Après la prise en charge à votre hôtel de Las Vegas, prenez un court trajet en van pour vous rendre au barrage Hoover pour un bref arrêt photo. Ce barrage retient le puissant fleuve Colorado, derrière lequel se trouve le lac Mead, magnifique réservoir artificiel contenu dans les murs du Black Canyon. Prenez toutes les photos du barrage que vous voulez!
Ensuite, dirigez-vous vers la petite ville minière de Chloride, une communauté qui a survécu au dur climat désertique depuis les années 1860. L'argent et d'autres minéraux ont été extraits ici pendant des décennies, et après la fin du boom minier, Chloride est presque devenu une ville fantôme. Aujourd'hui, environ 250 résidents de Chloride sont fiers de leur histoire minière. Parcourir les magasins d'antiquités; admirer les différentes sculptures artistiques; et discuter avec les habitants avant de profiter du déjeuner.
Ensuite, suivez la route historique 66 jusqu'à la petite ville fantôme d'Oatman.
La population actuelle de cette ville fantôme est de 150 personnes et un poltergeist qui s’appelle ‘Oatie le fantôme’. Il est supposé être le pauvre esprit de William Ray Flour, un mineur irlandais décédé après l’hôtel Oatman. Admirez la vue sur les montagnes noires et les somnambules et les burros sauvages qui errent librement dans la ville. Faites-vous photographier aux côtés de cow-boys et de bandits modernes tout en posant devant un authentique panneau de la Route 66. Vous aurez également l'occasion de prendre part à une fusillade dans l'Ouest. Tenu au milieu de la rue, cet événement de style occidental met en vedette des cow-boys en costume, face à face, prêts à dessiner. Prenez un verre dans un salon local (à vos propres frais) avant de traverser le désert de Mojave le long de la route des vétérans, une route qui traverse directement un paysage désertique et désert. Votre dernier arrêt avant de revenir au faste et au glamour de Las Vegas sera à El Dorado, nommé par les Espagnols qui ont découvert de l’or dans la région. Cette ville a servi de toile de fond à de nombreux films occidentaux célèbres et abritait également la célèbre mine Techatticup, où des millions de dollars d’or et d’argent ont été exhumés.

Joel was a fantastic guild, full of knowledge and historical information. The tour didn't feel rushed and we have plenty of free time to wonder round the 3 ghost towns visited. Joel was engaged and made the tour very much enjoyable. Lunch was provided which was delicious. Would highly recommend and would definitely book again if in Vegas.

Las Vegas 4 day stay at the Mirage & tips My wife and I had a good time in Vegas, we stayed at the mirage, which we found to be in the center of Las Vegas Blvd. making it easy to get to just about anywhere, plus access to the free tram. ( there are two trams one is free the other you pay for) a cab from the airport to the hotel $30.00 about a 20 minute ride. Check in at the hotels are around 4pm, so if you get there earlier,you won’t be able to check in, so check your bags with the bell men. Since we arrived early we had a 4 hour wait, so we used the time to scope out the hotel and we’re the pool was located and it’s hours of operation. At the Mirage the pool opened at 9am but people got on line 1/2 hour earlier,in order to get a free chair before everyone rushes to get one, otherwise your stuck having to pay for one. You’ll also will fine that some people just put their towels down on the chairs and then walkway not to be seen for hours. Best times for the pool and chairs early morning or after 230 pm. Another tip bring a small collapsing cooler, to bring to the pool ( no glass allowed) Once our room was ready, we just called down to the bell men and our luggage was brought up very quickly. Once we unpacked, we went across the street to Walgreens and purchased waters and other drinks,snacks,to keep in our room in ice buckets, otherwise things can get expensive. If you’re looking for reasonable food cost, I would recommend going to the miracle mile shopping mall it’s about a 20 minute walk from the mirage. Breakfast at the hotels for two can run from 60 to $80. At the miracle mile we got, two eggs, bacon,potatoes,toast, for $5.00 at la Salas which opens at 8am across from there is Blondies, also good deals on breakfast and lunch, there is also a place in the miracle mile we’re anything on the lunch menu is $5.00 we saw it and there was a line for it,so we ate at earl of sandwiches, two small hero’s and free refills for two cost us $21.00, wear comfortable shoes there’s a lot of walking.,hotels seem close to each other but believe me there not, my wife and I were doing about 20 to 25000 steps per day that’s 10 plus mile’s per day Suggestion bring or buy at cvs or Walgreens, liquid I.v. Great for exhaustion and hang overs, it works quick you mix it with your water. Also be careful of individual trying to sell you VIP concert passes, it’s a scam, only a promotor can give out VIP passes,and thief usually free. Hope I’ve given you some insight, Enjoy Vegas. I found the best time was Labor Day ( Sunday to Thursday) we found it less crowded.

A great day trip if you want a break from Vegas strip ! Indy our tour guide was very personable and knowledgeable. Enjoyed beautiful scenic drive and even drove on parts of RT 66 . Visited 3 “ ghost” towns though Chloride wasn’t interesting but really enjoyed oatman. The wild burros were definitely a highlight
