after. We saw many birds, quite a few deer and found some interesting trees and plants too. On our return, Jeff even dropped us right by our hotel. An absolute highlight of our trip.
