Découvrez par vous-même la «Cité des Trois Cultures»! Tolède est située à 70 km de Madrid, une belle ville-musée déclarée site du patrimoine mondial par l'UNESCO. C'est l'une des villes les plus anciennes d'Europe et possède une grande beauté artistique et des bâtiments de presque toutes les périodes de l'histoire (style arabe, gothique, mudéjar, Renaissance et baroque). Tolède est appelée la «ville des trois cultures», car chrétiens, musulmans et juifs vivaient ensemble. Au XVIe siècle, c'était aussi le lieu de résidence du grand peintre El Greco. Une fois à Tolède, vous organiserez votre journée à Tolède comme vous le souhaitez. Une visite guidée à pied d'une heure à Tolède est incluse. Le bracelet touristique vous donne accès à 6 des monuments les plus importants de la ville: Synagogue de Santa María la Blanca, Église de los Jesuitas, Église de Santo Tomé-Enterrement du Comte d'Orgaz, Monastère de San Juan de los Reyes, Mosquée du Cristo de la Luz, Collège royal de Doncellas Nobles et l'église d'El Salvador.

Cette construction mudéjar a été construite en 1180. Elle est composée de cinq nefs séparées par des piliers soutenant des arcs en fer à cheval. Au 15ème siècle, elle fut transformée en église, bien qu'aujourd'hui ce soit simplement un monument ouvert aux visiteurs. Il a un plafond à caissons en bois, des autels plateresques et un retable de l'école de Berruguete.
L'Iglesia de San Ildefonso est une église de style baroque située dans le centre de la ville historique de Tolède, en Castille-La Manche, en Espagne. Également connue sous le nom d'église jésuite, elle est consacrée à saint Ildefonso de Tolède, patron de la ville et père de l'église. Sa construction a pris plus de 100 ans. Les travaux ont commencé en 1629 sur les terres acquises par les jésuites de Tolède en 1569. Le lieu a abrité les maisons de Juan Hurtado de Mendoza Rojas et Guzmán, comte d'Orgaz. [1] C'était le lieu de naissance de Saint Ildefonsus. Pedro et Estefanía Manrique, membres de la haute noblesse castillane, ont été les promoteurs de l'érection du temple.
.L'église paroissiale doit avoir été fondée après la Reconquista chrétienne de la ville par Alphonse VI en 1085, car la première nouvelle de son existence date de 1142. Depuis le premier édifice mudéjar, elle a conservé le grand arc multifonctionnel superposé la voûte principale qui sépare la nef principale du presbytère ainsi que les solides contreforts de cette partie de la nef et un petit arc de trèfle sur une frise en brique disposée dans le style mudéjar qui survit dans la partie haute dans ce qui était autrefois le sanctuaire semi-circulaire de l'église d'origine à nef unique.
Ce monastère a été fondé par le roi Ferdinand II d'Aragon et la reine Isabelle Ire de Castille afin de commémorer à la fois la naissance de leur fils, le prince Jean, et leur victoire à la bataille de Toro (1476) sur l'armée de Afonso V du Portugal. Tolède a été choisie comme site de construction du monastère en raison de son emplacement géographique central et de sa position de capitale de l'ancien royaume wisigoth, symboliquement reconstituée par Isabella et Ferdinand avec la restauration de l'unité perdue de l'Espagne grâce à l'union de la Castille. avec Aragon.
La mosquée de Cristo de la Luz est une ancienne mosquée de Tolède, en Espagne. C'est l'un des dix qui existait dans la ville pendant la période maure. L'édifice s'appelait alors Mezquita Bab-al-Mardum et tire son nom de la porte de la ville, Bab al-Mardum. Il est situé près de la Puerta del Sol, dans un quartier de la ville autrefois appelé la Médina, où vivaient les riches musulmans.
Bien que l’église soit petite, il s’agit d’un édifice exceptionnel, car c’est le site de 4 constructions successives, c’est une église du XIIe siècle construite sur une mosquée Taifa du XIe siècle, qui a été agrandie Mosquée des Omeyyades du IXe siècle et à son tour sur un édifice religieux wisigothique. Ces civilisations ont également réutilisé des éléments romains du IIe siècle.

Today we made the excursion to Toledo full day. We had booked a tour in Spanish that was not fulfilled. They spoke mostly in English and by the time I played Spanish I had already left the place and we couldn’t understand too much. While the guide Oscar knows a lot he was neither cordial nor kind to us. The services of the company were good, both the collective and its driver. .

Not the first time in Toledo. Last year I attended the split tour (half day Segovia, half day Toledo). There i fell in love with the city, so I had to come back to a full day tour. 100% worth the money. Oscar is a really kind and nice instructor with enormous knowledge. The tour is well organised, we had time for everything. The cathedral is always the cherry on the top but the masterpiece of El Greco and the wibe of the whole city is amazing. We had time to many small pauses (for shopping etc) and a 1 hour lunch break nearby the best reataurants in Toledo. Of course the small streets are a bit crowded especially when there’s traffic on them, but managable. Amazing experience and my favourite activity in and around Madrid. When i visit the capital, i’ll always find some time for Toledo as well.

Our guide Oscar was indefatigable! So much knowledge and a whole bunch of interesting historical facts- with a good dose of humour. Driver Rafa got us there and back safely despite some hairy s-bends in the hills. All in all an excellent day and Toledo is definitely worth the effort.

Oscar our guide for the day was really informative and considerate, a really enjoyable day exploring Toledo. Our coach driver Rafa made us feel comfortable and did amazingly well driving on the narrow streets to do the panoramic view of the city.

I booked the non guided tour and they try to convince everyone in the morning to do the guided tour if you had not booked it. We did not do that and so we were essentially on our own except for drop off and meetup for return trip. I expected some more engagement with the group but it was essentially just an over priced bus ride to Toledo. I did feel like a bit of an outcast on the bus as everyone else was in the guided tour. In my opinion they should only offer 1 full guided tour option. My recommendation is to either do the full guided tour or don’t do this activity and just book regular transportation to Toledo. Also. My wife got sick overnight and was not able to make it and so was just my self and 2 kids who continued on the tour. I mentioned this to Viator and asked if I could even get a partial refund since we are still continuing with 3 of the 4 but they were not flexible at all. Having said all that, I do understand the policy of no cancellation inside 24hrs. Overall I did have fun with my kids but was not due to anything this tour provided.

This tour provided you with a panoramic tour of the city stopping for pictures at a very nice point view. This tour provided you as well with an hour walking tour with the whole group. And after this, you decided to visit on your own the 7 monuments that this tour gave you tickets for. We are glad to hear that you had fun with your kids.
