This was an enjoyable trip to Ston, a historic walled village & the Korcula Island. The bus driver was friendly & knowledgeable and stopped for panoramic spots for photos . The wine tasting experience was disappointing. We stopped at the rural Museum of Viticulture and Winemaking Putnikovic. There was no wine tasting experience of note, the attendant was reluctant to serve any wine and we got to taste one small serving of a rose wine. In the entrance, an interpretative display was on the ground. This was a disappointing stop on the otherwise good tour. On the island of Korcula you can swim, so bring your swimming costume.
Nice trip out to see Korcula old town and Ston. Winery was nice and small but a little stingy with the sampling - introduced 6 kinds they make but reluctant to let you try more than 2. Which is a shame because I did buy the 2 I tried so they could've sold more to the group I was in if they'd let us try more. Pick up options when booking was a bit misleading. I typed in where I'm staying, Mlini and selected the hotel that came up which is next door to mine thinking this is where I'd be picked up from (this was a big factor in me booking this tour because no others showed pick up options from Mlini). The afternoon before my booking I received a message asking where I want to be picked up from and get told they don't pick up from Mlini. So it's too late to cancel for a full refund and ended up having to get a taxi to Dubrovnik to get picked up from there so I didn't lose out.
The excursion to Ston and Korcula very nice and highly recommended. The Dejan guide left much to be desired. I don't explain anything or worry about us at any time. He just took us to the sites. Besides driving like crazy.
I'm not usually someone who writes reviews, but feel that we should share our experience. Our tour guide was very uninformative. He shared a lot about himself, but not so much about the history or sites. He was a questionable driver. A few of us did not feel safe during the journey (on phone while driving, taking hands steering wheel etc.). The tour is not as advertised. We expected the tour to be guided, and to be accompanied by the guide on the boat over to Korcula. We were dropped off at the boat and just picked up again. No recommendations or information about the island shared. The wine tasting was not as advertised, got three very small tastes of wine with minimal description and no liqueurs or anything else that was mentioned. No tour of winery given. We were very disappointed in the overall experience and feel this was largely down to the tour guide. We would recommend advertising the tour differently, and hiring a different tour guide.
Unfortunately our trip was cancelled by the tour operator the night before we were due to go, which was very disappointing, they didn't have the minimum amount of people for the trip. They offered us a private tour but we declined because we thought it would have been more fun with other people.
Gorgeous blue sea, beautiful island, lots of free time, energetic guide. A surprisingly small boat to ride, not the "ship" advertised.
This was not a tour. We had a private car and driver take us to Ston (too early to do oysters) and then to ferry to get to Korcula. No guided tour at any time. On return trip, we stopped at wine tasting which was nice. Daniel was a great driver and provided information while driving. But not what expected.
Didn't get to experience Korcula or wine tasting. Confirmed paid tour 10 June did not run, supposedly due to insufficient numbers. Booked on next day available 12 June which was also cancelled. Wonder if I would have been notified if I hadn't contacted the company to reconfirm tour date change ?? Offered private tour for 300 euros extra, tour date after departure from country or alternate tour which I had already informed them I had done. Two tours in one week not available?? Company shouldn't accept bookings and take payment for tours they can't deliver. No time left to book tour with another company. Tripadvisor needs to remove 'Highly likely to sell out' label and look at promoting this tour. And if I was bumped twice due to group demand, company doesn't deserve solo traveler bookings that also deserve fair consideration. Will probably not return to Croatia again. So I will not see Korcula. Highly disappointed not doing this highlight tour. Look forward to receiving refund.
The driver/guide clearly enjoys his work. He was engaging and offered insightful comments about Croatia. The experience at the winery was mixed. The staff member did not provide much information about the wines were were tasting; perhaps due to limited fluency in English. But glad it was included in the tour.
I was actually booked on the Elaphati Islands trip but it got cancelled due to the bad weather and I got asked by Supertours if I wanted to join this trip instead which was very nice. I’m so glad I did, it was a fantastic day from start to finish. I got picked up from my hotel where I joined 7 other people. The driver/tour guide was so knowledgeable, he told us some historical facts along the journey, he would know the answer to all your questions. The first stop was Ston where we wondered around, if you like your history and scenery you will enjoy. I chilled and stopped for a coffee and talked to an artist. Then back in the car after I think 1.5 to go to Korcula where we took the ferry. Korcula was really nice, right by the sea was which was lovely to watch and take photos. Again lots of wondering around taking in the scenery, there’s a bell tower you can explore, lots of history, I stopped for homemade pizza for lunch. The tour finished with a wine tasting which was so nice! I was then dropped back to my hotel. Thank you!
